So since I use 3pl frost anyway, my plan is to just wait for 2.5 and get free Frigg A6 from store and just roll with that and save till Yulan, if yulan proves to need icarus for her rotation, then thats when I'll pull for icarus.
I went from Bygone 430 to BR 5 with Icarus, Saki, Alyss, will push again tonight if i have the time. He's definitely worth the pull. My next pull will be Yulan, since I only pull for frost char which gives me plenty of time to save the resources.
You did the right move, I have friends who skipped Tian and play some cope Nemesis, Fenrir and Lin team, and are stuck at 460 with amazing stats and limited matrices, while people with Tian, Fenrir and Lin are BR or 490 with way worse stats than them, people don't get this game is about teams not individual units, you won't get the full power of your frost team if you miss Icarus, even if you trade him for Fiona.

I rather have an a1 fenrir and use her skill and 2 claws for 3 skill uses than the 2 frost skill. It's a perfect rotation every time plus fenrir healing has a lot of survivability and slows all enemy and bosses down
I think he clearly says that icarus is not skippable for frost main, u know the comp consist saki, frigg, alyss, etc with no lin. In your case is rainbow main, then u can skip icarus if you think he's not worth to replace fenrir 😊
As mentioned in Maygi's video: A0 Icarus beats A6 Frigg if using A6 Lin, if not, you need A1 Icarus to match and A3 to beat A6 Frigg. For me, as a dolphin player, I don't see why I should pull for him instead of maxing Frigg from standard banner, unless I wanted a more enjoyable and spammy rotation. So I'm thinking in skipping him now, and if Yulan requires him to work, then I pull for him.🤔
That's where I'm at too. I have Frigg at A3, and have enough token to get her A6 as soon as she touch standard. I really don't feel like pulling for Icarus, but then we get video like this from Gateoo and now I feel bad for skipping him. In the end, I want Fiona and Yulan as next banners. I just hope Icarus doesn't become a "staple" for future frost comp. I would prefer Alyss by far.
Those of us with A6 Lin are getting screwed badly. We can't remove Lin without spending more resources (for a character/playstyle I don't even like). We might get screwed in the future for not having him.

Game was trying to catch up to CN, and people already knew since the beginning Frigg, Nemesis, Cobalt and Claudia were going to hit standard sooner rather than later, going into splurge while the game was running a marathon is such a huge mistake, even if global tried to balance stuff they never touched the mechanics which will make newer units better, also gold nucleus are insanely valuable. I doubt you have all standard at A6? or do you? do you know if you pull on limited characters if you fail the 50/50 you will get 10 flame gold? Until you don't have all standards SSR's on A6 gold nucleus and black ones are insanely valuable, they literally save you 10 pulls if you fail a 50/50, that's one of the reasons gateoo tends to A6 limited units in like 330 pulls, instead of people going to 400+ because no A6 all SSR standards, people just don't understand the basic concepts of the game but are ready to shoot with non-sense.

Its more for time limited events like bygone to pump damage faster. lets say his discharge animation lasts for around 2-3 seconds. by that time that's already 2 casts of his skill and would move on to your rotation. those two alyss pumps do more damage than his discharge. for lin users its so thst you dont mess up your rotation by getting a full discharge bar when icarus is your active weapon. having a wasted discharge adds more time to build it up again since all discharges should be done with Icarus TL;DR dps loss for timed battles
if u lowspender just a3 both or just a0 icarus since its good enough and a3 fiona. if u f2p, never 6s char unless u waifu>meta and u liked that char for u to 6s that.

