Listening now about the Trinity. One thing I've found fascinating while studying neuroscience is how much of the brain is totally independent of the rest, yet still comes together to create a single conscious mind. The left and right hemispheres are almost wholly independently functioning of each other, the cerebellum as well. It seems so fascinating to me how we have such trouble wrapping our minds around the Trinity, yet our own minds are the same.

The idea I have heard about "Hell" is that (and I mentioned this on Video 1) that my church talks about the dead being "asleep" and get brought back at the Second Coming. The part I didn't detail is the idea of the thousand-year rule is one where the Righteous live in Heaven, then the City of God comes back to Earth, the Unrighteous get brought back and have a chance to have their final rebellion, then will be birnt up and - and this is the line is somewhere in the Bible - the smoke will rise forever and ever. The idea that line is explained is the burning will not go on forever - the sinners will not burn in eternal torment - but the smoke that comes from it will fly off into the universe forever.

Interesting point of view. I never taught of hell as a transitional state in Christianity, tough it’s like that in Judaism and only the worst of the worst stay there for too long. I had no idea that Gehenna was the word mentioned in the Christian bible, taught it was always Hadas or Thartarus because it was originally written in Greek and not Hebrew. In my opinion the reason that hell was described as a lake of fire was because that was the only thing that people at the time would understand. Hell likely isn't a lake of fire but there's a good chance it's far worse
The reason God was so vengeful in the OT was because of how Israel acted, what they wanted and what they asked God for. Not a single person got a scratch on them until they got to Sinai. Before then they had been complaining endlessly because Moses had to keep correcting them as they would frequently defy God. Finally Israel grew tired of being told how to please God by Moses and asked Moses to have God tell them what they were supposed to do. This is when Moses ascended Sinai and God gave the law. After Israel asked for and received the law the very first thing they did, when Moses came down from Sinai, was break the very 1st commandment. After Sinai God started exacting justice upon them because they no longer could make the excuse of ignorance. The most ironic thing is that they asked for it.
I believe that we create our own hell after we die by withholding ourselves from God. Eventually we release the things that hold us back from God. An evil serial killer might have to relive his actions and the suffering he caused. Only fully accepting his actions and faults will allow him to grow closer to God and forgiveness. Just my opinion. 😊
For what it counts, I believe in much the same way. What if at the time of death, if all of those who deny Jesus Christ as the Messiah, as the Savior that takes away the sins of all mankind, what if they actually have to relive each and every single sin that they've committed in their life? Each curse word that they've ever uttered, each lie, whether it be a little white lie, or it be a huge web of dark lies, it could take them an eternity to burn those blemishes, those impurities off of their souls
Although I love science I do think some things are supposed to remain unexplainable and that's where faith comes in. If we lived in a world where God was proven then heaven would no longer require an element of faith.
44:25 When I hear this I also think of people like Harold Camping, who predicted specifically the dates of the second coming (you know, something Christ explicitly said nobody could do). You guys are awesome! Love your podcasts, I'm converting to orthodox Judaism and I highly suggest having guest on sometime to go over the ancient ideas of Judaism on some of these topics. In Judaism, the sacrifices were not to cover sins in the same way Christianity sees it. There are three ways for the redemption of sin in Judaism. There is tshuva or literally repentance which is the strongest. This requires no sacrifice or anything other than to ask God for forgiveness and move away from your sin. An example of this is in the Book of Jonah, the people of Nineveh were forgiven and God did not destroy them, where was their sacrifice? They only repented. Tshuva. Then throughout the Tanakh we see that the giving of charity covers many sins. Feeding the hungry and helping the widows and fatherless children. Then we of course see the sacrifices but these were reserved for unintentional sins. Sins that you were not aware of committing. :) I highly recommend looking into the teachings of Rabbi Tovia Singer on the topics of sacrifices and other Jewish teachings.
Great episode! However I would recommend Checking sources before saying them out if y’all are uncertain. 1. Devil was never mentioned in deutoronomy during Moses burial. 2. Moses and Elijah were at the transfiguration not garden with Jesus
I went through my Bible and only in Luke. Is there a mention of an angel one? Angel, comforting Jesus while he was in the garden praying there was the time on the mount during the transfiguration of Jesus, when he's shown like bright light that Moses and Isaiah were present with Peter and the sons of Zebedee
Yes, he is mixing together 2 entirely different events in the Gospels. Moses and Elijah appeared and spoke with Jesus on the mountain at the Transfiguration, with Peter, James, and John looking on (Matthew 17:2, Mark 9:2-3, Luke 9:28-36). This occurred long before the Garden of Gethsemene event on the night before his death, when Jesus prayed alone while the disciples slept nearby. Luke mentions that an angel appeared to strengthen him (Luke 22:43).
