Random things I remember : he want to make a video eventually, he's a Eula main, he think the exploration is god tier, he like the combat, he like the gacha, he hate farming artifact and the way progression is handled in general, and he really hate hate that the cutscene are unskipable. He stopped playing sometime during Inazuma, hasn't played in Sumeru yet (and fontain wasn't released last time I heard him talk about the game).

Furina : human born to be mentally tortured for 500 years by playing the role of a god to save her country from genocide while her other actual god self committed suicide for the same goal, retires from the scene cuz mental health, she's traumatized, then Paimon makes fun of her for being depressed? Navia crying and breaking dow : "my two closest companions just died dissolving and I can't even bury them next to my father's grave cuz they don't even have a corpse" Paimon : "oh and what are u gonna do ?" Before she was just a bit dumb, now she's smarter but so insensitive for some reason. At first I thought maybe it's bad writing and they don't mean as making her more insensitive on purpose but it's weird how genshin's writing went from writing mid generic stories with bad pacing to dramatic emotional masterpieces with insane plot lines and twists and turns, yet her writing specifically went bad ??
Inspired by this video I went back to my old Genshin account after quitting for a year. I mashed through some highly unskippable quest cutscenes, as Paimon's high-decibel Elmo impression drilled through my ears. Moving quickly to the Gacha screen, I won a single roll for a Xianyun who is a Bayonetta looking creature, in a lot less rolls than it should statistically take (did not pay for them of course, fyi). I remembered what leveling a unit and grinding up its skills and materials actually entails, and I instantly lost motivation once again at the thought of having to raise this new burden, before uninstalling, remembering why I quit in the first place. 10/10 great open world game
watching this now I'm realising how shocking it would be for a new player to wander off into the world at the beginning, go through dragonspine, through liyue, into sumeru city, down to port ormos, head west into the desert, go through more desert, go through more desert, go through more desert, and eventually see the beautiful scenery of fontaine. dare i say that would be akin to first seeing anor londo in dark souls 1
Having walked from Mondstadt to Fontaine as quickly as I could, the most impressive parts were the previews of the pyramid across Sumeru and the underwater Fontaine sections.
There has never been a character detracting more from a game (especially hurtful bc its such a good one) than Paimon. And no; its not "lol play with jap VA". She ruins every scene; every conversation is bloated and repetitive bc of her involvment; she robs the mc of any character; and adds nothing of value. Not a single time. I would've maybe cared about the story; but seeing as its basically "Paimon retreading everything 2738953 times and being a time waste in general" and the mc is reduced to "onee-chan/onii-san wher r u UwU" how could I give any fucks. Just let me play the game; explore; build characters, progress in equipment/stats, all the other stuff that is so well done. Its sad; bc EVERY scene is ruined by her. Fuck Paimon. Hopefully one day mihoyo has the balls to just give the option to SKIP EVERYTHING that isnt gameplay. Holy shit.

@meinkanal7438 Doesn't _neccessarily_ mean it was rigged. I mean, we know insane pulls are possible from this video. Not a Genshin enjoyer but I doubt they went into the code to adjust the rates when they have legitimate things pulling people in (and then the gacha keeps them there...)
What's funny is that diluc isn't even that good. It's actually the 4 stars he got like xiangling and xingqui that are broken but that was impossible to know when the game first came out.
No gacha game would actually risk doing that because if players find out then the games reputation would tank. These games thrive off player retention more than anything.
