- Why Is My Chilli Plant Not Growing : How To Get Rid Of Aphids & Fix Nutrient Lockout
We get asked this question all the times.
There are 4 main factors for the grouth of your chilli pepper plant, water, light, heat and nutrient (plant food)
Many of us start to panic when our chilli plant doesn't grow as fast as we expect them to, and start using more water and fertilizer.
Overwatering and over feeding, using too much fertilizer will slow the growth of the chilli plant (stunted growth) and nutrient lockout.
If your chilli pepper plant leaves are curling and the tip of the leaves are brown then your overfeeding.
Once your plants are experiencing nutrient lockout, you’ll need to act quickly to reverse it and free the nutrients. Otherwise, they will become nutrient deficient and begin to die.
Pests and Aphids is major issues when growing chilli plant at home. Knowing how to get rid of pests and Aphids will result in more chillies from your chilli plant.

Pruning the grow tip of your chilli pepper plant will promote side stem and there for you will get more chillies on the plant instead of one lanky stem and fewer chillies.

Salam brother, i found adding tumeric powder to the surface top of soil is an excellent way to deter the aphids and flies. Its organic, it can be found in all Bangladeshi households and you do not need to make neem solutions. Its very effective and lasts long. Have you given that a try?

Great video again. It wasn’t aphids that bothered my chilli plants last year it was those little black gnats that infested them. I have found a solution for that - diatomaceous earth, seems to do the trick and organic too.

How often should you spray with the organic spray
I just started my first seedlings of Thai chili and African Naga. They have to small leaves, they have been on heatmat with 28 C now i set them under my grow light, but seems leaves starts to curl a bit. Thats why im looking for an advice. When should i start to put my seedlings under grow light? As soon as they pop up from underground? I like your channel.

You can put your seedling under the grow light as soon as they appear. Just make sure you useing the correct intensity and not keeping light on for more then 18 hours.
Follow light manufacturers guidelines.

I dont think your doing anything wrong. The grouth of chilli plants are very slow in colder climate. As the weather is getting warmer you will see a change in plant.

Salam brother. I’ve been watching your videos for a long time now and thank you for the amazing tips.
I have a naga plant from last year. It has started flowering but the leaves on the plant are very small and curly, they are getting yellow now and the plant is self is not growing a lot. I transferred it into a bigger pot with all the necessary fertiliser eg. Fish bone, Epsom salt, potassium feed and perlite. I don’t know if I have added too much of everything.
Q: should I just take it out of the pot and wash the roots like u did on your video? Or is it not good for a one year old big plant?

Make sure your not over watering but keep the soil moist. As the weather is getting better you will see your plant growing. Be patient with it. Try spraying epsom salt every two weeks. Add 1 Teaspoon in to 1 liter of water of spraying bottle and spray thoroughly.

Which compost soil you prefer
I mainly use multi compost from b&q.
Any multi compost without added fertilizer
I cut back my chilli plants from last year, and re potted them using fish blood and bone, vermiculite, perlite and aspirin. I followed your instructions from one of your videos, and it is now May 2024, and there is no signs of life. do you think they are dead?

My chilly plant was growing well until a dew weeks back when asphids are everywhere. I have been using the spray but to no avail. Hat should i do? Its about 12 - 15 inches now
Remove all the aphids off the plant using a damp cloth, and then spray a good pestercide on the plant.

If you are living on this Earth it's impossible that you don't have any Soil available, take any Soil and from you tube learn how to make compost .
Use vegetables and fruit s peels .

What food to give when chilli plant have 4 leaves only.
Can you please make a full feeding video of chilli plant from seeds upto flowering.
You can use a liquid seaweed fertiliser until the fruiting stage, and then use liquid tomato feed
Finally after 8 weeks, my chilli seeds germinated and they are growing very slow. As you said I think I watered too much and also fertilised. The plants are 1 cm tall and has 2 small leaves at the top, so i think they are too little and weak to plant into another pot. But I noticed that the leaves of 2 of them broke leaving the the stem without leaves. What can I do>
