For the voice of Mario I prefer if Chris Pratt did the neutral voice while Charles Martinet did the "It's a me Mario" "Yahoo!" and "Awawawawa"
i prefer no pratt. and all martinet...lol. whose terrible idea was it that no one would wanna hear marios game voice for a movie??
i think people are used to it by now. especially if u been around since super mario 64 dayz.
@@ssppeeaarr if you been around since or ever encountered it you'd know that the Chris Pratt voice is fine since its a Brooklyn accent and Mario initially had a Brooklyn accent ever since the Saturday morning Supercade Donkey kong shorts in the early 80s and than again in the Super Mario Bros Super Show

that said n all trailers released im kinda used to it now. it is what it is. and no only fake mario n nintendo fans n ppl are the ones who could not handle a martinet voiced mario movie. let the french dub prove it to ya!! 👌

Although Mario could use his pockets for power-ups, I think they just added pockets to make his design more realistic.
I doubt that isn't Mario, it's clear he is, his design is just altered slightly to be more realistic and more fitting for a film.

@@ssppeeaarr Super Mario has never really had much canon. For all we know, Yoshi's Island could be a written storybook like the Paper Mario series.
If the writers want Mario to be from New York in this film, then so be it. If Shigeru Miyamoto was okay with Mario's origin being from Brooklyn, then it certainly must have some "canon" in some shape or form. Adding story to a franchise which has never really had a connected and straightforward storyline to begin with isn't necessarily "retconning".
@@CyberAtlasX1 well i think nintendo started to care when they made Yoshi Island on snes. ..choosing to go with their own created lore instead of anything from the super show toon. then from that game to all the others it was the established canon. mario n luigi came from stork n given to parents in mushroom kingdom. no secret warp tunnels. no new york. even tho i prefer the tunnels n real world link of the bros. cuz i liked that old show.even giving him that iconic italian voice. instead of brooklyn in sm64. then lol.
but then we have ppl giving theories that New Donk and the donkey kong games were always set in the real world. so idk. its a bit messy. im also suprised shiggy let the movie choose its canon. weirdly blending both nintendos games stuff and super show. never thought he cared much for the american cartoon of mario bros. or nintendo of jap even wanted that to be made back in the day. considering how strict they are with their IP.
but its nice they give respect to the old super show. it was great and did decent with what was given and games at the time.
@@ssppeeaarr believe it or not, during the time it was made in, the mario cartoon was incredibly faithful to the source material. They didn't have much to go by at the time, but they went with the art style shown on the promotional game covers, got the character's personalities pretty right, etc, I'm pretty sure nintendo thought it was ok but didn't necessarily work on it.

maybe charles martinet is voicing toadworth or the luma or maybe theres a mushroom that changes voices and make reference 🤷♂️ those are my 3 guesses
5:00 this is actually incorrect information, you can look it up yourself, when Mario first started being voiced it was the Brooklyn Italian accent by Lou Albano not Charles Martinet. Charles' stereotypical voice came later in the purpose to appeal to kids in the 3d games. Mario's early in-game Brooklyn accent started in old Mario computer games before the 3D stuff, Chris Pratt is going for that Brooklyn accent which you can slightly hear on his last line. Also originally Mario was never from the mushroom kingdom, he was always depicted as like a city boy or someone outside of the Mushroom Kingdom who only visits to the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario was never from there so this movie is more than likely going to go with origin story replacing the Brooklyn origin with new Donk City being Mario's origin of place which is clearly a reference to New York.
Let me correct you on something, the very first Mario voice actor was Peter Cullen. He voiced Mario on the 1982 Saturday morning Donkey Kong cartoons. Also the Brooklyn story was never mentioned in the games, the Super Show and Movie are the first ones that did that. But the Mario 64 manual said Mario does come from Brooklyn so it was mentioned on the 64. But before that was Yoshi's Island when Nintendo changed his backstory in that game he was from the mushroom kingdom brought there by a stork. Nintendo confirmed that Yoshi's Island is canon but keep switching his back story back and forth.
@@akerumiyamoto Nintendo did not confirm Yoshi's Island backstory was canon, at least not real Cannon, otherwise they wouldn't change up the backstory again, that should go without saying, it was probably Canon to the Yoshi story universe but not the Mario cannon as a whole series. ORIGINALLY Mario was never from the Mushroom Kingdom and that's just facts. Mario was canonically Brooklyn in "Mario is missing", and the Mario Brothers arcade game where you kill the koopas and the turtles, clearly they're going to make Mario from new donk city as the replacement of the Brooklyn origin which was the point I was making, everyone knows the Yoshi's Island story is not to be taken that serious as Mario cannon, even Nintendo knows that, that's why they never went back with that backstory, those are just stories for individual games, Nintendo tends to be making up stories for individual games but not to be all tied in one story, so to say Yoshi Island was a canonic story is not necessarily a true statement, otherwise again they wouldn't change it up lol it's just common sense
@@calvinospina7307 They actually did confirm it was canon. I read an official Nintendo article on it, but Mario is missing is not canon because that wasn't actually made by Nintendo. Like I said none of the canon games said he was from Brooklyn, the Mario Bros arcade only said that the game took place in Brooklyn but didn't say that they were born there, none of the games did The super show is the first time we hear about him being from Brooklyn and that wasn't canon neither.
