    The piece that is missing from Reefbot is the ability to *control*. Measure Mg, then control Dosers and react (adjust dosing up/down). If they developed an API that controllers could consume then thats true automation. MEASURE/ADJUST/RE-MEASURE and so on. It's a great first step though.

    Question, did you have any issues calibrating the ro fluid. I was helping set one up this evening and after 1st calibration it read around 14ml, bot only allows you to enter value of 1-9...🤔, ran a second calibration and it came out at 8ml, perfect!, we had to run out and help move a tank, came back and noticed the syringe was not fully seated in the holder, fixed that, went to recalibrate the ro line and kept getting 12ml app only allows a value between 1 and 9. Owner is now going to contact customer tech support. Just curious if you could shed any insight. Thanks in advance👍

    • @ReefDudes
      @ReefDudes 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i have a hanna phosphate checker so i can compare that one. I could compare to the redsea nitrate kits once its going but i suspect it to be pretty darn close. ICP would be a bit pricey to do so ill likely just do the kits i have in a future update :) The Reefbot will be much more accurate than me as its percise water volumes/drops/color interpretation.. basically takes out human error and preforms the tests identically each time.

    While nice, something that does concern me is how many tests you get. Just taking the Red Sea test kit as an example, it says it uses 1.05mL per test, which is fine the instructions say to discard the liquid (I don't though... whoops :D) but 1.05mL is more than what is necessary, but fine I get it a little extra, however 20mL container of the reefbot divided by 1.05 is about 19 test, yet it states on their website you get 11 tests before refilling. Is this simply because of the fluid level in the vial needs to be a certain height? Either way kind of raw deal to only get 58% of your test kits out of each vial before refilling.
    That said, I really hope this thing works and sticks around in the market, we need more choices for products like this, we don't need one particular orange and grey device to dominate the market. That said, I hope version 2.0 is even better.

    • @ReefDudes
      @ReefDudes 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are working on larger containers which is good. How much liquid is likely the average so may vary based on actual levels. If your testing daily then yep i could see that being a pain refiling after 11 days.. if weekly i could deal with once every 3 months :) The new upcoming larger vials should solve that issue or at least reduce it for the daily testers.

    • @ReefDudes
      @ReefDudes 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Around there, depends on the test and how much reagent it uses.. but it does very tiny steps when adding it to keep it super accurate. I schedule my future ones for 5/6am so i have the results when i wake up Friday mornings :)

For me what I’m testing I only care to know once a week so reagent refills are much cheaper long term.
