    I am obsessed with my downwind board for winging, I use the same "climb up the hill analogy" to describe my local spot's chop-moguls. I have had no need to use my 7.5m wing with it yet as a 6m does it all, ir so it seems so far👍🏻.

    You can clearly see how fast the board moves through the water whilst you not on foil, I’m still on the fence about these style of boards for my use but can definitely see the early easy lift.

    "Accelerated right up the faces of the swells" exactly what I was hoping to hear.

    I’m 100kg and have a 7’5” 110L and my friend has the Naish 7’ 105L. The Naish has a friendlier bottom that is more stable than my board. It’s also feather light and cheaper than any other DW board. May not be the best choice for DW SUP but it’s great for light wind winging. No pumping required.

      I like the looks of the Naish. What type is your 7’5 x 110 ? I’m curious about the stability of various versions out there.

      I think I figured it out. Based on length, I’m guessing the 7’5 x 20 x 110 liter is the FFB versus the Naish 7’1 x 21.5 x 105 liter. I think the Naish is more stable based on more width only. My experience trying different rail chines, shows the FFB chine as more stable given everything else equal.

      @@foilsurfmachinesyes but you would think the extra 5L would help. The Naish 7'1" is actually 22.5" wide. So that is 2.5" wider than my Freedom Foil Board. World of difference, slightly painful vs. easy. And from a wingers perspective, having a slightly shorter, lighter, and cheaper board from a well recognized brand (for resale) is the way to go. In light wind, one ends up doing a fair bit of slogging. The wider platform is easier on the old man knees.

      @@martinomovies For winging, does the Naish get up on foil in as light of wind as your FFB? Most people are going with DW boards 19"-21".

    Super light wind! Coming back in towards shore with the swell, was it slightly harder to get going as opposed going against the swell/current?

    • @foilsurfmachines
      @foilsurfmachines  ปีที่แล้ว

      it was harder coming back in. Swell was pushing my angle too deep off the wind, hurting power.

    what size board for 109kg rider?

    • @foilsurfmachines
      @foilsurfmachines  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on age and planned use. Old guy like me for SUP use, weight plus 30 liters is about perfect. For just wing use, weight plus 15 liters is good. This board is my weight plus 30 liters.
