No matter how many years it’s been since I first played Budokai on the GameCube, this is the main thing I’ll never forget. Seeing the power of a super saiyan along with this music still gives me chills.
I still remember, me and my brothers were stuck on the final battle on Namek against Frieza. I was ASS at this game, so I stopped trying after the first time my ass got served to me on a silver platter. But then after watching both of my older brothers lose constantly I asked for the controller, and at the menu that shows your move set just before the fight where this theme plays, I let it play out. I let it build within me until I went into that fight and actually kicked Frieza's fucking ass. It wasn't flawless, it was a hard fought battle. But God damn it that is my most triumphant gaming memory ever.
I always thought of this as Goku's theme, while "Like a Burning Wind" was always Vegeta's theme to me. I think it captures the both of them wonderfully.

I’ll never forget that Christmas. We grew up poor and Never once thought I would own a ps2. Then i tore that box open and saw it with DBZ budokai. It might not have all the flashy mechanics but for me there’ll never be another DB game with music and cutscenes on this level. Here’s hoping Kakarot brings back the hype cuz it sure as hell is looking promising.

Generally speaking there is no DBZ game that captures the true essence of the cartoon but this game is the exception, the music in this game is so good on every power level that it puts the others to shame. As a lover of music its all good in every game but as a DBZ fan, Budokai's music is the best and is...OVER 9000!

Dont know why but in my head this was SS2 Gohan's theme. I knew its uses throughout but thats the image that stuck.
