The saddest part is that a guy just trying to make a buck for his family who is waiting at home depot was killed for absolutely no reason. He had nothing to do with this. Very very sad. Why would he pull out a gun and shoot? Wouldn’t he try to rob them first? His story didn’t make sense from the beginning. He shouldn’t be getting a “pass” even if he was former law enforcement either.
That’s ONE of the saddest parts. The other is that Linda was just trying to live her life and take care of her children. Greed and arrogance led this monster to Redrum two good human beings and orphan his own children! 😢😢😢
He is Just Low-Down😠We marry & share our lives with our Killer's everyday& Night.I don't care how long you we may know someone, but you can NEVER TRULY KNOW anyone.Very Scary😢
I think it’s amazing that the police actually did a great job investigating one of their own officers and found the true killer instead of automatically blaming an innocent immigrant.
The Sheriff deferring to an Independent investigation agency was the best move. People are not beyond evil just because they wear a uniform. Prayers for Linda & Marcial's family members.
How awful. Not only killing 2 people (one of which is his wife) but then trying to ruin the name of one of his victims. I can imagine how the family must have felt. And to top it all off, he robbed his children of parents. RIP to the victims and I hope their families and friends can heal ❤
Common sense tells you if someone is going to rob two people IT WILL NOT BE TWO COPS AT GUNPOINT IN THEIR OWN HOME! Seriously?? Not to mention how much bigger Yancy was than his male victim. Condolences to both families.
I've never seen a defense attorney that didn't want to hear what took place.... Only what was on record.... smh "Don't lie to me..." that gets said quite a bit.. but never what she said..... 🤦🏻♀️
@@charrielyn1231 I'm kinda perplexed at his counsels answer in respect to the question upon how she articulated that she had objected to certain things. Then said she couldn't object to much as it is giving jury an impression that defense is nit picking so to speak. When objecting leaves those points open for argument in defendants direct appeal. Upon notice being given orally on record of defense in behalf of defendant. As well filing notice in court same day guilty verdict has been rendered. She in essence precluded lots of potential arguments from being made during the appellate process. That's not truly being an advocate of client just my opinion and these public pretenders ain't no good either....yet they practicing law 🤔
He didn't want to be married to the wife anymore evidently she found out he was doing something dirty he hired that guy make it look good shot him killed her blamed it all on him sick and gun probably came from somebody else cuz he's off the street there's no way that guy's got that kind of a gun.
You could just tell by the way he was looking while sitting in court that he was numb to it all. He looked defeated like he knew he was caught. It was obvious from the start that it was him. Smh
I'd rather just know what happened than keep being interrupted with the opinions of three blabbermouths. And the defense attorney was a real moron for talking to this show.
So did he actually shoot his wife and then shoot the yard worker or did he set it up with the yard worker to shoot her and then shoot him so he had no witness
That husband reminds me of my pops with his yard. My dad will be outside (Literally) all day doing anything & everything in the yard. But the end result is ALWAYS PHENOMENAL. 💯😊
the defense Atty is being paid by the public to defend a criminal and trying to be a smart ass....!!! for justice's sake he's killed 2 not just 1 people... have you ever thought of that poor guy's family waiting for him to come home..!?
I know where he got this idea from I saw it on forensic files. The guy shot his wife and blamed it on someone she got fired for harassment and there was one about a woman in the military and her coworker that got set up and shot by the husband. Smh these shows definitely inspire weirdos 🥴
i’m 1 minute in and i know how it ends. husband confronts wife about affair- passion - rage- murder, covers it up as a robbery gone wrong. because robbers aren’t after your 1$ bills y’all
I heard nothing about any affair on the wife’s part - HE had affairs… and he wanted to get rid of his wife for life insurance money of course. The most common reason.

Just love Tamron Hall! She’s great!
Thank you for a new Someone They Knew Court Tv
Yay!! Is this show coming back?!?! New season?
@@gmimi2I hope so 🤞🏽🤔‼️

Law enforcement get the biggest pass, fortunately that wasn't the case here
He tried to pin it on the "Mexican" day laborer thinking people would look down on someone from Mexico.
Tamron is always looking extra sharp! 🥰
Well...not how she is dressed though 🤔 She f up ..washed her pants with dark clothes 🤣🤣
She is beautiful ❤
Yes indeed, I love her ,
She’s always looking fab 😍
@@JXDMNNand she still looks good regardless and thats her real hair dumbass

I believe they fully investigated only because the victim also was a cop.
How awful. Not only killing 2 people (one of which is his wife) but then trying to ruin the name of one of his victims. I can imagine how the family must have felt.

