What representations of disability do YOU want to see whenever the writer's strike resolves?

Very interesting discussion. I would be curious to know about the mental and emotional effects that being a disabled actor or an actor playing the role of a disabled person has on an individual. The strength and vulnerability that it takes to be in those moments. And how the perception of the viewing the performance factors into the individual in that role.

So glad you're enjoying this discussion! I will definitely be featuring more disabled actors and filmmakers on the channel to dive into these questions. Overall, from the conversations I've had so far, a disabled actor playing a disabled character can more readily offer their lived experience of disability to a more authentic performance. It's even better when a disabled character has also been scripted/written by a disabled writer. This allows the manifestation of the character and the story to be unhindered by assumptions or misunderstandings. 🤘
