- Learned a few things mid run and I think I could get 6 mins but wanted to post this run for the moment. Was a little rough but overall good I think.

Hands down the tensest encounter I had with this Deviant other than the last quest before the EX version, was with that death spin. I had Adept and absolute evasion, I pressed the evade button for the head, and landed for the tail and got the adept evade before the tail could hit me at the last second. That was tense.

I was wondering why would you position yourself near his stomach/neck in the first couple of KOs but in the final KO you just attacked upfront. I had to look it up to find out when he is in super rage mode, his horns weakness surpasses the head zone. Well done!

This crazy diablos is the 2nd monster on mhxx that gave me nightmares, i wouldn't dare hunt it alone nor without sneak skill on my HBG set. It's diving attack is like a homming missile, brrrr......and when its body is overheating it would let out steam explosion on wide area, killing anyone in it's range.
So basically just stay close and under him most of the time most of the hard hitting attack has a decent wind up
Bloodbath looks so fucking scary. I've always hated diablos and now capcom to him to another level... like it wasn't enough to bear with the idea of a hyper diablos

Can anyone explain why he's using only XXAA instead of XXAAA?
Higher number of hits overall, due to high recovery on that last A attack, especially good for elemental SnS
it's neither of those, it's R+X,X,X,A,A final X is too much animation commitment for little damage, final A is ok if you know you're breaking the combo to dodge/reposition/etc.
Finally, a slow diablos.

Curiously, why not run water attack +2? I've seen quite a few elemental runs that use a more crit-focused build instead of traditional elemental. Just trying to understand why that's the case.
I know this is an old comment, but basically my understanding is that monsters are weaker to the raw portion of your damage than element (for melee weapons). So you overall get better damage by investing in skills that effect raw damage (such as crit skills) rather than [element] attack +2, since element skills effects a smaller portion of your damage dealt to the monster.
How do you do that combo with SnS? SnS and HH are the only 2 weapons I don't use and I want to start using them. Good run btw
Edgy Edge three standard hits from the base combo (y>y>y) followed by I believe the side slash combo (a>a) without the roundslash finisher

@@alep8765 It's actually X,X,X,A,A. The first hit of the combo has to start with you guarding (R button). Hope this helps.

My question is I would say a normal fight in worlds is around 15-20 minutes but you can do them in around 2-5 so when I see these are longer I wonder how long a normal hunt takes in this game

If you use an armor builder app and plug skills in it will tell you if you even have the talisman required to use the pieces. Armor was jho cena combo with haya iirc

Hes doing 5 hits most the time: R+X, X, X, A, A. You avoid the Shield bash (Which sucks) and Pressing A again does the round slash, but it's pretty slow