The wall of Jericho. You said you don't get the science. Just March blowing your horns. You leftout that they wer carrying the Ark of the Covenant. I believe that may have a little more to play in on the science end of things.
The ark sounds like some kind of nuclear/radioactive weapon. That aside, sounds could be used to cause physical damage, like shattering a glass with your voice. Need to find the right resonant frequency
Maybe I'm mishearing, but is Wendigoon claiming Oneness theology or possibly even Arianism as true at 28:20? Saying Jesus wasn't co-existent with God from the beginning? Wasn't sure if I was misunderstanding or if it's something else. Really enjoyed the rest of the discussion though!
I apologize ahead of time for my ignorance but what exactly is the doctrine of Arianism and how is the doctrine of Oneness related to or perceived as being alike Arianism? I'm someone who seeks to know the heart of God, to proclaim the Truth found therein, and to carry out His will for the new season that we're now finding ourselves living in. I've experienced much suffering and demonic oppression in my life but being newly resurrected from the grave and being born again of spirit I've risen up from death in Jesus Christ! AND BEHOLD, I'M NOW ALIVE FOREVERMORE!!!
I can't help but feel that parts of this view of hell are optimistic. A mix of being taught different and it being to easy I guess, hesitant to think that a little post death suffering will polsih em up and send them on there way. Tho I would prefer that to be the case.
I would love to see some of the "quality Shorts" floated toward the end - what a genius idea! 'Sassy Bible Bites' 😄. There could be weekly 'Guest Stars' like Moses & Paul; a mid-season two-parter with a "Special Guest Appearance" by the Holy Spirit or maybe even Jesus? That would be so awesome! (I'm totally not above begging if it helps.) The Church is portrayed as having no sense of humour far too often and that's just not true. Really, God has the ultimate sense of humour...how else do you explain how bees fly and things like giraffes and those necks 🤓
im gettting back intot he whole christianity thing but I'm christopagan and not very fond of typical church vibes (very many bad experiences at various churches) but these I love and I think i'll use these as some of my more churchy things and find other such video types.
Hell is both talked about as either fire or void apart from God. I kinda think maybe it’s a little bit of both. Maybe fire is the only way to describe the pain of being completely separated from God. Or maybe the Devil is in the lake of fire and people get sent to the void. I dont think there’s any different levels of punishment. If you don’t follow Jesus you’re apart from God and that’s it. I also think you only get the chance to follow Jesus in life. I don’t think there’s a second chance after you die.
One interesting note is that in most polytheistic religions I have read about (celtic, hellenistic, heathen) they all put less weight on the afterlife and have multiple aspects to afterlife and the soul. Nothing is as clear cut as "the good place" and "the bad place". As christianty has evolved from polytheistic religions that these also evolved from it's highly likely at the time of writing this is what they believed.
I think a big question we should think about is if we knew we could get out of hell, what would be the consequences of that? I think if people knew that then we would justify ourselves all the more to stray from God. To essentially put God on the backburner until your in hell and deal with your problems then. I would argue that hell is eternal, because hell being a spritual car wash sounds lame.
I mean time is space is change. How can you change yourself to separate into multiple entities if you yourself exist outside of time? Especially if you then send one of those split entities off into a place that is affected by time.
So, I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In our branch of Christianity, Hell is not an actual physical place but an experience one can go through here in their mortal life. The further one lives their life from God or turns from God, the more miserable their life experiences are/ the more miserable they feel because they are lacking Heavenly Father's light. On the afterlife end of things, before the second coming, we believe souls are separated into two separate spiritual plains. If one is righteous and accepts Christ as their savior, then they will spend their waiting period in a spirit paradise. If one is unrighteous or doesn't accept Christ, then they are placed in spirit prison where one's soul experiences torment similar to how one feels hell in the mortal plain. Those in spirit prison still have a chance to accept Christ and be ministered from those in spirit paradise, similar to how Jesus ministered to those before after his sacrifice. As mentioned previously, those in spirit prison can still choose not to accept Christ. During judgment, then they will most likely be sent to the outer darkness where I'm assuming they will suffer spiritual death and simply cease to exist. On the trinity side of things, we personally believe in the God Head. We do not view Christ, the Father, and the Spirit as one person, but as being ONE in the same goal; which is to bring us back to our Heavenly Father
1:05:15 super late, so south park got it right? Everyone goes/went to hell basically, but only some are being tortured. Obviously south park is dramatized. My question is, are the Mormons right?
