One of the greatest Tx.punk bands ever!!! I lived in Houston 1980/81 and we used to go to the Island and see The Dicks, Big Boys The Stains/MDC and even The Butthole Surfers!!!!! and that was one show!!! Good Memories!! Still have Live At Club Foot one side Dicks the other Big Boys
Yeah I was There 1976-1983....played, partied, worked the clubs.....Legionaires Disease band, Really Red, our band LSD, DRI later years.. played " Spit", the Rocksy, Plantation, Numbers, on the border, South Houston. Rauls Austin and Club Foot downstairs if I remember right and somewhere around St Elmo on Congress ave. Skated with Tim (Big Boys) a few times Island parking lot....I guess he still lives in Austin doing art or something....If he has a band let me know.
Texas produced some of the great and original bands of the punk era. Nice to see the fantastic Really Red get a well deserved mention, as they were as good as any. Turned down the Clash for a leg of a US tour after discovering they were a bunch of phony rock stars. Dicks are timeless, raw and real deal. Buttholes, Big Boys is just scratching the surface. All unique and among my favorites.
yeah, i wish i had better words but that's what punk is, it's about the spirit of things. i don't have words for you but i can say i feel where you're coming form. a lot of us have been there... mourn their deaths and celebrate their lives.
sorry to hear that ,, may they cheer you up in musick . i heav lost over 30 people to that sick remean . not nice for us left behind to hold and hold together the family left
It's worth a small fortune, hope you didn't sell it. Punk rock record collectors are some very dubious characters. I had some 7" records I got in the late 70s and early 80s. I paid a buck or two for them. Around 2005 I ran into some financial problems. I had met this dude before this who was always bugging me about selling him some records. Called him and sold him about 10 for $100. Mind you I was/am not a collector, I was into the "scene", I found out about bands from friends and flipside, max rock etc... and was lucky enough to a record store in town the stocked the stuff (and I actually listened to my records which this guy told me had lowered the value significantly). Who the f..k would have thought some of these records I bought for a dollar by bands who were lucky to draw 50 people to a gig, and more than a few that were total shit burgers could go for a few hundred or more. I tell you who did, this m..thafu..ka who got my records and turned around and sold them making a couple grand.
That 7" sold on Discogs for 3,200.00. I highly doubt Floyd would have ever wanted one of his records to sell for so much. Its the complete opposite of punk
More so I think. Funny (not really) how just about everything we were concerned about and singing about have become a reality. We were warning people about corporate capitalism and now it is more firmly in control of the government and economy than ever, and it seems painfully obvious that corporations basically shape the mentality of the public; also we have been involved in how many wars since the early 80s?; and the cops are more powerful now than ever, etc... Maybe the only thing that has declined somewhat (or at least they're not as visible is the religious right, not too many Falwells etc...). But they could easily pop right back up. So all of those people who gave us shit back in the day, it's not like you weren't warned. You only got yourself to blame
It was such a cold day when I found Jello stanning 2 party politics. Two wings of the same ghetto bird police state. I do love me some ol DK though. ✌️
This is my favorite 7" of all time. It's one of the most powerful recordings of all time. The Dicks Hate The Police!
R.I.P. Gary Floyd.

A good friend of mine who eventually took his own life, loved this album to death. When I listen to it, he's still here with me.

I'm sorry that happened, man. Keep their memory. Be grateful they touched your life.
I know how you feel.
On a positive note, you're able to experience an already powerful album, in an even more powerful way.

RIP brother Gary Floyd. May you return to earth again
Bought this 7" when it came out. It kicked my ass. All these years later, still have the vinyl, and it still kicks my ass. LOVE this band.
+Paul Escamilla Any way you'd sell it? Email me if so, QuinnMintrup@hotmail.com. I'd pay a good sum of money for it.

It’s not an album.
The Atlanta shooter said he was having a bad day....
This was the first thing I thought of
He didn't say it. It was the cops that excused his killing spree by saying he was having a bad day.
Which shooter is that?
