All that shows me is, no matter how well Hurts plays, there will be an outrageously unfair narrative placed on him that he's not quite good enough. Meanwhile, Mahomes, Goff, and Allen can turn the ball over at an alarming rate each week and be celebrated for their resilience. Unfortunately, there is nothing Hurts will be able to do to be fully respected by even his supporters.

You can have five different QBs running the same offense and the offenses might look similar but still very different. Case in point Montana vs Brett Favre. Same offense with a play caller from the Bill Walsh coaching tree. The offenses looked very different but both QBs excelled. I think what people really don’t like is HOW Jalen conducts the offense. I think they just need to be patient. Jalen is running the plays a little bit robotic, he is running the plays as Kellen Moore is teaching them. 1st read, second read, third etc. I think the longer he plays in the offense the more he will understand the nuances and start riffing and creating his own melodies. Then, the offense will become dynamic and fluid. Honestly, I’ve seen most of Jalen’s college and NFL games. He’s so damn intelligent! He learns the offensive system quickly. But it still takes him time to “make it his own”. I think we got a glimpse of that with Steichen. If he can get there with Kellen, and I believe he will, we are going to win RINGS.

He throws bullets too to AJ on slants or curls. His soft lob passes on the check down is smart when throwing over a tall lineman so they won't block it. He always put the right velocity on the pass.
I said this over and over again, it's the weights he is lifting! Lifting weights, and putting weight, has slow him down physically, and mentally, but in the end, after sliming losing weight during the game his game picks up in the second half! If he slims down some, he would be more effective.

Hi Silz I appreciate your show. I’m not an eagles fan. Nor really NFL. But I’m a fan of a good number of the players on teams because I’m a fan of college football. Keep in mind J. Hurts has not regress. The kid gets better and is pretty stable as a player. I understand you might be an old school throwing base offensive guy, but tbh that is going away. The mobile duel threat QB will eventually win a Super Bowl and you won’t be able to stop it. Eagles Fan for 50 years and Herm will always be one of my favorites, just a great guy! Jalen is a winner, but except for 2022 his play has been average most of the time. Last year was a real disappointment and Jalen struggled because he could not scramble.

Jalen has a tendency to lock onto his target and predetermine where’s he’s gonna go with the ball before it’s snapped .
