Block your bathroom vents too. Or run your exhaust fan. The particulate comes right inside during the night. And clean your furnace vents too. You’ll freak when you see the ash in the furnace filters. And maybe even change it or vacuum it every couple of days. I’m in BC and after the fires we’ve had here, I learned a few tricks for relief. Try to stay calm, do not spend time outside if you can help it. The headaches from this stuff are horrible too. Take care of yourself people, and check on your neighbors too. It will pass.

We're getting smoke all the way over here in South Dakota. The area that I'm in visibility is maybe a mile. It's absolutely unbelievable how smokey it is out here. Not to mention that it came all the way from Canada. 🤯

It not an environmental disaster. Wildfires happen all the time around the world. It is a natural occurrence in nature. Most of the fires in Alberta were deliberately set by ECO TERRORISTS.

I was wondering about allergies. I'm in Ontario and this was my final year for my grass allergies shots, but now I have a sinus infection (which I was prone to before the shots). I was wondering if my allergies combined with the smoke from the fires is causing my grass and mold allergies to act up.

What about immuno-suppressed people?
immuno suppression should not do much to affect your lung function. IMO your risk of being exposed to a virus or disease is no greater due to the smoke unless this smoke forces that person into close qtrs with people carrying a virus or contagious disease.
Since an immuno suppressed person should be wearing an N95 mask to avoid exposure to Covid, they are ahead of the game.

Even though the smoke is bad in AB and other area. first thing I thought when I read the title .. FINALLY a REAL reason to wear a mask. As these masks DO stop smoke particles but NOT Viruses. Guess Size does Matter.

Of course, the best solution is to just not burn anything at all wherever possible...
They Should Mention The United States Too Why Just Canada
I can protect myself and take measures as per the province, but what about animals? Our province is enriched with wild animals, and what is the province doing about it? They talk about us and our wildlife?
I live in arkansas you can never leave your windows open between the pollens and all the neighbors burning all year round. Now for the last week we have had the smoke from Canada and all the neighbors burning😷😷🔥🔥🔥🔥

I have type 1 Diabetes and with the on going fires my eyes hurt and watering. Never did I have headaches and now sharp pressure in my forehead. My nose runs and coughing. All of this is unknown to me until fire. Many in my community have the exact issues. I also have pets with coughing and eyes watering. The sky here in NEW YORK is clouded and thick almost light tan, gray. Does anyone else have same issues?

They aren't saying you have to wear a mask but I would still do what is needed not to breathe that smoke in. It's only outdoors. Having to wear one indoors because of a virus is what some didn't like.
