Hello Tulika . That was wonderfully explained . So laya is speed and beats are different right, then what about the 'bol' ? Are they suppose to fit in the laya as per their own pattern ? For eg . Ta, iti, naka, dhini- so these 4 fit in first speed, then madhyam and so on .. Also they can be 5 or 6 ??

I am wondering if it's possible to give us an example on one item, like Patadip, to let us know how to count and define each vibhag clearly.....(sorry, Indian Sangita is quite difficult to understand for foreigners......) It's easy to get confused and lost the beats .....:P:P
