He adds a lot of fun silliness and I hope we see more of him.

14th was lovely, seeing Tennant return was great and the fact that he brought back so much of his old energy/dynamic while still making it a new character/iteration was, in a word, fantastic ;) I haven’t gotten a chance to watch the Christmas episode yet, so I don’t have a fully formed opinion of 15 yet, but just from the amount we got in the toy maker episode I am optimistically a fan so far !!

I wouldn't say Ecclestone is the "best" Doctor, but 100% agree that one season was a crime. I mean, I was in diapers when Tom Baker was on the show, but I watched reruns on American BBC with my brother (he was born in the 70s and grew up with the 4th). I didn't like Peter Davidson purely because I was too young to understand why they changed actors, and I didn't find him as silly. He wasn't "my Doctor." I didn't even bother with Colin Baker. Then Sylvester McCoy showed up. By then I was 6, so I honestly thought it was "my Doctor" again with a haircut, haha! So he's the one who was truly in my childhood. Not "the best" but he and Tom Baker were "my Doctors." Sadly, by the time I was old enough to TRULY appreciate Doctor Who, it was off the air. So I watched Tom Baker reruns. Ecclestone revived my love for the Doctor. I was instantly smitten with his slick look, wit, and humor. Because I had such bad early childhood memories of the Doctor changing actors, I was really upset that they change him so suddenly. He deserved far more. Funny enough, I'm watching this while my husband is downloading a new game, and when you fixed your screen, I checked mine. Sure enough, TH-cam also downgraded me. Back to 1080 you go!
