    6:00 - I was a tour guide at a Victorian mansion and we would talk a lot about “squab” a lot. It was a delicacy the family who lived in the mansion often had … but it’s actually just baby pigeon. 😬

    Nobody ever buys my pitch but; I maintain that Michael Scott was based on Conan. They both consider their employees family, they never fire anyone, they both love classic comedy, they both endeavor to say the worst possible thing for comedic effect, ETC. Also, Greg and Conan have been great friends for most of their lives and Greg has based characters in his works off of real life people before.

    • @Govindaclass
      @Govindaclass 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      Nah! There are way too many differences. Conan is smart and intelligent. Michael was pretty dumb for most of the series. While Michael did seem to consider his employees as family, it was more so because he was insecure and didn't have any friends. He would never take the fall for anyone. Michael is hilarious as a sitcom character like all inappropriate or obnoxious characters are but wouldnt be funny in real life. While Conan is genuinely funny and nice. I bet Greg knew someone else who better fit the description of Michael Scott.

    • @HaHaThatIsFunny
      @HaHaThatIsFunny 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      Probably because Michael Scott is based on David Brent, Ricky Gervais' character on the original UK version of The Office

    • @tastyneck
      @tastyneck 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      "they both endeavor to say the worst possible thing for comedic effect"
      The show and its writers had Michael say the worst possible things for comedic effect but the character himself didn't. One of the character's defining qualities is that he lacked the self-awareness to know that what he's saying is terrible. He's constantly saying offensive things without realizing it nor why what he's saying is offensive in the first place, which is pretty much the opposite of "for comedic effect".
      The other qualities fit better but could also be argued are too general and just fit any "good person."

    • @GameTesterBootCamp
      @GameTesterBootCamp 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tastyneck Correct, but you can't write a character that intentionally says these things, or it's unbelievable and people will hate him. Parody only works if the comedian plays it 100% straight.

    None of the legacy media networks heeded the internet (Netflix and TH-cam and streaming, oh my) so it bit them in the ass. It's their own fault, imo. Chelsea is a special blend of lowkey and comfortably unhinged. What a joy to behold. Fits in well with the Coco crew. 💗✨

      @@salsal435 It feels that way. I have been watching the Rust trial and it looks like production is going to get away without punishment. They are 50% guilty for creating the environment this happened in IMHO.
      I have seen a crew member being wheeled out to ambulance and the production manager turns to me and ask if we are okay to continue shooting before they are even loaded on the ambulance. They don't care.

      Yet, movies are more expensive like $300 million to please the masses. Where’s that money going? Writers are the actual creators of the idea and should definitely be paid as much as actors. They have the money for safer conditions.

    I would like to apply as the copy editor for your TH-cam titles! This is getting out of hand. Whoever is in charge of writing the titles - and it better be someone who went to college during lockdown because the writing skills are not ok - is not qualified to be writing for the public. Communication needs to be clear. Things need to be translatable! People should not have to spend extra time figuring out what this person is trying to say. Every day there's a mistake in the title.

    Conan was ridiculous goofy nerdy late night show and it was mostly technical physical humor where he tries to satisfy childhood neediness wirh young women and he gets rejected but makes out with famous stars. He made jokes about his height and hair color and Irish Catholic descent from Boston. And the brothers. He is noted for after the year 2000, the band, and traveling unknown exotic parts drinking and misbehaving. His sidekicks are Andy and Schlansky. Went to Harvard and is Aries. After many makeovers he's now into a gathering type, enjoing retirement like episodes but don't know what happened to his Arnold voice, he is just loud and old, ha ha.
