    I lived in the Kingdom for three years. As a female expat, I lived well and made the most of life there. To those who say it is boring and depressing, anyplace can be that way if you do not have a good reason to be there, a sense of purpose, and a good sense of yourself. It's possible to make and save a lot of money in Saudi Arabia and achieve significant personal goals as I did. Advice to any one considering going to KSA for work: Involve and engage yourself in a personal project of your own outside of work that does not depend on spending money, or using the internet. Develop good friendships, stay in touch with family and friends at home, and do some travel to places like Dubai, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, and Jordan for relief and fun. Explore cities like Jeddah which is quite different from Riyadh. Life in the Kingdom can be good if you keep an open mind. Since I have returned to the USA I actually miss a lot of things about life in Saudi Arabia.

    omg ... this looks like a city of robots rather than human beings. this is what becomes of a nation that lives on oil rather than learning to work! this nation is doomed for destruction. it has gone astray. it has forgotten the very fundamentals of being a human being.

    • @tasinal-hassan8268
      @tasinal-hassan8268 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      True that!That's why Iran is the best muslim country according to me.They are westernized,but at the same are technologically advanced on their own.

    • @oqualcycle
      @oqualcycle 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What do you mean that the cities in Iran are "westernized"?! Are you trying to say that the cities that are not westernized are in any way "backward-looking"? You seem to be brainwashed by the western media. Look in the mirror if you have one.
      When I mentioned that Riyadh appeared to be a city of robots, I was referring to the fact that the local people do not seem to be "practical" and "work-driven" in that they seem to be more obsessed with how they dress, how they look, what they drive, et cetera. What has this got to do with being "westernized" or not? One does not have to be "westernized" to be practical, hard-working, ambitious, innovative, just, and, above all, self-sufficient.
      Do you know what "self-sufficiency" means? That is what life is about--not being "westernized" or "robotized"! Mahatama Gandhi was an example of self-sufficiency--ie debt-free, living within your own means, modest, and so forth. Name cities that rank high in these basic qualities of humanity. Definitely not the "Westernized" cities!!

    • @tasinal-hassan8268
      @tasinal-hassan8268 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Civilisation or civilised countries are referred to “western” since the earliest of ideas date back to the time of the Greeks. What I'm saying is that unlike Saudi Arabia,Iran is the only developed Muslim country with self-development and skilled workforce in technology, all the while being “Islamic”.

    • @oqualcycle
      @oqualcycle 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You said that "Iran is the only developed Muslim country with self-development and skilled workforce in technology".
      First, why bring religion into it? Second, I do not doubt that Iran is a technologically-advanced nation--but to say that it is the ONLY Islamic state that is worthy of such an accolade suggests a big gap in your knowledge. After all, unlike Pakistan, Iran is yet to fully develop its nuclear technology. Pakistan has not only mastered the art of nuclear science but is also involved in helping other countries to follow suit, including the likes of North Korea, Saudi Arabia, and even Iran itself.
      As much as I love Iran, I would not quote Iran as a role model (or poster child!) for the Islamic world. There is none.

    • @tasinal-hassan8268
      @tasinal-hassan8268 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Why bring religion into this? Because the country isn't secular, that's why. Here are reasons why I said they are technologically advanced then countries like Pakistan or KSA-

    Crime rate is very low in Saudi Arabia . Women are restricted , this is true , but they are also protected . As for those who speak out against hijab , showing off your body creates insecurity , competition among women , giving men a field day . It is ridiculous that men will treat women with respect , when women objectify themselves . Feminism works for the top dog women , not for all women

      Oh, yeah, sure... aha... because in Saudi Arabia women can drive? NO. Can vote? NO. They can go out alone? NO. They can be elected in politics? NO. In America and Europe, women have the exact same rights as men. This is called freedom. Women and men must have the exact same rights! In Saudi Arabia there isn't freedom!
