I had a dog (named Brown Dog, I found him on the road and was trying not to get attached). If I was late for feeding, he'd pick up plum sized stones and put them in his empty dinner dish. I still miss him.

Nigel, Enjoyed seeing the new pots. They'll look fantastic with your bonsai. (Have to tell you that we adopted a Boxer/Shepherd from the Humane Society before Christmas. He also has "pet rocks" in the yard. So glad that I learned another shepherd has that habit.)
That’s funny he has bonsai growing in his vegetable garden. I have some tree growing vigorously in ours that I don’t have the heart to remove, so every time it gets too tall and starts to block the garden light, I chop it. Maybe one day it will make a great bonsai by accident.
An excellent video, as always. I just wonder, importing marble pots from across the world... You must have local businesses that produce gravestones or kitchen worktops? Is it worth approaching them to see what they could do with their off-cuts? Just a thought.

@@oscars85 super similar, shishis have much more curled leaves but similar growth pattern. Kotohime are also supposed to be much faster growing of the two, shishigashira is hard to come by for me so I've never had one
One day I'll have a collection of trees as well. Still trying to figure it out. I suck growing from seed. Potted trees, I'm just starting to be able to keep alive. I seem to only be successful growing in the ground, so far.
Next step for the plant room... Marble floors! My roommates got a new rottweiler puppy which steals rocks, tools and even eating trees, forcing me to build cages around everything.

If you clip the flowers on the lavender, it won't try to immediately flower again. Fun thing I discovered this year with mine.

I planted the seeds from a pomegranate and I had really good germination. I'll have to see if he has a playlist for his.
The maple that you couldn't remember the name is kotohime, I recently lost mine to some sort of fungus but they are lovely

They aren't used as bonsai very often, but they can be spectacular!