my comp is saki a1, alyss a3, frigg a3 . Previously i used tsubasa a6 instead frigg a3. So do i need pull icarus or fiona? i have around 240 pull when fiona released
I think pulling on Icarus is work for me as f2p have a1 ally's a1 saki when I got Icarus my damage up 😂 35m / 1,50sec normalizes my damage only 15min in 2m 😂
Maybe I could do frigg alyss and icarus can replace saki so I have enough hyperbody protection. I guess icarus is about as good as saki for shatter with his trait.
Should be and Fiona's banner comes (27th) before his leaves. Fiona's banner does have summoning gifts though, so if you're going for those, it won't matter how lucky you are. If you're pulling for Fiona and don't care about the gifts, hopefully you get lucky and still have 110 red nuclei, after you pull her, then can still get Icarus. I'm probably going for Fiona's summon gifts, so I'll end up waiting for the new Frost weapon to decide if I'm going for extra stars on it, Saki or pulling for Icarus. I'm going to be extra sucky, for awhile more, but hopefully I can make a useful enough benediction team. I'm also hoping for an Altered Fortitude weapon, in the future, so Saki might end up being the best Frost weapon to invest in. I think after Fiona releases, Altered resonance will fit between mono-element and rainbow comps. Unfortunately for Frost, Icarus is probably the best weapon for Altered resonance, since Alyss's skill doesn't work with them and Saki triggers Balanced resonance. I'm not even sure if Saki's skill reset works in the upcoming Altered team, come to think of it.
My lineup right now is Lin Saki Alyss. So if I pull for Icarus and Fiona then Lin will be replaced by Fiona? And if I pull for Yulan then Yulan will replace Alyss?

Icarus is not a must have for frost mains so just pull for him if you like him or not. I pulled him last night coz he’s fun to play and managed to get him to 3 stars. He’s decent but CANNOT be compared with rainbow team dmg wise. So if you dont follow meta, you can skip him Edited coz i forgot the word dont lol
of course no one beat rainbow meta lol even with the latest volt and flame they are still below the full potential of rainbow shred res damage but fyi icarus actually complete frost mono comp(of course alter frost could still be better when fiona release) tbh icarus is not bad they are just skipping him because next banner is Fiona which is better and can be used in many comp

How is it not f2p friendly? you literally have units like Fenrir that on A1 can best older units at A5-A6, there's also new scylla and haboela matrices that are 75% the power of limited matrices so if you really wanted to you could just use those and don't pull on limited matrices, next patches we will have more ways to get copies and increase the stars on Scylla and Haboela too. There's rainbow teams and soon altered teams so you don't need to stick to one element, Fenrir opened rainbow teams and Gunonno will open more teams although not exactly rainbow, while Fiona opens altered and on 3.0 there's a very high chance of more multi-element teams. Saying the only way to enjoy combat is whaling or high spending is ridiculous, I have f2p friends that are slapping bygone with low investment teams like Fenrir rainbow and there's also people that have spent a lot of money but do peanut damage, just as f2p even if you spend if you're not very smart or know how to do it you will be useless, like whales could literally max 2 limited matrices and use them forever.

icarus's Matrixes are additive not multiplicative so it's going to get power crept pretty quick, you can get away with claudia matrices and it's about the same.

Kinda cringe that we are forced into pulling for an unappealing femboy character just to keep up with the meta, because the devs are so bad at balancing their game/care so little about their player base. His playstyle isn't even fun compared to the Alyss/Lin/Saki comp. It's literally a downgrade in terms of fun/enjoyment, but we basically have to pull him to not be completely irrelevant in terms of damage because of how scuffed this game is.
Hate being forced into pulling for an unimpressive character to stay vaguely relevant in the short-term and not get screwed in the long-term. Don't like the design, but would overlook it if the playstyle was more fun. All the jump canceling and spam is a symptom of poor design. Of course, Fiona is designed to work with Icarus, and everything in 3.0 probably will be too, so you can't skip! Better pony up if you don't have the resources, fun be damned. Its more for time limited events like bygone to pump damage faster.
lets say his discharge animation lasts for around 2-3 seconds. by that time that's already 2 casts of his skill and would move on to your rotation. those two alyss pumps do more damage than his discharge.
for lin users its so thst you dont mess up your rotation by getting a full discharge bar when icarus is your active weapon. having a wasted discharge adds more time to build it up again since all discharges should be done with Icarus

I just run fenrir in my ice comp instead of icurus and still end up top dps 99% of the time

I think pulling on Icarus is work for me as f2p have a1 ally's a1 saki when I got Icarus my damage up 😂 35m / 1,50sec normalizes my damage only 15min in 2m 😂
Maybe I could do frigg alyss and icarus can replace saki so I have enough hyperbody protection. I guess icarus is about as good as saki for shatter with his trait.
My two teams are frost and volt and the only thing frost is better in is cactus parse. I'm doing 10x better with rainbow in oow, bygone, raids etc...

