  • Back in 2017, Hazel-E let her Twitter fingers get the best of her as she referred to Black women as "monkeys." Now, fast forward a few years later and Erica Mena is currently on the receiving end of that conversation. We asked Hazel what she thinks of the situation and she didn't hold back! Check out the full interview NOW, right here on our TH-cam channel.

    • @brandywine5689
      @brandywine5689 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +40

      This is true, however, if my memory services me correctly prior to Iyanla gathering her together on her show Hazel stood ten toes down on her colorist statements! Also the only reason anyone thought she was "another race" is because Hazel said she was half Puerto Rican and how her mama told her to stay anyway from black girls because we would be jealous of her and hate on her becauseshe was lightskin! Now I give Hazel credit for her growth but I only give her partial credit because it had to be drilled into her head why she was wrong before she finally saw the era of her ways! But she did see the era of her ways and that's what truly matters at the end of the day!

    • @SpiceyKy
      @SpiceyKy 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +45

      @brandywine5689 Of course it would have to be drilled into her head if her MOTHER reared her that way. Think about what YOU just said.
      That's like a child being raised in the Arian Nation. It would take an act of GOD to change his beliefs as an adult. But once he does, everyone commends him.
      This is just a case of her being light skinned. Just like her MAMA taught her. But now she's learning to be the bigger woman and not need your forgiveness because she WAS convinced. Now your turn!

    • @Cigana-Da-Estrada
      @Cigana-Da-Estrada 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +24

      Sorry, but my dad (who is black and the same shade as me) told me the same thing when I was growing up-- that darker-skinned black girls would be jealous and would not like me. My experience was that he was right, at least partially. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Whether it was because I'm light-skinned or some other reason, I have no idea. All I know is that the majority of darker-skinned girls treated me with animosity and didn't like me when they knew nothing about me. As far as my experience as an adult, I couldn't really tell you, because I avoid other women because I don't need the bullshit that comes with hanging out with them. But the few women I do hang around don't treat me like that, so maybe it was just children being cruel. 🤷🏽‍♀️

    • @SpiceyKy
      @SpiceyKy 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +29

      @Cigana-Da-Estrada We've all had trauma at the end of the day. I grew up in the 70s when it light skin was in. But the darker girls were horrible to me. Yet, I watched how my family treated the darker folks bad. And teased and bullied us lighter folks until we literally CRIED.
      Eventually I realized we're all just showing SELF hate. And that's all it is to it.

    • @Cigana-Da-Estrada
      @Cigana-Da-Estrada 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

      @@SpiceyKy I definitely agree with you on the last part. My grandma (my father's mother) raised me, she was brown-skinned. Out of her 4 kids, 3 were my color, only my aunt came out brown-skinned like her. From what they've told us about when they were growing up, my aunt was teased for being "too dark", and the 3 lighter siblings weren't "black enough". 🥴 I used to wish that I was darker so that people would stop thinking I was adopted or left on my grandma's doorstep as a baby. Maybe it all comes back to that "wanting what you can't have" and everyone just wishes they were something that they're not. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I do love being black though, I wouldn't have it any other way.

    When Hazel said “You’re not sorry!” I felt that. One time my brothers Hispanic wife got drunk one night at a family event she called my brother the N word multiple times when they got into a disagreement in another room. I then heard my brother say “I don’t like when you call me that” and she just laughed. When I confronted my brother about it he told me it wasn’t my issue and I was just in shock. I have never looked at her the same and her and my brother have 2 small children together which they keep distant from our side of the family.
