Thank you SO much for this video. I’m a girl and kept looking up videos on results for when you don’t wash your face anymore out of desperation. All the the dozens of ladies I watched were long as hell and didn’t give any clear direction as the what they were actually doing step by step… your video is the only one I found that was clear and provided exact directions. Even the water part… I was SO thankful when you specified the hot/cold part and to not scrub with water just splash! Even the sensitive dove soap you showed is what I obsessively scrub my face with 3x a day…. Thank you so so so much for your guidance. I know this was posted years ago but you’re awesome and I appreciate you 🙏 28/F

Hi guys, I've been on this regimen for about a 2 weeks now and I have had great results. Most of my acne has gone away, all I have now is acne scars(hyper pigmentation) and oily skin throughout the day. This regimen has worked great wonders to my skin. Remember everybody is different and it might not work for everyone but have faith and stick to doing this for around 3 to 4 months for best results . Tips to go by: Only let water hit your face once a day in the shower. Make sure your water temperature is luke warm, NOT HOT or COLD. Remember to change your pillow case every other day. Be confident. Have Faith.

no body no I don't put anything on my face. I try to limit my sun exposure daily. But what I do now is I put on a face mask every other day. It's called the Indian healing clay, I mix it with water, lemon juice, and olive oil, to get my skin from being dry.

Mauser sencion No, it is not. I still get occasional "small" breakouts that last me a week or so. Like little ones here and there. My hyperpigmentation scars are fading slowly. My face has gotten better. My skin is not bad, it just has a decent amount of hyperpigmentation. Other than that I think you should keep going. I recommend wetting your face twice a day, because my face looks better when I do so rather than just once at night.

Hey Toby - just wanted to let you know that you're the fucking MAN! You inspired me to start this regimen at the start of summer (2 months ago), and it's been working like a charm. I've been struggling with acne since I was 15 - I'm 20 now.
My skin tone is starting to revert back to normal after being extremely red, dehydrated and plagued with large pores for the past 3 years (after 2 years of using abrasive and harsh products). These days, I'm getting maybe a couple small whiteheads a week (down from the six or seven a day) - and the whiteheads I do get go away by the end of the day.
Something I will say to anyone starting this is that I did get seborrheic dermatitis a week into this water-only regimen. My skin got these crazy red rashes/bumps and the dead skin that sloughed off was yellow. I got rid of it by rinsing my face with salt water (4 tablespoons of dead sea salt in 3 cups of water in a large bowl) - just splash once per area. I'd do this once every other day for a week (or however long it takes to get rid of the rash)
*I used dead sea salt from a brand called Minera.
Here's also some things I've learned since starting this regimen that may help others:
    1. a. Use COLD WATER (not ice-cold, but moderately cold). I started this with warm water first and found that this did nothing to help my dehydrated skin. Since switching to cold water 1 month in, my skin has made insane improvements.
    b. Avoid taking long, hot showers. The steam from the shower dries your skin out, which causes further irritation. Keep it cold or keep it short; or even better, keep it both cold and short.
    2. It might be beneficial to skip some days of splashing your face with water. I cut down the amount of days I workout from 6 to 3, just to give my skin a break. I try my best to only rinse my face every other day.
    3. When you come to the inevitable moment where you absolutely must exfoliate, use your clean, washed fingers. You need to do this gently (no added pressure from your fingers). Make minimal contact and slowly exfoliate using a circular motion. Don't exfoliate the dead skin that won't naturally come off - it means that it isn't ready to come off.
    4. Try to avoid sun exposure during peak hours (10 am - 4 pm). I know it sucks, but it's just for a couple of months. When you absolutely must be outside, wear a hat. You might need to supplement with 5000 IUs of Vitamin D3 (extremely important in skin healing) due to not getting the optimal amount of UV ray exposure.
    5. Drink a lot of water and eat a shit ton of veggies and fruits. There are so many vitamins and minerals that play a role in healing skin tissue. Therefore, getting the optimal amount of these micronutrients will more than likely expedite the healing process. I try to make sure I follow this by drinking a green smoothie (apple, kale, strawberries, blueberries& avocado) and eating a salad a day. Focus on the dark, leafy greens (none of that iceberg lettuce shit - think more spinach, kale and arugula) and orange-colored veggies (carrots & sweet potatoes).
    5. Get enough SLEEP - the body does the majority of its healing when you're asleep. Prioritize your sleep!
I think that's about it, haha. In the past week, I started using a 1:5 diluted ACV spray and rosewater spray. I use ACV spray on days that I don't rinse my face with water, while using the rosewater on the days I do (spray rosewater on face after splashing with water). I'm not sure if it has been making any differences in the healing process, BUT I also haven't seen any drawbacks, such as irritation or increased breakouts. I'll keep you guys posted.
Thanks again, Toby. You're fucking awesome. I definitely wouldn't have tried this without your videos. I also want to thank a channel called The Unconventional Life. I found it on the recommended channels from your page. The chick who runs it, Brianne, also gives a ton of insight on a minimal routine (I got the ACV and rosewater idea from her). I'd give all her acne and skin-related videos a look-through - insanely informative about her modified caveman regimen.
If anyone has any questions for me, let me know. I'll try my best to answer them.
    PEACE!