I will NEVER understand why people would ever think they can kill their spouse and expect to get away it 🤔😡☹️😤🤦🏾♂️
It's always the partner. 🙄
Just madness smh
He was a cop so he believed he knew enough about crime scenes that he could and would get away with it.
How in the world was his family not at least charged with conspiracy to obstruct?
How do you know that they weren’t?
I'm thinking that one of his family members was the confidential informant. Perhaps they got immunity for the info.
Common sense tells you if someone is going to rob two people IT WILL NOT BE TWO COPS AT GUNPOINT IN THEIR OWN HOME! Seriously?? Not to mention how much bigger Yancy was than his male victim. Condolences to both families.
Did the day labourer know they were police officers?
Good point. I didn't even think of that. That would be a suicide mission to try that.
I’m sure the day laborer didn’t care or inquire about what the people hiring him did for a living!!!
You made the very best point of anyone! No one in their right mind would try to rob 2 cops like that.
I miss this show! Tamron hall was a great story teller . Bring her back.
Tamron Hall is always a class act 😊. She's really the only one on Court TV that I enjoy watching.
Judge was complicit by setting bail so low
It’s always NOT the help . It’s always the sheriff, the pastor or the significant other. Pow! I’m a crime show addict .
Oh I was missing this show..it has been a long time since last one
Its shown on court tv most times
Same! I hope this is a new season?!
This is old though…
@@jordangamble3515 yes, I know , it's annoying
Being a deputy he didn’t think things through thank goodness. Two lives lost over greed, just divorce for goodness sake
I wouldn't want this lawyer defending me EVER!
So, she's going shopping and flashes about $5k in cash in front of a perfect stranger. Interesting.
They don' t take your passport when you get out on bail??
40 seconds in and that pathetic "Linda please" told me all I need to know....GUILTY!!!
Now back to watch the rest and prove myself right.
Lol 😭
Good to see another episode!
Tamron is wonderful ❤
Such a sad case and such betrayal 😢
Derrick is guilty already by telling the officer what happened to his wife condolences for the wife families members and friends
Tamron is very classic reporting these episodes
Should've gotten no parole. Cops get the most leniency for no reason
I've never seen a defense attorney that didn't want to hear what took place.... Only what was on record.... smh
"Don't lie to me..." that gets said quite a bit.. but never what she said..... 🤦🏻♀️
Beautiful home, lovely neighborhood, great careers, and when it's all said and done, we are all sinners saved by grace. Money ain't worth it!
You would think as a police man, he would know how to rightly set this up without making it clear it wasn’t a set up.
Because he was not as smart as he thought he was! They never are!
Now that's justice 111 years and for what to lose your soul
Court tv needs to create a new channel and show things like this often
Oh thank you , another new episode..... finally
I looked at the pictures & heard the 911 call & MY FIRST thought was the husband… smdh For him to think he would get away with that is crazy
Love Tamron!! ❤
There was another case exactly like this. Can't remember the names. It didn't work that time, why did he think it would if he did it?
From the first couple of minutes it’s obvious who did this.
A bail that low after killing 2 people?? 🤨
This reminds me SO MUCH of the Thomas Randolph case… even the crime scene photos are similar.
I don't understand how people can defend people that they recognize is probably guilty 😢in my opinion
this is a repeat. I love this show, I wish you would make some new ones.
Did the family at least give some money to Marcel's family?
Like the old folks say "Bout...Finally!" It's been 5mths since I see my favorite commentator

Wow, I used to live in that neighborhood. I never heard of this story.
What was the point of that defense counsel?? I guess when you’re given bad facts, you don’t have much of a defense.
tamron fine af
I remember this on snapped
Welcome back 😊 ❤Where have you been?
I personally knew Deputy Yancy. He was always respectful, encouraging, and jovial. This shocked everyone in Dekalb County!
FINALLY
The music alone scared my punk ass 15 seconds into the video

I know that story, that's a good one!
Oooooo🤔
It's a few stories out there exactly like this!! Sad
8:34 Is a spontaneous statement just any crime confessed to a mandated reporter??
She's back!
You know you would think from an officer that spent years as a cop would know better with the way he said that scene up. Prayers to her family

😂 it’s life
I never expect a reply from the channel host. Other people comment, though.
I can’t believe he sat stone-faced throughout the entire trial. He has ice water in his veins
His lawyer looks like Hakeem from Moesha @14:06
Oh yes
In court, why this dude looking like an old Tariq St Patrick? 🤔

Most defense lawyers, including this one, disgust me. They have no issue lying and sitting beside evil.
That's what defense attorneys do....like it or not....the accused is afforded a defense
It's their job, but I get the impression that his defense atty never believed there was any real way of defending him.
I don’t care who is offended by my comment at all.

There was no affair on her part, also it was not a heat of the moment type thing either.
Im 8 min in. I think he set up the gardener to kill his wife . We shall see…
