woah! lots of opinions about the warning at the beginning. each person’s gotta make their own choice about they interact with the situation. like I said, there are a lot of people who don’t want to hear Elliott’s voice anymore, especially associated to Tighnari. if the VO doesn’t bother you, all good! Just want to give people the choice. personally, I can’t hear his voice without thinking of all the horrifying screenshots I’ve seen on twitter. yes, the VA is not the character, but the association is there for me regardless. your opinions are just fine, what I won’t tolerate in my comment section is invalidation of the victims.

as you said at the beginning of the video about Tighnari VA , i’m absolutely disgusted, if i can say that, for what he did and i hope the victims can be happy again. That said, nice video about the Abyss and our queen Lisa
When the news first broke my initial thoughts were that, even if you were to give him the benefit of the doubt, he needs to be replaced and get help. I decided I could believe that with the information provided that maybe, just maybe, his apology was accurate and that he was genuinely going to step down and get help; that a step down from the position he abused would open up a path of healing for the victims and prevent further incidents.
That changed very quickly when more information came out and it was clear his apology was fake on almost every point. All it took was one more person to do this, yet the number of victims who came out with their stories tripled in a matter of a few days. More messages were revealed and more manipulation was uncovered so quickly I could barely keep up. There is not one statement made by him that holds any ground at all anymore. At this point it seems almost like this was his plan all along before he even got any roles as a VA. I no longer think that him getting replaced and getting help would be sufficient for me, he's an outright criminal and needs to be arrested. I hope justice comes quickly and that his victims can find at least some peace with the result.
Agreed but i'm not going to let his voice bother me after all it's a video game Tighnari voice isn't the problem the voice actor is the issues and yes disgusting.
@@annaairahala9462 honestly, i always felt he was a little sus. i assume he was putting on an internet persona, maybe he did at one time but became so comfortable playing an asshole that he became an asshole, or maybe there never was a persona and he is always an asshole. i don't know, but it reinforce my dislike and red flag for sussy persona...
but at the same time, i don't think the director or dish need to apologise for tighnari. no one can foresee this. and using tighnari is not an endorsement for the VA. but then i also don't play in english voice.

Fun fact about the "frog slowly boiling in water" thing, it actually does not work on normal frogs. the original guy who did the experiment, Friedrich Goltz, could only get a frog to stay in a slowly boiling pot if he removed its brains. Frogs with their brains still intact just jumped out when it got too hot lol

Remember, recasting won't be easily to do as Tighnari has tons of lines in his story quest as well. Maybe it'd take at least 4 patches to get its job done. 🥱

maybe they can take the time to make Tighnari sound more like his Asian counterpart... Tighnari should feel very soft spoken. Zhongli VA is way too dominating
There’s rumors going around that he’ll be voiced by Bryce Papenbrook. Best to take it with a grain of salt. Personally, I’m not sure if Bryce would match Tighnari? Yes, he’s got the sass, but Tighnari is a mostly calm, soft-spoken character and Bryce’s voice is very distinct.

Yeah he was in a great position - awesome character, awesome game, awesome fans - and he tossed it all in the trash. Nobody needed this treatment, especially not the victims.
It wasn’t that he ruined it.. he was always a bad person, he just hadn’t shown it yet. People don’t just do What he did out of the blue. It sickens me to think that so many people trusted this guy and admired his work, including myself, and never knew What he was really like until the victims started speaking up..
He was just a predator passing as human. He always had these sick, twisted thoughts and ideas, people just didn’t know until he was in a position that he could abuse to act on those thoughts. It’s just… sickening.

