With every other war we say there were good people on both sides and we were all fighting for what we believed in but with WW2 people always say one was good and the other was evil. Human nature is morally gray, it’s never as simple as good vs evil, everyone has both good and evil inside of them and war often brings out the worst of both sides hence why I’ve always found it strange that that seems to be one of the only wars where you aren’t allowed to criticize the “good vs evil” narrative. Based on what I found out about the movie I’m sure some will be scared away from watching it but I still intend to see what it has to say and make up my mind about my own opinion on it once I’ve seen it. This isn’t an endorsement of the film or me stating it’s historically accurate it’s merely me stating I will give it a fair chance due to the inherently biased nature of our own history and the fact at least some elements of this film are likely to be more accurate than our own history since they go against the narrative.

I was recently reading a book about the many atrocities committed by the formerly imperialist japanese government during the 1800s and early 1900s and I gotta say it's incredible what Japan has done since the end of world war 2. There are still issues in Japanese society that intimidate me as a foreigner but I have incredible respect for them and our other allies.
