    Hey everyone! I just wanted to quickly mention that although this video uses visuals of General Romodi from Rogue One, this video discusses Romodi’s story from a 100% Legends perspective. That said, the Rogue One Visual Guide has left it open for a lot of General Romodi’s story to be carried over into Canon, including his admiration from Tarkin and his military service at the beginning of the Imperial era. Just another reason for us to enjoy Rogue One. :)
    Thank you very much for your incredible support recently! I can’t thank you all enough and I hope that you all enjoy today’s video.

      @@starwarsreadingclub Tarkin, in Legends, was the embodiment of stoicism and imperial loyalty. He embodied this idea of empire above all, but also held to the good that comes from stoicism and self improvement, all the respect for history and rule, hardened, of sacrifice for unity. He's one of my favorites.

    Tarkin remains one of my favorite characters and I absolutely love seeing the parts of the Empire that are more positive, the heroic side, because there is one. While I'm a fan of the EU I really disliked the killed Tarkin's son story because it hurt a pillar of this. Tarkin was always and would always be loyal to the Empire, it was everything he wanted in terms of a future and Tarkin is a man of principles and loyalty to his ideals above all else, and it was a shared loyalty. I love moments like this.

      Which came first, star wars or warhammer?

    • @ingenna6434
      @ingenna6434 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Commissar Lord No, a quick glance at Wikipedia reveals that the first 40K rulebook was published in 1987 and the first Warhammer Fantasy book in 1983. Star Wars on the other hand came out in 1977 so ten years before Warhammer. All of the original movies were out before 40K was a thing.

    • @Nathual
      @Nathual 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ingenna6434 Actually I think that is after they had to split, because one of the creators decided to take his ball and go home. The WarHammer universe was under another name before the 80s. From what I have heard the universe came out much earlier, but after Lord of the Rings. It was to sci-fi what Tokin was to Fantasy.

    • @ingenna6434
      @ingenna6434 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Nathual This split you mention actually happened in the early 90's with WH40K during its first edition, I believe. The first edition of 40K had the 40K name but was known as Rogue Trader, which may be what you are thinking about. Rogue Trader was published in 1987. Nevertheless, the company that invented, patented and sells Warhammer to this day, Games Workshop, was opened in 1975 so the world could not really have existed before that.

      There's actually a bit of lore on the gunners. Long story short, the Rebels destroyed the first Death Star only because the Main Gunner hesitated to fire when Tarkin gave the "You may fire when ready." command. Don't remember which book, but there's a book that explains that the Gunner hesitated to fire for a few more seconds hoping the Rebels would blow the station, as he couldn't bare the burden of his job after Alderaan. Pretty cool/grim tidbit of lore.

    Besides this video giving me information about another talented imperial officer, the other reason for me to love this Video is, that it shows a very positive aspect of Tarkins personality. :)
    Though I already before saw him as someone who is rather fair. Do your job, and you don't have a problem with him, do your job good and he'll keep your effords in mind. ^^
    Besides that, I don't think he was the type to care much about the war over career and prestige in the empire (as long as he wasn't the target of someone).