      @nikolaiforrest8252 7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

No problem! It was the least I could do - I'll definitely look out for your next video.
EDIT: Also, just a quick update to anyone who reads this thread -
I stopped using the ACV toner as I noticed it was drying my skin out and giving me small breakouts - nothing too bad, just some small whiteheads. I think my skin needs a couple more months of healing before I start adding anything (aside from water) to my skin.
Aside from the minor breakouts from the ACV toner, this past week has been pretty great. It's crazy to finally feel how normal skin should act after so many years - no itching, no burning, no tightness. The breakouts are pretty much insignificant now - its really just the red skin tone I'm waiting for to go back to normal (I've seen a good amount of improvement in the last couple weeks).
To anyone trying the modified caveman regimen, PLEASE give it at least two months. This regimen is different as you see improvements NOT while your skin adjusts, but after your skin adjusts. The huge improvements I've seen are very recent so just hold out for a couple more weeks if you're at the one month mark.
As always, if you have any questions, let me know by replying to this comment thread. I'll try to get back as soon as I can.

Your comments just really inspired me to give this regiment a real shot. I'm 32 years and I've been putting a fuck ton of shit on my face since 18. Harsh face washes, anti aging products and benzoyl peroxide. For years! Its now interesting to think about how my acne came about to begin with.
All throughout high school I had flawless skin and all I ever did was splash water on my face in the morning. Then when I was about 18 years old, I started getting a couple pimples on my chin. I responded by putting egg whites, toothpaste, bar soap, just bullshit on my face . That's when my acne started getting really bad. So I went to a dermatologist and they gave me more shit to put on my face. "Here, fuck with your face some more," is what the doc said. And it worked pretty well with clearing me up, but apparently it was just a band aid, huh? I get mild breakouts and my skin looks thin and weak. Like.. not natural. So i'm looking forward to seeing what this regimen is going to do for my complexion.

Watching Toby's videos last August are what finally made me decide to go through with the caveman regimen. The process took much longer for me, about 7-8 months since I have been using harsh soaps and benzoyl peroxide much longer than Toby. And it was very challenging mentally, as my break outs became worse and more frequent. But I'm so thankful I did it. My skin is finally clear after 15 years of acne and trying to clear it with harsh products.
If you are out of your teenage years and still struggle with acne and try constantly to fight it with products and overwashing, TRY THE CAVEMAN. It is a temporary struggle but a potentially life changing one.

It wasn't until I hit 18 and started wearing cheap makeup, using face wash and moisturizers is when I got horrible cystic acne throughout my twenties and I could not figure out for the life of me what I was doing wrong!! Like you said, the people that had the best skin around me did NOTHING. It explains why children have perfect skin and even those in poorer countries that don't use face products at all because they can't, they have the best skin!! The redness faded away after I stopped using face wash too. I love my skin again!

Ever since then, I haven’t had any more breakouts, the scars began to fade away, and my face just felt better and healthier overall. Everyone’s skin is different so I’m not sure if this will work for everyone, but I definitely recommend giving this a shot.

If anyone on this video is struggling with dry skin after using caveman method and quitting moisturizer, I suggest using organic aloe vera!!! It’s a cactus looking plant you can buy at the grocery store for less than $1 per branch. I personally cut the branch in half, cut that into cubes and put those cubes into the freezer for a cool / soothing aloe Vera face massage cube after warm showers. Hope this helps ❤️❤️❤️

It all boils down to the ***PH BALANCE*** and this pretty much goes for everything from our skin to your hair, mouth & other internal/external parts. When the ph balance gets disturbed then we begin seeing its effects and so with skin we'll have breakouts, with hair it will depend on the ph of your scalp AND CIRCULATION. It is not expensive to have great skin. Some breakout are due to a hormonal issue and for that you could speak with a Esthetician and together you can implement a good skin care regime into your day. People with acne prone skin have sensitive skin. There is a deficiency of Linoleic fatty acid. They are prone to clogged pores, and have a baseline barrier weakness and baseline inflammation of the skin. Less is more. Even water can irritate sensitive skin. Cleansing is not necessary unless to remove makeup in which I recommend a gentle makeup wipe. Some people swear by bioderma micellar water but I find wipes even more gentle and less drying.

Okay guys I’m doing this, started yesterday and I’m going to go for a week. I’m on day 2, woke up like an hour ago and my skin doesn’t look any different so far. I’ll keep you updated
Day 3 - just looked in the mirror, my skin always looks better in the morning butttttt it does look a bit clearer. Might just be placebo effect but I’ll stick with it, very difficult to not moisturise
Day 4- just woke up and looked in the mirror, my skin does look really good, still some spots but not that many. I have had a new one on my nose but that’s literally the oiliest place I get so that’s understandable. I’ve also noticed the pigmentation from the previous spots are fading a bit quicker than they have before. Still weird not moisturising so I want to try only moisturising in the morning and not at night just to feel a little bit normal, won’t do that until after the week is over though.
Day 5 - my skin looks the clearest it’s been in a while. I still have a couple of spots but probably like 3 and the rest is just texture but my skin looks really good compared to when I first started.