John 3:16 a verse anyone who has gone to awana has totally memorized as it was like 3 time every year. XD I even learned it in spanish for a silver or gold in t&t. XD
If you guys happen to see this I'd like to see what you think of this. With God going through all this to save humanity through Jesus. He is the creator. Why create a situation you have to save? That's what I don't get. Why create/allow evil? Unless it's to simply let each of us get what God has the power to do anything we want. To have free will with finite power. I mean even with our own finite understanding and influence on our world and people around us. Look at what one Hitler did. Just never understood why God created all this when we could just all be blissfully ignorant and happy in heaven. What is the point? Was it simply to gift us with free will? What do you guys think?
Without free will our love means nothing, neither our love of god or our love for our fellow man. If you choose to let god into your heart it means a lot because on this earth the pull of temptation is great and you could have very easily chose to reject him. If you didn’t have the ability to reject god then your acceptance would mean nothing. You would effectively have no soul and be more like an animal than something that is created in gods image like is said in genesis. That’s one explanation anyway but I don’t think it’s possible for us to know the full truth in our current state.
I've had the same question in the past, but the answer I've come up with is that God knows all choices anyone can ever make and the endless consequences that come with them. It also helps that I believe in the multiverse so it makes more sense to me that way
It’s more or less like watching a movie/book you have already seen but have no memory of it where you know what will happen in the end but the choices are very of their own volition
If you were to travel back in time and watch Washington cross the Delaware, would he still not be doing it of his own free will? You know the outcome, but it doesn't make it predetermined for them. Same concept here IMO
All the answers below are very good answers. One thing I will point out, we know that God does interact with humanity. If we did not believe this, we would be Diests and have to throw out the Bible. Considering this, it can be said that technically man’s free will is limited to whatever God allows. Meaning humans do not have total, complete free will. It seems the main point of free will is for humans to decide of their own free will whether to perform evil or not, which makes sense considering eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil is exactly how man gained free will in the first place
53:51 not sure if this is intentional or not, but the way you phrase that makes it seem as if the romans/greeks attested to caananites performing the act of child sacrifice. What youre meaning to say (I believe) is that the romans and greeks attested to the term moloch being a term which describes the act of child sacrifice, as they accused the carthagians of engaging in the practice. The way you worded it makes it seem as if you are saying that the greeks and romans provide third party evidence to corroborate the jewish claim that the caananites sacrificed to moloch, and I dont believe they did provide said corroborating evidence (for many reasons) If someone were skeptical that the biblical account of the caananites was charitable or accurate, they could easily misinterpret what you said there as evidence to believe the biblical description of the caananites when it is not necessarily so.
Necroing this because man I really think this is dangerous. I get that there have been translation issues but, and maybe I missed it, I'm not seeing or hearing where we get any chance to repent after death. Wouldn't being able to repent after dying take away our agency, our ability to believe or not believe in God? In the most extreme example, well frankly, it really seems to make Jesus's sacrifice meaningless if we can just suffer through it in some kind of purgatory.
I agree. If God’s judgement is just, then there needs to be punishment for sin. we are given an opportunity to repent, we are warned of the danger of continuing to sin and turn away from God. But if you could just repent in the after life, then wouldn't that mean you could just keep sinning right up until when you die? Because people who go to hell knowing about Jesus, choose to do it. They go willingly. What would be the point of Christ’s sacrifice to pay for our sins, if we could just keep doing our sins gladly with essentially no consequence if we can be saved after we die, too.
God, the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit were all present at creation. In Genesis 1:2 the Holy Spirit is referenced (The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.) Literally the Spirit of God. In Genesis 1:26 God was speaking to Jesus (Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”) Who else would he be talking to that had the image of man?
40:30 JOHN IS NOT OUR APOSTLE. WE ARE NOT GIVEN A NEW HOLY CITY AS GENTILES. REVELATION IS NOT GENTILE DOCTRINE. THE BOOK OF LIFE IS NO LONGER OPERATIONAL
No, no , no!! At 28:00 this is ALL WRONG! You need to read your Athanasian Creed. You have TOTALLY mis-stated the Trinity and your conception is technically a well-recognized heresy.

