Had a chance to meet Mat at Wodapalooza. My brand new wife (married the weekend before and having our Honeymoon there) and I were up on the VIP area bleachers (overlooking the water). My wife Brandi starts tapping me urgently. Her eyes get real big and she goes "Mat Fraser is right behind you". So I very slowly turn around (because I don't want to scare him off like a sacred Elk) and there he is. He was talking to a couple guys, so I questioned bothering him...but...MAT FRASER. So I waited for an opening, walked up, and he was super gracious. He took a picture with us and I fought (successfully) the urge to ask him a million questions, because I figured he didn't want to be locked down in a conversation with two people he didn't know. It was only a couple minutes for him, but it made the day for us. A true Champion. Brandi and I proudly repped our "original" HSTL shirts and cheered you on there! Watching you slay that SkiErg with every last ounce of heart and energy you had...inspiring. Keep up the great work! "We Don't Quit".
