Surprising.....my brother went to US in 1978... sister soon after...then my son went in 2000... very many cousins too are doctors etc there.. they wud take a few homemade delicacies... maybe just a gift or two...I took a mini Idli batter grinder as a surprise....my son was wild! None of them ever carried or couriered anything like this! We celebrated our dgtrinlaw’s Valaikappu in DC & later the baby’s Namakarnam in a Temple...we took along all the bangles and sarees etc & traditional return gifts ....all other things we bgt at the Indian Shop...Patel ...we have never done this...nor do we get fancy unwanted stuff from there...nowadays everything is available...but I saw another another lady too do a haul this way for some occasions at her place...the pleasure of giving and receiving is there yet it can be avoided for many reasons...anyway each one his own ideas! Yes some unique stuff or traditional item is good...I remember remember gifting my own siblings a pair of huge brass lamps each during their visit for their 1st home home...also sent a sari for an occasion they couldn’t come for! Just that.. maybe a pack of vadams / appalams..they wud bring..those days only a box of Pringles or Oreo...we get all in the Malls & in Kinara shops now! Good Wishes for ur new home & greater prosperity & growth!

For that it's better to buy from here like pressure cooker caskets, milk pots, groceries and best to buy tickets for your and your husband's family
They will be very happy even if you ask them if they were not able to come
That's what i did, saved money and bought tickets to my parents and to my mother in law at the same time 30 yrs ago so that they can come here to see our house and our kids in person rather than photo ( no what's app, no face time , no Skype, no zoom at that time)
Have no words to describe their emotions and their feelings

When we came 40 years ago, these facilities were not available (like sending things from India etc )
We got used to survive with what we got here at that time (no idly rice, no poni rice, very few lentils, very few vegetables, no tamil movies , list will go longer) but celebrated all Hindu functions traditionally, our house warming, my baby shower, குழந்தை தொட்டில்& பெயர் சூட்டும் விழா , முதல் முட்டை & காது குத்தல் functions grandly with friends
You guys are so lucky to have such a wonderful parents and also should thank the companies to pack and delivering things from all over the world🙏
