In the interest of balanced opinion, I run a 42k gallon pond on two of Burtons smallest drum filters (and large home made bio beds plus big Bakki shower). They have been faultless for me and pull out bucket loads of debris on a weekly basis, they clean every 10 mins so are worked very hard. They are Burtons cheapest drums and they have been great. I started with Filtreau drums and had nothing but problems with them. To me decent drums are worth their weight in gold, my pond is out of the ordinary but I don’t think I could run it without drums
After raising koi fry after a surprise spawning last summer I had a very difficult time letting them go, I just wanted to keep as many as possible and watch how they turned out and continue to learn from the experience. It was incredibly fun and equally exhausting. ( I just finished rehoming or selling the last of the tosai yesterday(I did keep 5). At last measure up I have several that hit 36-39 cm. You are my favorite professional to watch, listen to, and learn from. Thank you so much from Southern California!
Totally get the heat part as have been growning on with an inline heater for a separate vat, have one for the pond but costs a fortune to run. Air source heater over here is around 5 grand. So not something on the cards for a few year's. Have been buying saki forba few years now and agree on its befits. Would like to hear your thoughts on veg filters? Have a side of my pomd turned into one, with gravel, plants and water flowing through bfrom one end amd out the opposite end. Water pms have been spot on since i incorporated it. So be interesting to hear your views, good or bad👍
Very informative video. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Ricky, when do you do your regular koi talk live sessions. I have subscribed but for some reason don't receive notifications of the broadcasts?
I’d like to see where the best KOI go, I’d love to see the whole journey of the best koi in the country, I know some go to shows but we lose the best koi progress
IDEAS- you wanted some show ideas. It would be good if you could show mote hands on stuff. Ex: show the difference between a good body and a bad body koi.. Male vs female.. Good sashi & kewa vs bad.. Good skin vs bad.. Bone structure vs bad. Ect.. All with live koi..

Fish at my place you mean?
What are your thoughts on tamaura as a breeder?
Great Farm, for the price you get good pattern and skin. Sometimes lacking on the body side.
