HAHA at clean bathrooms. I'm actually in a hotel so shout out to The Hilton Garen Inn. Also, thank you for noticing the cinematography. It's always appreciated when people acknowledge the time and effort.
Hallease. UGH. You are storytelling GOALS. And we funnily started our locs around the same time. I'm currently dealing with the fact that my hair is way thinner in the front and thus my locs are thinner in the front as well because they were started with the notion that my hair would eventually fill out. Hasn't happened yet and I don't know if it will, but I love them nonetheless. But yeah, back to storytelling. LOVE your style. Can't wait until your art not only supports your life but the philanthropic dreams on your heart as well! Blessings and cheers! ✌🏾️
5:06 was such a beautiful moment! Your hair is beautiful. I've been loc'd for 4 months, and I absolutely love my hair! The coolest part about it all is, I didn't think my hair would look the way it does, naturally. About shifting, it's simply what we should do in life, period, with hair, career, relationships, whatever. Shifting in my opinion is a sign of growth and maturity! Thanks so much for always having wonderful videos and telling the stories I love to hear :)
I envy the ease of your routine but like you said this freeform life ain't for everybody. I washed and didn't retwist a few weeks ago. My roots said "girl nah, let's create a bird's nest at the roots after she already took time to separate us." It be yo own locs...
Hahaha birds nest lmaooo.. but I feel you some people Embrace that and that is why you have some people's hair that looks like Tree Trunks and grow into different kinds of shapes some people just keep their Roots separated and don't retwist. The point is each person is an individual and folks need to respect that & KNOW THEMSELVES!!! gorgeous hair!!!!! My loc journey will be starting soon EXCITED!!!!!
Okay? Lol. My roots are dense and I have a texture that's about 4b and frizzy. I have to retwist at least every 2 months or the congos and tangling, Chile. It's a problem😂

There’s no better feeling then when you find your balance within your loc maintenance. I’m comfortable in saying I found mine within 12m15days of my own loc journey! Also I just wanted to say your locs are inspiring as well as your beauty. awesome video btw you have my subscription.
Your locs are so beautiful!!! Hard to believe its been 2.5 years already! I started Sisterlocks 1 year ago. Thank you so much for sharing your journey!!
I’ve watched this video maybe three times in the past week. I’m kinda on a loc video binge. Something about this video in particular is very relaxing. Especially the beginning bout college and the shampoo becoming more accessible..
Weight of my locs causes neck pain and headaches. I have to keep them above a certain length. I love the volume of semi free forming, but my hair is fine and somewhat soft, so I struggle with breakage. Every month or so I clarify with a natural dish soap. I'll be 10 years next September.
I'm already considering the length I want to maintain. I think i'll let them grow to about bra-strap and then after that just maintain that length. I have no desire to have more hair than that on my head. Especially when I think about how often I wash
I've had my locs for 12 years (trimmed 7-8+ inches twice) and I still love watching loc videos just like yours and for multiple reasons. You are so gorgeous :-) Thanks for uploading.
You are doper than I can handle. I love the aesthetics of your videos and I love you! I have had sisterlocks for two years, but I still watch your videos for loc advice. Thank you!
That’s how I knew semi freeform would work for me. My hair grows in my locs. My locs look full and unique. People still mistake them for twists…I started with coils. However, I had to get used to separating my locs. The key for me was doing it when damp to get the large or long hairs out from other locs. Then when it’s close to being dry…very close. Wrapping the loose hair around my loc so it doesn’t try to sneak out again 😅 love the video ❤
Your locs look great. I wanted to semi freeform so much but I found that my hair grew away from the loc causing a very frizzy look with thin locs. Now I retwist once a month with much better results
Love this video. Love your narrative voice figuratively and literally. Love your locs. Love all around. I’m trying to let my locs be. I’ve been getting a color itch lately.
The quality and content of this video is AMAZING! I just started my semi free form journey a month ago and I love it! This is my 3rd loc journey. The previous two times I maintained my love every two weeks. My edges paid for it too!! :(
I've said this before but, everything about this video is great the aesthetic, the track, the content, the composition...and the most important line of the video, and to the loc community "If something isn't working....just shift" I've watched this video way more times than I'd like to admit.
That is so true, EVERYONE'S loc journey is DIFFERENT. For ME, I choose not to Americanize my locs, I'm FREE FORM. some have to do it due to their jobs or or just because. But there are others that......like my niece would say!!!! LET IT GOOOOOOOO!! LET IT GOOOOOOOO!! LET IT GOOOOOOOO!!
Your locs are literally my goal. I’ve had this image in my head of how I wanted my locs to grow into and I’ve been searching the internet for it and I’ve found it: your locs. I’ve been growing my locs for 7 months now, but I don’t think they will turn out the way I want them to. I’ve started them by twisting them (no specific size, just twisting with my finger) then had those interlocked like the 3rd month and haven’t had a retwist since. But my hair is thin and I don’t think they would lock on their own
❤❤❤ right now I'm in a place where I'll retwist them when the spirit moves me. I started out wanting them to be done every month, and super neat, but 1. That's expensive and 2. I dont have the patience. I'm happy with the way my locs look now.

This is exactly my hair type, down to the colour even. It took trial and error, some near misses and also some stumbled upon hacks to get into the place of unity with my locs. I started out with comb coils and maintained by re-twisting, but when my locs started thinning out and my then loctitian refused to consider other maintenance options such as interlock, I stopped going to him and chose another loctitian who happens to be my cousin. He started interlocking my hair, and my hair regained strength and thickness again. Since then, I have limited re-twists to 2-3 times a year. Right now, the thought of being semi-free-formed is sounding more and more appealing. My last maintenance was in April 2019. I want to see what it would be like not to interlock until April or May 2020, because I notice that my hair now grows into each loc mostly, thanks to the interlocking.
Queen your locs are absolutely gorgeous. I will be a year on my journey Nov 26, its been a challenging year but im loving my journey I usually retwist 1 to 2 months I decided to wait longer to retwist. Thanks for sharing
