A large D guard bowie with distal taper is an excellent idea. An economical budget version would probably be a big seller, outclassing other offerings like the prevalent Windlass rendition.
Indeed Brother Nathaniel has designed lots of bowie models, most have simpler fittings. But almost all have fantastic blade grinds and proper distal taper.
Thanks, unfortunately, it cannot come a lot cheaper than it is due to the hand-forged nature of it. Even if you went with a non-gilded, non-carved hilt. I think it might be possible to reduce it down to maybe about $250-275 though.
@@thelevinlance6566 I have to say that price is an absolute steal. It’s basically lower than even the stainless steel version of Cold Steel’s factory mass-produced flagship models such as the Laredo and Natchez bowie. This bowie is superior in every single aspect.
@@FortuneFavoursTheBold proper distal taper completely changes the handling of a blade. My first jian with it was a revelation after Windlass and Cold Steel clunkers.
Thanks for this review, brother, and I am glad to see it is well-liked by your gracious viewers. I learned a lot from this piece, and although I think I can certainly do better, it was a milestone for my arsenal.
Thanks for this opportunity to own such as beautifully designed and well crafted piece. It is truly the finest knife I have ever owned, on top of being a memento of friendship. I like it more than the MK.I of the Ultra Heretic bowie reviewed by Kyle and that one is already almost at the pinnacle.
Beautiful knives. Cheers from Montreal
Hail and glad you like it!
Finally a bowie longer than 9.75 inches
I have reviewed a number of Brother Nathaniel’s bowie knives and they all have blade lengths longer than 13”.
Beautiful Bowie
My favorite by Brother Nathaniel.
Baby cutlass ;) It looks like it could be a sidearm for ship crew in 40k or something
Indeed. Lots of Brother Nathaniel’s designs have a gothic feel which fits the Warhammer universe quite adeptly.

@@martinsmith9054 absolutely!
Looks like a mean sidearm for an old western gunslinger. Gorgeous work, gotta love big bowies
Indeed! It’s an easy-to-carry sidearm due to its weight despite the size.
We need more knives like this. Keep up the good work.
Glad that you think so.
That is quite an epic scenery for a TH-cam review.
Many thanks!
Nice
Thanks!
This looks like a knife for a discerning gentleman that shows good taste in life.
Yes indeed! I think this is the design intent of Brother Nathaniel.

That's a good blade. Baby falchion?
I have heard descriptions of Brother Nathaniel's bowie knives as this before.
