Agree but would be too much weapon competition. Hunter, dk, paladin, rogue, shamen, monk way to much competition. I would be fine if it was just 1 single 1h weapon with a glyph the turns the pistol bow into kunai or throwing axe
As a SV main, I like the changes. In a selfish way I am a little disappointed that there was no focus or mention of Mongoose Fury. All the ways to gain CDR on bombs fortifies the fact they want you to use bombs. Mongoose Fury is based on the idea of fitting in as many Mongoose Bites as you can in a window. Having bombs just waiting on max stacks works against this idea of Mongoose Fury. In MoP Remix there is a Meta slot gem that lets you spam abilities with no resource cost for 5 seconds. You can get Mongoose Fury windows where you get 10-12 Mongoose Bites with every bite doing more and more damage. Season 3 & 4 Shadowlands changed SV forever. Bombs were going to be an emphasis. It is still all fun and looks versatile. I just wished they did something for Mongoose Fury. It was the mechanic that initially made me an SV main.
i really dont understand how blizzard things this is rework of a class? i see the same abilities and the same buttons. I dont care about new passives or rotations I want new class spells , for me this is ridiculous i cant say i am exited for this
I am super happy survival’s tree changed. It looks way more fun than ever, and I don’t have to rely on a green bomb for serpent stings, and no more poison injectors which make me happy enough to utilize other spells
@@KiaStout harpoon is probably the most flavorful spell in the spec, I’m also happy I can make a build less bomb oriented, but I also love that explosive shot is part of the bomb side of the spec, I just don’t like seeing the serpent sting animation while using mongoose bite/raptor strike
It seems that Shrapnel Bomb is just straight up the default Wildfire Bomb now, which is a huge W in my book. It's nice we get to keep the bleed effect, especially with the new focus on DoTs giving damage buffs and of course the old AS buff we already had for each bleeding enemy.
Survival hunter aoe has the potential to be more exciting than it ever was... using mongoose bite cleave to set up serpent sting on all targets, throw bombs and spend explosive shot procs. Really cool However if it's tuned wrong it will make cleave mongoose not worth taking, meaning all we do for aoe is spam bombs and explosive shots. That would suck ass man. I hope devs realize the fun these new talents bring
This is huge. I just leveled my first hunter since shadowlands and I really felt like they just stretched the shadowlands tree on 61 talents points. It was ridiculous and not satisfying at all. This is a proper tree with fun stuff to mix and match.
Actually like how these changes are so far. Only thing I don't fully care for from the tree is that Salve talent, seems very pointless to be a Final talent, that should be like row 3 to mid if anything. And kinda forcing us to pick up roar of sacrifice in the tree is kinda lame. But overall I like the changes
How will be Tip of the Spear incorporated into the Survival rotation now? Will you basically have to press KC before each ability to get the 15% dmg buff? If so, that makes the rotation very KC based and I don't think that is what people expected from a Survival rework if you ask me...
From the Blue Post it says tip of the spear stacks, but not the damage bonus. So you have to spend it after initial 1 - 3 KC, the after every KC, or build all then spend all, etc. Which is kind of similar to how you would play if you didn't want to ignore you KC resets. Kind of sounds like it doesn't synergize perfectly with mongoose bite, but at least you can just not spec into mongoose bite if you want, idk
BTW the intimidation talent is actually supposed to summon your pet if you don't have one out and then cast intimidation. Blizzard has stated they aren't going to allow Intimidation to be cast without a pet.
Love that survival finally got some love, the spec has huge potential and flavor but I was staying away until Blizzard showed they had some creative ideas for its direction.
I have literally never played hunter in my life, but after the changes went live I hopped on to the beta and made a survival hunter, which has always been on my radar since they got reworked to melee in Legion but had never got around to. Strong? Weak? I could not tell you, but if you ask me the vibes were excellent and the absolute glee of mashing explosive shot after coordinated assault was up there with some of the best dopamine rushes I've gotten in WoW.
hm at SV seems like they kill mongosbite again, why the damage is like 30% lower than Raptorstrike at start and then give a Aoe mongose bite/raptorstrike, that makes Mongose bite useless
One change I would like to see is for countershot to be reduced to something like 12 seconds, 24 essentially renders it useless. Please give developers that feedback
I think the new survival Mastery is going to cause all kinds of issues on bosses like Terros or the spider boss where the default pet location is far from where the melee needs to stand
Pretty much exactly what i expected to happen is happening slowly but surely Warlock was way overtuned so it was obviously going to get nerfs. But its bliz so theyd hit it hard or do it in a way which removes flavor Then all the classes that got no attention would get real late in the game buffs, effectively reversing the hierarchy And there wont be enough time to rectify anything so the "real" balancing will happen after the expansion goes live
This might just been an oversight by blizzard n something that hopeful get change in the beta but if you pick wailing arrow in the beta atm you are screwed when it comes to our burst dmg cause it has 0 synergy with Trueshot that reduce cost n make us cast aimed shot n rapid fire 50% faster then we get a slow wailing arrow we have to cast in between if we want to cast more quick n cheap aimed shot in that window also i will never see a use for the talent after readiness that start off by giving a slow wailing arrow when we use Trueshot n generate more wind arrow to have a another slow wailing arrow to screw the burst window up even more also I'm not impressed by blizzard refusal of giving us a simple BL MM can use without pet if they still want that Lone wolf talent to be a thing n even give us more talent in general hunter tree to make us feel even more bad when we have to use our pet to cast BL. Yes the reduced dmg from 10% to 5% on lone wolf might help with single target but will never get close to 5% more aoe dmg because pet as MM do no aoe dmg so it still does not fix the problem where we need to cast BL in dungeon but only fix a problem if there somehow no other BL caster in a raid. But all in all im happy for these hunter changes cause oh boi have we waited years for this
You are incorrect when talking about shrapnel bomb, if you create a new character you don't get shrapnel bomb. This is a bug with characters that were created before the rework
Not a fan of Trailblazer being moved down the tree, even though I probably won't be levelling a Hunter again any time soon. It was excellent for levelling. I do like that it only needs 1 point now though... if it stays that way.
Still feel like MM conflicts with itself at times. And would of liked to see options to give some synergy between the pet and hunter in MM so that it can actually be an option to play with rather than just dumping it for a flat damage increase.
Super confused. Hunters in the raids I join are always on top or near top. In PvP they do so much damage you’re almost always forced to line or use defensives straight away….
Hunters are currently an easy class to play, because they didn’t have a lot of interplay between abilities that were viable. They restructured the trees to make that much more possible to do.
Change that SV mastery ASAP. It will be more problematic than its worth. I think the mastery is an INSANE oversight, considering this is actually meant to be a rework...
seems like they took current survival, ripped out the wildfire bomb stuff and replaced it with the explosive shot proc fuckery of mop era sv. really cool. just wish theyd make it ranged again

Hoping for a "reverse pattern" this time on hunters. They usually begin expansions as trash. Then SUDDENDLY push everyone off the meters which causes much QQ QQ QQ (mainly from mages and locks) until Blizz gives in and makes them trash again for the rest of the expac.

I'd love to see, even if only cosmetic, DW for survival, melee weapons while BM or marks, among many other cosmetics.
So exited about the sv rework , I am all for the embracing of explosive shot.
One of the talents said something about increased damage with 2 handed weapons, so maybe that's hinting at its return.

So what does increasing your mastery as survival do for that bonus? More damage increase and more DR?
More damage increase. The damage reduction you get doesn't seem to scale with mastery, only your damage output does.

Survival is dope. Been playing it since legion, always love the feel..felt the defenses sucked too bad but now..amazing.