Of course, but inevitably speaking, it still and will have its negative connection no matter how hard we renounce and erase that fact and is now vulnerable to mostly anything bad about it too, just saying the sad reality of it is all...
Real good thing though is that they're slowly but surely starting changing those, in which it already does In-Game, now I just need them to do the same thing in the Archon Quests, his Story Quests and other dialogues, to their promotional announcements at twt, and even change its youtube vids about it too...
Then perhaps starting that, things might get better soon... 😔

Thanks for the warning, Dish! I main Tighnari but after everything came out, I haven’t been able to use him without thinking of all the disgusting things his VA did. I considered switching dubs but I really enjoy a lot of the English cast. It’s great that MHY are already in the process of finding someone else for him and phasing out his voicelines. I hope the victims of his abuse can find a little peace from this as they heal and hopefully soon he’ll face more serious consequences for his actions and the hurt he’s caused. Let’s support those who need their voices heard the best we can. ❤

the frog thing is that frogs adjust their body temperature based on the water they're in! their habitats are swamps and ponds and lakes so they have an ability to adjust their body temperature based on their surroundings. so the analogy of the boiling water vs slowly-heated water is true!

I honestly cant even explain the sadness i felt from Elliott doing what he did, honestly, he was honestly one of my favorite streamers and i think i even watched his stream earlier that very same day the news came out. I dont think i'll ever truly be able to hate him, i feel shitty for his victims honestly but i dont think i'll ever completely be able to realise that he actually did that, that its the exact same person who voices one of my favorite characters, is part of my favorite cast and has some of the funniest interactions. But still i hate him from the bottom of my heart for what he caused to others, he said it himself, he was weak. I dont know whether or whether not hes going into therapy but i hope he gets everything back to the closest he can get to normal.
The guy needs to go to JAIL, not therapy. The screenshots that the victims have provided are absolutely disgusting and unforgivable. He is a danger to society who grooms little 12 year old girls one second and then threatens them and insults them the next.
I agree i do think he needs to go to jail, tho to be fair i havent been catching up to the latest and smaller details but from what i understood he rejected minors, the victims were adults. It was still disgusting blackmailing, manipulation and just downright the acts of a shitty person.

Thank you so much dish for the heads up! I’m 100% his VA will be completely replaced so we can all enjoy the character tighnari again. The VA isn’t tighnari but I completely understand how you feel and how others feel, so happy for the victims to stand up and not be afraid to speak out. Hopefully Mihoyo will replace him very very soon.

i hate that the trigger warning was necessary (though it's very much appreciated). i main tighnari, and i haven't been able to use him since, not even after switching to a different language. i miss the english voices, and i miss tighnari, but i just can't bring myself to switch until they replace the voice actor. i almost wish they would just mute his english voice for now ;-;
Remember that Tighnari is not Elliot. Nari is just a bunch of pixels and Elliot's role as his voice actor is now the least important thing compared to what he did to real life people

someone else in the comments mentioned something called PFAS! (Pollen Food Allergy Syndrome) -- they said it has a large spectrum of what foods you're affected by (fruits, vegetables, and some tree nuts) and what symptoms. It centers around raw food, so maybe look into it!! :)

im not a minor and something like that never happened to me (gladly), but there was a man in their 30’s who kinda harassed me when i was 20.. now i’m almost 22 but there are still men around that are not that nice. reading what elliot gindi did really made me incredibly sick. i hope the victims are recovering from this.

Exactly. A friend of mine also said he doesn't associate the personality of the VA and the stuff they did as a human being with the work the VA did. And I think it's a very mature decision. It was hard for me at first to the point of me downloading Chinese VO, but now I'm probably just gonna wait since I decided to switch back to English after a while and try to follow that friend's point of view

Something i do to separate VAs from the character is to imagine them both in the same frame and see how different their personalities are. Someone made a fanart of tighnari slapping the sht out of gindi guy and i can totally imagine tighnari being disgusted and unforgiving to someone like elliot gindi. Watching trailers and other videos of tighnari in other languages might help too (i know changing the in game language might be bothersome so that's just an idea)
100%, but it's also understandable that people find his voice triggering.
It should go both ways; don't judge people for using the character, but have empathy and understand that "separating" is not as easy as it seems

I tried Chinese for my alt, but since I've just got Hu Tao there and been trying to play her, I can't play in Chinese since I really don't like her Chinese voice for most of the lines (I guess it's the timber or something, I remember having a professor at university whose voice gave me literal headaches, Hu Tao isn't nearly as bad but still kinda uncomfortable) so... I'll stay with English for now
