      @@nouralnajjar5804 I've had a 2018 1.2 turbo petrol grandland for the last 4 years and i'm still more than happy with it. Used as main family car for 4 people including 2 small children. Bought at 23k miles, now at 50k miles.
      Caution however, wetbelt issues in the engine similar to many other car brands/models. If you don't keep an eye on it and regularly service your vehicle as advised, it can cause a total engine failure. Had to replace my wetbelt at 48k miles but thankfully costs were fully covered by Vauxhall as it's a known fault.

    Almost every time she reviews a Vauxhall she makes disparaging remarks.
    Looks are subjective and not everyone wants to stand out.
    This SUV will probably age much better than the Peugeot.
    In five years the Peugeot will probably look old but the Vauxhall won't.

    If it had a VW badge this would be the “carbuyers favourite”. The peugeot is a bloated and overhyped car, like why does it have a small flat bottom steering wheel when it has very low horspower and is jacked up. The peugeots interior is the fake carbon fibre vinyl of car interior. And the reason why im watching this video is because carwow doesent have one.

    • @donmacalister9323
      @donmacalister9323 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Totally agree.
      What is it about UK reviewers and Vauxhall?
      Take a look at the European reviews of the identical Opel version and you get a very different picture. European reviewers recognise a car that not only compares very well with to the Peugeot 3008 its based on (the Peugeot of course being hugely praised by all the UK motoring press) but is actually better in some important ways, not least in interior space and comfort (the front seats are superb) but also in ride comfort as well.
      Yes, like the Peugeot the Vauxhall has some shortcomings (steering is certainly not the tightest) but why praise one and slam the other?
      We are a strange country...

    I don't think the gorgeous Ginny likes the Grandland too much! I've ordered one as it was all I want in a car when I test drove one. I've ordered the Elite Nav 1.2 auto. I want a car to be easy to drive, comfy, quite and well equipped which I found the Grandland to be. I only plan to keep it for about 2 years as I'm not convinced the little engine will last as long as my present car with 115,000 miles on it. I enjoy Ginnys reporting style so always enjoy her TH-cam vids, keep up the good work girl!!

      Too late, I picked it up this morning! I did look at the CX-5, a VERY nice car, but I wanted an auto & didn't want diesel which they don't do. I exchanged emails with customer service who stated that they had huge response from customers asking for an auto petrol. She also said that such a configuration is in the pipeline for latter in the year. I've only done 65 miles in my Elite Nav Grandland and it's a really nice car which I'm pleased with.

      @@Omgiamsotriggered I only had the Grandland for a few months. Was VERY disappointed in it once I'd had it for a while. I found it very flimsy inside, the Infotainment system left a lot to be desired and I couldn't get the fuel economy anywhere near the official figures. Best I got with the little 3 cyl petrol engine with auto box was 36mpg. I loved the design though both inside & out but the build quality left me disappointed. Eventually part ex'd it for a Pre registeredAudi Q5. Still got this car and it's built like a tank & gives me over 40mpg.

    Regarding the interior, what’s good is that the screen is nicely integrated and there are clearly laid out real buttons. There’s a tendency these days to stick separate screens on top of the dash. Some makers have conned the public ( and journalists) that it’s cool The real reason is that it’s cheap. You can make do with natural, as opposed to forced, ventilation. I think Mercedes started the rot ( apart from Tesla). I bet the engineer got a bonus. “ Wir können viele Kosten sparen, wenn wir den Bildschirm einfach darauf setzen. Aber die Marketing Leute müssen die Kunden überzeugen, das er teuerer statt billiger ist.”

    ''Generic'' - spot on and also seems a little half hearted. Buy a Skoda. Looks as good as a Peugeot (and arguably won't date as quickly) but is more reliable and has a better-sorted (i.e. doesn't crash or slow down after a few months use) infotainment system. Then there's the Mazda range that just outshines them all...

  • @taqveem

    I had one of these on rental for a week and it was great. Initially it feels like a diesel but was infact a petrol which at 2krpm above it was quite responsive. I understand the blandness, but it wasn't that bad given the price-range I wouldn't expect more. Overall I would give it a satisfactory 4/5.

      Funny that, I had a mokka as a hire car for a couple of weeks (awful car) and it felt and sounded like a diesel to me. Went to fill it up before returning it and got dead confused as to why the diesel nozzle didn't fit haha didn't cross my mind for a second it was actually petrol

    • @taqveem
      @taqveem 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jamesphilipson1289 haha, yep, the petrol nozzles are designed smaller so that you don't accidentally fill deisel.
      I may have been a bit generous earlier. I would give it a 3/5, but it's a cheap and cheerful SUV.

      Just had the 1.6 diesel as a pool car and can honestly say it’s the worst car I have ever driven. Engine sounds like it belongs in a tractor and the gearbox is terrible. Not bad looking on the outside, but does look cheap and low quality on the outside.

    A charming lady .... It is very striking that she is definitely not objective about this car. Her mind is only with the Peugeot 3008. Nothing is good about this car. She completely destroys the car and hardly talks about the driving characteristics. What a crappy review this is. Stop this kind of reviews if you can't be objective.

    Nice review! This is a terrible car.. I rented one from Gatwick , I really didn’t believe a modern car could be so bad. The handbrake release button is stupid, the LCD is impossible to see in sunlight, the boot is a nightmare to open, the seats made me sweat (might just be me), it drives with incredible dullness and I was convinced it had no engine. Happy it only cost me £90 for 3 days from Avis - who were great, by the way. Don’t buy one!!!! Ok, the brakes were good.
