I was born in 2001 so I did not grow up with Christina's music being popular or on the radio. I discovered her when a girl at my school sang "hurt" at a talent show. (I was in 5th grade). I fell in love with the song, but had never heard the original version or had even heard of Christina before. I couldn't stop gushing about the song, so my mum said "wait until you hear the original. Christina Aguilera sings it and she has an incredible voice." That was the day I fell in love with xtina's voice. My mum already had Stripped, so I listened to it and I simply loved every moment of it. I remember being a kid and replaying Walk Away and I'm Ok over and over and over again! Anyway, I'm sorry that was so long haha but your comment resonated with me because I feel the exact same way! She has so many amazing live performances but one of my personal favourites is when she sang "I'm ok" live for VH1 story tellers. Anyway, stay safe and healthy too!
I was expecting her to sing the film version by Kristle Murden but was so shook by this one!! Perhaps i am just ovulating but i pretty much cried during this whole thing haha, her vocal power and ability to just bring us this breathtaking rendition sitting on her sofa is pure testament to her ability and talent. So many people criticize her but really...can they deliver anything near as good as this? sitting down on a seat even? she make sit look like she is just having a friendly singalong via Zoom or something. She is just next level incredible, it is bizarre how many people under estimate her or how underrated she is at times, i guess she is one of the very few who aren't so bothered about the fame, getting in magazines or desperately seeking wealth, she does this for the genuine sincerity and profound love for music.
