That ice scrapper has a great personality and is just the right size for the job. Anymore and your hand starts cramping.
I prefer the longer ice scraper, feels better in the hands, scrapes farther then any other scraper and keeps my window satisfied.
@@LoveTaps63it’s a lot harder to get it to work right when it’s too long. Lots of thrusting but no satisfaction. It’s not about size, but how you use it.

I remember when I was stationed down in SC and one morning all the vehicles had ice on the windshields. I walked out, saw this, popped the trunk, and pulled out an ice scraper (much to the amazement of some Marines). When I was asked why I had one I just laughed and informed them I was from Maine, and we always had them.

My friend lived in San Antonio for 7 years, on a rare occasion that they got snow, she said you couldn’t find an ice scrapper anywhere. We’re originally from Minnesota, so every gas station has them.

Clearing the ice off a girls window will actually get you laid down here...the trick is getting her car to your house on a night that actually leaves ice on the window.

I remember dudes took off early while I was picking orders at a refrigerated warehouse. We would end shift at 6am in Wisconsin. Got out 10 minutes late and they’re all chatting while their cars with their thermal gear on waiting for heaters to warm up. Saw me start scraping with a credit card and they all came over with their scrapers without a word. Dude had a spray bottle with diluted antifreeze and even got my wipers free from the ice.

I have none of these. I have something called a snowjoe. It has a rectangular foam head for removing snow, and a regular ice scraper head on the other end. You can screw the head off for easy storage or to use the other side easier.
I love the little ones with brass edge :) Never got dull, cleans windshields perfectly and doesn't scratch them. I''d never want to go back to plastic.

The “show’r not the grower” is the superior scraper. Modest, and gets the job done.
I have to have the long extending scraper/ brush. I'm 5'1", and love my FJ. It is always reliable on Montana roads. I even have to use my scrapper to lift up that 3rd middle wiper 😂

Grandpa’s ice scraper has a wood handle and it’s been repaired by sistering it with an old hockey stick.
In fact, everything he owns is repaired with hockey sticks.

It’s not only hockey sticks. Back in the days, broomball was somehow even more popular than hockey. And pitoune which is like hockey but with broomball shoes.

@@TheFiddleFaddle I misspoke. While it does look like such a combo it's more like the handle of the scraper is inside a mini parka for your hand so's it don't get chilly if you's forgot your gloves.

The Classic real " Ice scraper "
is made with wood, brush and yes, the old plastic scraper. Had mine for twenty years, until sadly, yeah. I left it in A car I junked.

Those are the best. The ones with the scraper on the same end as the brush suck. Scraper gets in the way while trying to brush.

I've had one that looks like Grandpa's ice scraper for years and years. It came with a car I got from my dad. That thing is the best.

I bought a car in May, and my mom made me buy an ice scraper. I mean, sure, the next year it did snow in May, so she wasn't being entirely crazy, but except for about 2 months of the year, you might just want to get that ice scraper if you live in Wisconsin.

yep, i'm only 5' myself, i've seen people snicker when i've popped out of the ram. the windshield meets the hood literally at the top of my head. we own a garage, auto repair, so now we just use those long yellow foam squeegy kinda things to pull the snow off. started doing it with customer vehicles and ended up buying one for home as well as we can get a meter/little over a yard over night. but.. you know you don't have to scrape if you ceramic coat/rainx your windows?
Wipe back and forth for 40 minutes while spraying more windshield wiper fluid and cranking the heat
Don't forget the second ice scraper in your car.
Grandpas scraper or even the tiny one at the end are the only scrapers you won’t have to replace before the seasons over

I live in the South now, but still got that ice scraper in my car. Twice a year when it's actually cold enough I feel like the smartest guy in town.
I actually prefer the 1 foot ones because it allows you to get more force on the windshield. Luckily this year we haven't had any snow in Minnesota 😂

I had to use the cedit card before (gift card), but after a few minutes I got tired and used the card to clear a small patch and then used the shops air compressor to blast air between the window and ice. Worked like a charm.

I’m in Texas and i don’t even know where id buy an ice scraper and every yr when January hits, i shiver and wish i had an ice scraper.
As someone who is from the south I have only ever seen the ones that look like the last one. Did not know the others existed until now.
the ice scraper my parents used were: a rectangle of thick plastic. there was also a mythical brush for snow that only appeared when you didn't need it, like in summer. some say it hibernates through the winter.
I got given a mitten/tiny scraper mix and it's been a perfect roadside companion.

The small one is the one you keep in the glove box for when youre out and aboot. The classic is great because the brush pushes the heavy snow so you don't break your windshield wipers after a blizzard. I live in Hawaii now, but did 6 years in Michigan. 6 long years man...
Glad the credit card made the list, it's been my go to since I started driving in North Dakota 18 years ago, and it's never let me down

I have one of those expandable ice scrapers and they’re quite nice for getting snow off the roof while not covering yourself in it. A bit cumbersome but I got it as a gift one year and I quite like it. I drive a Honda so I could probably get by with a ol fashioned one but I’ll take the added comfort
The best ice scraper has to be the metal bladed ones because you can actually get any thick ice off.

I still have my ice scraper/snow brush combo from Idaho even though I haven't had to brush snow off in 25 years. It comes in handy for when the ice needs that extra bit of power to scrape off
I got the second one because it was on sale and it’s actually pretty nice for clearing the snow off my tonneau cover and roof
Scratched up CD's used to be handy. Hockey sticks also work well.

My 10 inch $2 ice scrapper bought 10 years ago fits in that slot in the door very nicely. All these other gadgets? Not so much. Sometimes being able to be easily stored is as much of a factor as easy to use when you purchase.

I bought a 99c paint scraper from the paint section and it’s better than every other ice scraper I’ve ever tried. Shorter means less flex and less length of shitty product to work against you. Shorter is stiffer and cuts the ice better!

some are better for deer scraping others are better for snow brushing but the leftovers of the broken one that's been resharpened on the grinder but is only half of the extendo is my favorite... you're right the shorties are great loaner scrapers, 😢 I'll never get that fancy one back loaned out and lost in the lake... they were supposed to check for springs but they only looked at their wheels 😞

Ice scrapers are like snow shovels. You have to have different ones for the different conditions.
What if you own 2 of those? A long extending one and the classic one. Never know when you’ll need a backup.😂
