Wha does everyone mean by "what happened to you?" Are you kidding me? He is making history and breaking new ground! He is STILL playing amazing music, it's just the music that he is passionate about! And what he plays now still shows a remarkable amount of musicianship and talent. What happened to him is that he grew up to do what he loved and became and a well rounded and incredible musician...

What an amazing young man...turned into one of the most creative unique individuals I have Ever had the pleasure of being a fan of...He and the rest of the guys are so nice (crazy) but nice. I am so happy that I have had the chance to see them and chat with them.

what do you mean 'what happened?". He's one of the worlds greatest cellists, but chooses to play the music he loves most. Whilst playing Rock Cello, I'd bet he'd knock the Dvorak Cello Concerto in B minor out the water if he took a mind!

Now I understand why he is the Lead Cello and not Eicca, his playing is amazing, so effortless yet powerful to his age. Saludos desde Colombia.
Eicca plays lead a lot too, but when it comes to the flowing melodies, Perttu has it. Eicca tends to do more of the grunge style pieces.

Well Perttu, Eicca and Paavo all have classical backgrounds and Mikko I think has a degree in jazz? But Perttu still does classical and writes in that style still (beautiful and his solo). This was awesome to watch though I've never seen them play when they were younger!

@MultiFail101 Do you mean the other musicians in this video? If so, that's how it always is. The soloist plays from memory while the orchestra has the music in front of them. That has nothing to do with talent; it's simply so the orchestra can place all the notes properly if/when the soloist decides to take extra time in parts where he or she plays alone. Accompanying soloists is one of the most stressful parts of playing in an orchestra.

He is actually a natural blonde. His hair is only died black, and now he's starting to let the mix of blonde and gray(my apologies to the other fans that disagree with the gray part) show through.

I play cello now an I personaly know that ill never get this good :')
Ive been playing viola for 20 years and I'm still nowhere near that good. Theres a reason this man is my musical idol.
Never compare yourself to others or bring yourself down by saying such things. He has his talent and his blessings, and so does you. I also play cello and I know how it is hard but, one rule all musicians must follow: never compare yourself with anybody, don't be so harsh on yourself. Even Piatigorsky said he had learned a lot with his students and admired their innovations and creativity. You must look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself: "what can I do so I can have my own voice and sound in the cello? I want to be myself not a copy or clone of another". Know where you stand and start from there.

With all the appreciation to Perttu and to hard and heavy music that I have as a cello player and music lover, I listen to this recording and wonder.....

Have you seen him live? He is pouring his talent into something unique . He steals the stage with his personality and extraordinary talent radiates fom him even when he plays metal
I don't get it? Don't you see how he is still using everything he learned now? He is probably one of the greatest cellist in the world. If not the best. It's even more enchanting to play metal/rock and mix it with classical twist
