Doing a first-time player experience would absolutely help draw more players into this. The main issue is that there is so much content and options that a newbie is easily overwhelmed.
Agreed re options and details, there's a lot to take in and imo you have to be quite keen on the dnd thing to start with to wish to persevere here :) Actually when i was starting out there were no free quests and my content was pretty limited. It took me a long time to slowly unlock new packs with points, but i still think the free quests thing when it came was great for the game & also think there's room to make plenty more stuff ftp to give newer players a better taste before deciding wether or not to commit $$$ to the game. There are several decent new player guides around, i see Axel has done one recently which he's also posted on the forum - i've always liked his content - if i'd to choose one creator to watch it would be him.
Great play through and advice, Ive been grinding through lives on the path to completionist X3 everything. I get so repetitive in the quests i play I dont deviate. Ill give this chain a try.
Hi there and thankyou :) Repetition to me is really difficult when it becomes almost set in stone. Don't get me wrong, i understand - there are quests & chains that are by common consensus the most efficient path around the wheel or best use of potions if you use them. But variety is nice to have also & helps keep things fresh. Spending a little time at cap on raids/legendary quests is one way to do that & varying the quests/chains you try is another. Of course my motivation is affected somewhat by not wishing to show each time the same thing, but even without that i do like trying different chains/quests when i have options as i'm going along. Completionist is quite a nice goal in itself as it pushes us towards discovering the different elements and playstyle of each class - good luck on your travels & may the road always rise to meet you!
Great content as always and useful information. It's busy season for me so I've not been able to get as much play time on my arty and have only just managed level 7, but hoping to make up a little ground this week. I find the hardest thing to do is find the right timing to trigger the AOE attacks. I'm not having much success at distance so I'm going to try to allow them to surround me like you suggest, however that is a bit of a scary prospect with some of the enemies I face. As an aside, funny moment for me in the depths of despair quest with the huge violet slime/ooze. I split it into about 486 slimes and generated 10 reapers before I knew what hit me. I died soon after, but that was mainly because I was laughing so hard I was crying and couldn't see the screen. What a moment of education. As I have focused almost exclusively into the ranged damage I didn't have a good alternative. It happened to be my rune arm that helped me get through that. Cheers.
Hi Brian, game is there when you have time for it matey, there's no rush :) You seem to be enjoying the class so far which is the main thing. For aoe i've found the best is to hit a pack from distance if they and you are not moving, or as you said already to let them get in close and hammer them that way. Ince you reach 12 for that 2nd aoe, your first with any luck will knock many down, and the 2nd will finish them off. Trying aoes on moving targets is less likely to be successful, especially if you also are moving when you try. Ah the ooze sigh. Where to even start with them? Rune arm is the obvious answer yes, or later spells like arcane tempest could also prove helpful for those situations. I can relate to your story - the bear and i had a quest not so long ago where we both were running this build and made a hell of a mess - reapers everywhere, 2 of which were vengeance - no way we were living through that - lesson learned - next time take it slow with the rune arms & maybe have an aoe spell slotted just for that possibility. Bon courage for your busy season matey, take care....
@drzorbo3770 it's nice but in many cases it's likely a net loss as only short duration and the time I spend casting it is time I don't spend shooting. If I were grouped with an air savant or three I guess it would be more valuable:)

The 15% boost in dmg with the Motes looks legit. Thanks for showing this chain