I went through my Bible and only in Luke. Is there a mention of an angel one? Angel, comforting Jesus while he was in the garden praying
there was the time on the mount during the transfiguration of Jesus, when he's shown like bright light that Moses and Isaiah were present with Peter and the sons of Zebedee
At first I'm wondering why wendigoon is ignoring you lol
I love the bible stuffs, y'all. I would love more jesus wendigoon specifically
I'm loving the content! please keep it up! :)
32:33 Aidan without context
I can't help but feel that parts of this view of hell are optimistic. A mix of being taught different and it being to easy I guess, hesitant to think that a little post death suffering will polsih em up and send them on there way. Tho I would prefer that to be the case.
Great episode, especially the lesson on Elijah
This was great
Thank you!
God does have a keen sense of humor, ie: my family…….
@@NanaBrenI live on The Funny Farm, myself 😄
Lol, I've taught the egg lesson.
The reason why God condems people to hell despite being loving, is because he's also a JUST God.
the beginning of this podcast is wendigoon at 1% audio
27:00 Stop predicting the future!
Jesus Christ is the truth reach out, nothing but respect.
Dr Michael Heiser made a strong case for the”us/our” being Gods divine assembly/council..possibly the elders of Revelation. 30:45
im gettting back intot he whole christianity thing but I'm christopagan and not very fond of typical church vibes (very many bad experiences at various churches) but these I love and I think i'll use these as some of my more churchy things and find other such video types.
An Orthodox priest described the fires of Hell being God's love as felt by people who reject it.
God bless your dad Isaiah
The Trinity are co-eternal. There was no “just God” and then the other Two came along. All three existed for all eternity.
Catholic archangels are Rafael Gabriel and Michael
"God is a God of mercy" -killed all the innocent firstborns of Egypt.- 🤣
Have yall heard the Lord of Spirits podcast? Its Two Orthodox preists talking about giants and such
Had not but I’ll look into it!
The cool thing is that the new heaven and mew earth will become one and God will live in the New Jerusalem which is cool
Couldn’t do the strange Bible podcast cause of Tim Mackie huh? Lol
1:05:15 super late, so south park got it right? Everyone goes/went to hell basically, but only some are being tortured. Obviously south park is dramatized. My question is, are the Mormons right?
New episode when?
Wendigoon is swamped, I’m hoping for next week though!
John 3:16 a verse anyone who has gone to awana has totally memorized as it was like 3 time every year. XD

Is this podcast still going?
Yep! New episode soon, Book of Job! We’ll announce ahead of time
Had no idea about this channel until last night and the way you name dropped wendi took me by such surprise. Lol
I grew up Primitive Methodist 😬
If you guys happen to see this I'd like to see what you think of this. With God going through all this to save humanity through Jesus. He is the creator. Why create a situation you have to save? That's what I don't get. Why create/allow evil? Unless it's to simply let each of us get what God has the power to do anything we want. To have free will with finite power. I mean even with our own finite understanding and influence on our world and people around us. Look at what one Hitler did. Just never understood why God created all this when we could just all be blissfully ignorant and happy in heaven. What is the point? Was it simply to gift us with free will? What do you guys think?
Covered that to an extent in episode three!
If God is omnipotent and knows everything that everyone is destined to do in their lives. How can it then be said that God has given man “free will”?
I've had the same question in the past, but the answer I've come up with is that God knows all choices anyone can ever make and the endless consequences that come with them. It also helps that I believe in the multiverse so it makes more sense to me that way
You can know about something and allow it to play out uninterupted.
But how do I become a free mason?.
The animals were sacrificed and burned because that is the punishment that we deserve for sin being put on the animal.
The way you worded it makes it seem as if you are saying that the greeks and romans provide third party evidence to corroborate the jewish claim that the caananites sacrificed to moloch, and I dont believe they did provide said corroborating evidence (for many reasons)
If someone were skeptical that the biblical account of the caananites was charitable or accurate, they could easily misinterpret what you said there as evidence to believe the biblical description of the caananites when it is not necessarily so.
Lol, “you can repent at judgement day.” This is heresy.
Isaiah 64:6
I think people that set actual Dates for Jesus coming will be judged. No one knows the day or hour except the Father
1:10:32 Based
Necroing this because man I really think this is dangerous.

The laughing at everything I can’t stand so your not serious is how I see it
How can you be a 4th degree mason and christian at the same time? Either you're humble to God or succumb to Lucifer's luring. You can't be both.
I think WWE should house the fight between Satan and Michael...might as well let everyone watch if we're all gonna fuckin die by the end...
