As a writer, I tend to work out and meditate to "recharge" my mind, if you will. Sometimes it's best to step away from social media for a time. Works like a charm for me.
Hi Toshi!☺️ I recently found your videos and they’ve been such a joy. I find them very relaxing and it’s wonderful to see your creative process and thoughts. As a fellow creative, when I’m starting to feel burnt out it’s usually from the repetitive nature of my creative energy thats being depleted but not resupplied. I love to write fiction, but writing for days on end can start to drain my creative energy. The ways I can restore my energy is to find other mediums that feed it like new movies, new music, and exploring and learning about other art forms to refresh my creativity. And most importantly taking periods of rest! Using all that energy can be both exhausting for the mind and the body
I usually take a whole day to fully rest and do nothing! I dont talk/text much people too on that day. Being lazy for a day helps me gain my energy back😂
Glad to stumble on your channel! I'm also a freelance illustrator (and I'm learning Japanese!!) To be honest I just step away from art when I feel get the burnout feeling.. usually happens when I have too much client work and during my free time I just don't want to think about drawing haha I noticed you usally do work at the end of the day, any reason for that? Working from home since 2018 can get my schedule looking kinda crazy as sometimes I just get the itch of stepping out of the house haha
The past year, I've been taking care of some stuff at grandma's in the morning, so I don't have much time around that time, and I'm a night owl by nature lol
Hey Toshi! I understand the feeling of creative burnout (as an artist myself) I always try to make myself do some improvements on some art areas I want to work on but I fail to do it somehow due to classes or feeling unmotivated, I try not to force myself not to go overthink when creating art. Also, I have some questions to ask you (if you don't mind). While watching your videos for quite some time, I see that you have the camera facing up whenever you're running errands or recording your exercise videos. Doesn't your arm get tired from holding whatever you're using to record? I also noticed that you had some Disney/Pixar concept books (Soul and Wreck-it Ralph), do you use them for inspiration whenever you're working or for something else? I hope I'm overwhelming you with these questions 😅. Take care and don't overwork yourself. Put some priority on yourself 😊 Greetings from California
Thanks for the questions! My arms have been luckily fine with the way I film. It'd take 10 sec at the most anyway:) I used to look up the art in those art books all the time when I was new to the industry, but not so much these days. I still do enjoy looking at all the amazing art in the books though!
Thanks for watching guys! What do you do when you face creative burnout? How do you deal with the lack of motivation??
I look online at some of my favorite artists and try to get some inspiration from them 🙂
I just take time off. It will come back naturally with a crazy urge to create or it will simply order my ideas and get back on track.
Usually I look at the artwork of all my favorite artists. That always inspires me to keep going even further.

That food looks so good. I would have bought everything on that menu
I think you have to take a break from time to time, before you get to that point. That's self-care. Greetings from Spain.
I love ginger ale ✨ Did you know there is one that has more ginger and more spicy. I recommend you to try it. 😊
I forgot the name of it, but I love that too!