Should be and Fiona's banner comes (27th) before his leaves. Fiona's banner does have summoning gifts though, so if you're going for those, it won't matter how lucky you are. If you're pulling for Fiona and don't care about the gifts, hopefully you get lucky and still have 110 red nuclei, after you pull her, then can still get Icarus.
I'm probably going for Fiona's summon gifts, so I'll end up waiting for the new Frost weapon to decide if I'm going for extra stars on it, Saki or pulling for Icarus. I'm going to be extra sucky, for awhile more, but hopefully I can make a useful enough benediction team.
I'm also hoping for an Altered Fortitude weapon, in the future, so Saki might end up being the best Frost weapon to invest in. I think after Fiona releases, Altered resonance will fit between mono-element and rainbow comps. Unfortunately for Frost, Icarus is probably the best weapon for Altered resonance, since Alyss's skill doesn't work with them and Saki triggers Balanced resonance. I'm not even sure if Saki's skill reset works in the upcoming Altered team, come to think of it.

based on experience id say Lan + Saki + Frost resonance activator; Either Lin (best for VA to activate the rainbow tank buffs) or Coco if you need to heal
Icarus is not a must have for frost mains so just pull for him if you like him or not. I pulled him last night coz he’s fun to play and managed to get him to 3 stars. He’s decent but CANNOT be compared with rainbow team dmg wise. So if you dont follow meta, you can skip him

this is why I feel like every element is trash in this game the balance is not f2p friendly and always force u to stick to one element ,,, as he said either do whatever you want or Target only Alter element and max them ,,, also this is total f2p perspective the only way to enjoy the combat is high spending / whaling ,,,
How is it not f2p friendly? you literally have units like Fenrir that on A1 can best older units at A5-A6, there's also new scylla and haboela matrices that are 75% the power of limited matrices so if you really wanted to you could just use those and don't pull on limited matrices, next patches we will have more ways to get copies and increase the stars on Scylla and Haboela too. There's rainbow teams and soon altered teams so you don't need to stick to one element, Fenrir opened rainbow teams and Gunonno will open more teams although not exactly rainbow, while Fiona opens altered and on 3.0 there's a very high chance of more multi-element teams.
Saying the only way to enjoy combat is whaling or high spending is ridiculous, I have f2p friends that are slapping bygone with low investment teams like Fenrir rainbow and there's also people that have spent a lot of money but do peanut damage, just as f2p even if you spend if you're not very smart or know how to do it you will be useless, like whales could literally max 2 limited matrices and use them forever.

icarus's Matrixes are additive not multiplicative so it's going to get power crept pretty quick, you can get away with claudia matrices and it's about the same.
Anti Lin propaganda. The comp works perfectly fine with Lin, and yes, it does edge out triple frost. This fantasy of mobs always running out of fields and you always teleporting away is just that, a fantasy. Yes, it's something you need to sometimes be aware of and play around, but that's actually, no joke, a skill issue. Same for Meryl back in the day. These minor inconveniences always get blown out of proportion by whiners. All such things can easily be managed with just a bit of effort and foresight.

Kinda cringe that we are forced into pulling for an unappealing femboy character just to keep up with the meta, because the devs are so bad at balancing their game/care so little about their player base. His playstyle isn't even fun compared to the Alyss/Lin/Saki comp. It's literally a downgrade in terms of fun/enjoyment, but we basically have to pull him to not be completely irrelevant in terms of damage because of how scuffed this game is.

Hate being forced into pulling for an unimpressive character to stay vaguely relevant in the short-term and not get screwed in the long-term. Don't like the design, but would overlook it if the playstyle was more fun. All the jump canceling and spam is a symptom of poor design. Of course, Fiona is designed to work with Icarus, and everything in 3.0 probably will be too, so you can't skip! Better pony up if you don't have the resources, fun be damned. And you know he's about to get badly powercrept, since he exists to make Frost vaguely level with the last round of powercreep. Except in the most unsatisfying way possible. Game is bad.
