This is one of the most amazing things about hens. When I was a kid we lived in a property with sheds, outbuildings etc, where chicken would wander and sometimes brood. I remember one time when we saw a hen coming back to the coop with at least 15 chicks behind her. It was both very comical and impressive !

Oh goodness the same thing happened to my family a while back. The mama bird looked exactly like yours, but was completely white. I wish you good luck with the peepers ❤
I had a hen disappear and I thought she got killed but a few weeks later here she comes from a old barn with 14 diddles. She never gave signs of being broody. I've raised chickens for over 40 years and she always found ways to surprise me. She was a black sex link.
@@gulfcoastcluckers 😮🫣 I can imagine… I only have 6 of laying age that aren’t broody right now… the remaining girls have now joined the dark side 😂😂 we downsized from around 100 to 18 birds last fall.. today’s count was 44 😅😅
I believe all the chicks regard you as their mom in the video, so the question is where and what the h* the actual mom was doing when they hatched lol.
