Clearing Another House Lot

- Clearing and leveling another house lot to build a new house pad. I removed the trees and brush on the property, also cut the grade down on the south end of the lot and moved it to the north end. I still hauled in 6 loads of fill to finish the new house pad. I did not get any footage of hauling in the fill and leveling the pad and I can't remember why lol! bud burn yeah I’ve got access to a big morbark chipper but I guess it really comes down to price. The builder would just rather throw it in a dumpster when he gets one.

What I give for a flat lot right now. My current project has a house pad that drops 13' right to left and 5' front to back. Plus, it's on a crawl. It's been fun trying figure out the elevation.
On a good note, my new coochie will be here in june.

Wayne Tharp no they will let you burn a 3’x3’ pile. It would be nice if you could burn it. Save a lot of time money for sure.

james may yes builders are going around and buying the remaining vacant lots. They are getting closer to having them all filled up.
That was almost too much wood for that little coochie to handle! And I think we all know why you didn't get any footage of you hauling any dirt in, we'll just blame it on Mrs. Elite for not being there to supervise making sure that things get done right! ;-)

Hmmmmm.........you don't seem to have any concerns of differential settlement. Do you have soil engineers check the density of the pad and fill?
Bold Guy I brought the red clay in the following day. We have them but the city does not require them to check the house pads. They do on commercial stuff but not on residential. Plus no one wants to spend the money on building the pads correct. It’s the craziest thing to me. The city doesn’t even seem to care, they just want the footings dug to virgin soil is all they are worried about. Be interesting to see these houses in 5-10 years.

I cringe thinking about some of the house pads I did back in the day!!!
Now we over-x and recompact 1ft below bottom of footings:)
And then depending on the soil expansion index, place non expansive under the slabs!!!
