Thank you for this. Being on the wrong side of the Pond, I don't get to see interviews/have conversations with artists doing the sort of stuff I'm passionate about as often as I would like. This fills that void a little bit.

I've to get up for a flight in three hours and should be asleep ages ago yet I can't stop watching this... Excellent stuff Myles, great insight into the traditional music scene in Ireland - plenty of hugely talented artists here who I've encountered before and some new names too - great to give them exposure in your own artistic way, love your work!

As an Irish Australian Ive thought for some time that something extraordinary was happening in Irish folk/traditional music,,an interfusion of modern/traditional,,,a new plateau,But I guess music lovers everywhere have seen it I asked TG4 to make a documentary about it,,but now youve done it, A superb film, We Irish are worldwide,,Irish music is our lifeblood, Diaspora,,stupid word,When Joyce was in Zurich where was Dublin, But Irish music has universal appeal,,,some of the best players now are Japanese German Swedish, I think it has to do with the Indo European origins of Irish music, Oh well, Pity the Saxon stranger is on heat again, You use the Celtic calendar to date Xmas, Buy a foal off the travellers

Incredible 'bandwidth' analogy at 4:36 I had intended on just watching the opening few minutes and putting it aside til tomorrow evening but now I'm committed. Feels illegal that I get to see great content like this for free, especially when I know how much time and talent goes into producing a documentary. Where/how can I donate a few bob?

Half way through -- this is wonderful!
Have you seen the documentary "Sound of Heimat"? It's made by a New Zealander who travels Germany looking for its traditional music (which,we'll just say, for historical reasons is hard to find) or its influences in modern music. Well worth a watch, if you can find it.

Hi! My dad said to watch this. He brought me straight to Cormac Begley at 6:23, I'm a concertina player myself... Do you have any idea what tune that is?
The minute I heard it I was blown away, and I've never heard one of those kinds of concertinas. I need to find a website or video which gives a rundown of all the different types ^-^. Went right to the end to get the baby concertina 'Maggie in the Woods'...

As ever with yer filums, Myles, ye make me almost think Ireland/Dublin is inhabitable again... even if I fecked off out of the place over a quarter of a century ago - having drawn the opposite conclusion. Yer wan Zoe Conway should do the dacent thing though and acknowledge where she got that beautiful song she sings from - Cork legend Ger Wolfe