    • @NailsByAmes
      @NailsByAmes 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Right guys so I tried this like last week but stopped but my skin was really good, but I started getting a lot of whiteheads on my cheek and on my chin. Idk whether it was kind of just purging from the lack of moisture or not but I was also still using benzoyl peroxide, I think it got better because it was literally just that on my face idk. My skin is worse before I started but I’ve been putting petroleum jelly on my face so it’s kind of clogged idk. Might go back to it after my birthday in like 2 days cus I’m not gunna see anyone so doesn’t really matter, will let you know again 😭

I sometimes think of it as s cut you get on your arm or something...you don’t go putting some chemical and ALSO start scrubbing it all crazy or even just a little. All you do is ignore it and do nothing about it an it just goes away on its own. Just let it heal to go away....not put stuff on it to go away.

I am on my 5th day with only using a cold cloth to wipe my face one time and I haven’t had any cystic breakouts I usually breakout every other day with a new pimple somewhere on my face.
Face is very tight and dry, but is looking totally different already.
I’m never buying a facial cleanser again! Ive spent hundreds on tons of serums, cleansers, toners, etc I’m sooo happy this is working 🥰🥰🥰

my acne eventually got so bad and I was just like "f**k it, my face is already messed up, I have nothing else to lose." so I tried not washing my face because before I started washing my face it was perfectly clear (with some blackheads though), but after I started washing my face I began getting acne and acne scars. So, yes, please try this, my face has never been closer to being clear in years. Im about a month in and already have great results so definately try ditching the products. Also, I do wash my face with water .

When I was a teen, I had bad acne for a year due to puberty. I was desperate to make it better so in the beginning I tried prescribed medicine for acne and it made it WORSE. Much worse. I stopped the medicine and began washing my face with water only in the shower and massaging my skin, rubbing dry patches and acne softly to dislodge dirt and after a year it was all gone. I've been doing this ever since and my main rule for acne and pimples still remains: don't touch your pimples/acne unless you are in the shower washing it or it WILL spread. If you leave it alone and don't touch it and wash properly it will go away. That is for hormonal acne/pimples. If it's genetic it's a whole other story and just washing with water might not even help.

Hi!! So I’m a teenager and I only have a few pimples but they really lower my self esteem because I just cant help but pick them! It leaves scars and I use minimal (just recently) products on it but I think I’ll try this out! My goal is to get clear skin before summer , I will be eating healthier and only washing my face gently with water! I’ll find this video in about four months and update you on my journey!!!!!❤️

My breakout started this mid March, it was so bad that I decided to consult my doctor (not a dermatologist or esthetician) and he recommended me this regimen. At first I doubted it is going to work and will just worsen the situation. But after watching this video and seeing how pretty you are now, I'm going to give it a try. This is my first week though. I really hope this would help. Wish me luck.

I never did skincare till I was 15, i’m now 16 and a couple months ago in the summer I broke out horribly. Coming across this video even though it was posted a while ago, i’m going to finally try this. I’ve kept depending on products and nothing has really worked. Little breakouts to then more breakouts getting bigger and it been so painful. I think the constant change in products, also hormones coming along with it but products have clogged my pores. I don’t break out at all around my neck, back, arms, chest just my face and it’s not super bad but it’s more than what I normally have. If it’s just my face it must be the products, so i’m going to finally let my face recover and regulate itself and let it do what it needs to do. Fingers crossed my skin can get back to the way it was. 😅

@@us7v223 I did around 3 weeks and a few days so just about 1 month, I figured by 2 weeks my skin would settle a little but just felt so oily and being out a lot and coming back and not washing my face felt awful. The air, the hard water in the shower, coming to winter my face was feeling more dry, it just wasn’t working because moisturiser on its own, buildup will just clog pores. Don’t stop if it’s working for you, but if you don’t see the results you want by 2 months, it may not be your thing. People say skincare is rubbish but for me and many, it is not rubbish at all, it can be important. Sunscreen to protect our faces from UV light, it’s very damaging. A gentle cleanser to wash dirt, oil and skin buildup. Our body’s shed once a month, so all that buildup can be prevented. If you’re acne prone, a spot treatment is key, it won’t go away effectively if you don’t do anything, not really it can depend. Moisturiser, our face has a skin barrier that’s very delicate, it can easily loose moisture from the drying air. All these things are important, our skins the biggest organ and needs to be taken care of. That’s just my personal opinion. :)

i used to depend so much on kbeauty n salicylic acid products and i think thats how i messed up my moisture barrier. My skin started to break out really bad but I got so tired to trying new products that I just stuck to washing with water. I broke out a lot around my jaw at first but i realised my forehead acne (which i struggled with) cleared up so fast.
