So my Dad says, "wanna go see the old 97s?" Sure I say. So i go to check them out since I'm not familiar with them. And now after all the posts about seeing them live, I am genuinely excited about my evening. Good times
just saw them Saturday night and met Rhett before the show... great dude and a GREAT show. I've been to many concerts, and i'd put that one at or near the very top!
the line during the intro about starting the band with the notion they had no chance of commercial success is perfect. trying to be something musically, you'll probably end up being nothing. just write and let it happen.
They've been playing together since the early '90s and have been playing this song together sing the mid-late '90s. You could wake one of them out of a coma and get the other off of scientific experiment researching the effect of hallucinogens and they would be the tightest duo you'd see all year.
If you don't want commercial success why are you worried about turning people off by calling it loud folk? Surely you wouldn't give a Danny what people thought.

I hope this experience gave you a newfound respect and well-deserved appreciation for your dad.
What made me a fan of these guys is not just the awesome music, but how much fun they have when playing their music.
This is some great music. The bassist was killing it. What a cool style.
Music is therapy. Thank you
Love this! Murray's backing vocals are almost indispensible, and completely enchanting, as always!
This band has been with me since I was born

Wow. Did you hear how tight they were? That is really hard to be that tight with an acoustic player like Rhett. Awesome!

Mr. Miller was at my school

He was at my school as well, but that's because we were students together.

Who else is here from GOTG holiday special?
Stephen King is playing the hell out of that bass.
So...how was the show?
4 a long time i thought this number was furloughed
It was merely embargoed.
Where is ken and Phillip?
Playing air guitar and air drums in another air stream.
Loud folk in the same way Metal is Beach rock when you strip away all the distortion
Surf.
Ever wonder if "Celeste" is a real girl; a character in a story or a little bit of both?
Prefer this to the original.
gonna tell my kids this was florida georgia line
Loud folk band? sorry. STOMP a mud hole, that's cowpunk! omg Murray kills.
If you don't want commercial success why are you worried about turning people off by calling it loud folk? Surely you wouldn't give a Danny what people thought.
i hope he didn't mean to come off as pretentious as he sounded
still, great music!
Oh Fender you can do better than this band
Know this from Clay Pigeons! That movie was the shit!
