There's usually a little tab on those bucket lids that can be grabbed with a pair of pliers and pulled to peel off a strip around the bottom of the lid, which makes the lid significantly easier to take off.
This is excellent work! When i saw it with the support structures in place i was thinking it looked over done. As soon as you pulled them apart i got it. Thats gonna be a great tank! Badass
Mokyi! Long time brother. After I apply mortar mix to the rock, I put crazy glue over area and then sprinkle sand on it to hide the mix color. Instant fix and looks amazing!
I was thinking that once corals grow out on the arch it may create a sail effect and flow could push it over. Getting the base spread out more would be a great idea. I frickin love it!!! Awesome job!!!
Looks good! Wish I would have gone with Marco cement. That’s a wise choice I think. I used the plastic pellets in combination with acrylic rod. Looked great at first but now all the plastic is bright white and rocks purpled up.
Great video of rock working. Please tell me where can I find the cement and white glue that you are mixing. What liquid you are mixing from the plastic bag.
@Inappropriate Reefer, it is not that I question the quality of your mortar. But I feel like that ambitious arch may need some extra reinforcement in the form of chicken net or 'smaller rebar'. Just to give it that extra sense of safety. But hey, I am no expert.
Hey thanks for the recommendation, I may reinforce the arch with a bit more cement before it goes into the tank... I'm not as nervous about that part breaking off in tank though since I have sand bottom, if I have barebottom, I'd probably be singing a different tune and probably have acrylic rods drilled into the rock!
Would have put a rod through those top shelf rocks. Because if it breaks off as you add corals could come crashing down and break bottom of tank, no? Hope that’s not possible. Structure and scape is definately interesting.
Thank you! Someone else mentioned this too... is this a well known thing? The graphic on the top of the box just showed to move the screw driver from the side towards the middle... 😅
@@InappropriateReefer Don't feel bad. It is not obvious. I learned it during a summer job, opening buckets of carpet adhesive. Love what you did with the rock work. Can't wait to see it in the water.
Bucket opener from a beekeeping supplier I paid 5 bucks for mine makes opening buckets like that a breeze. Great video I'm definitely referring to this for my 136 taking forever to figure out the aquascape. 😂
Nice job creates good depth and allows flow. Just a warning pending how long you an on keeping the tank up but pays and other fast spreading corals will need a lot of pruning. I'm currently ripping apart my 125g since after 14 years mushrooms and plays have spread like a plague and will start stinging my SPS.
Good job. I used the Aquaforest stone fix same stuff basically. An idea you could do is make molds of the e-macro cement in ice trays and stick them to the bottom of the scape to sit flush on the glass and give you some more height so your arch isnt as sunken in the sand as you mentioned. I did that. I got the idea from @cjsaquarium.
Instead of having your rock branching all off to the left you should have branched off in the opposite direction too for a natural look to it. But it’s definitely a unique look! 👍🏼 I did something similar to your smaller arch with the Carib sea life rock. The colouration on that rock is awesome!
I have a question, iv been aquascaping for a few days now I’m using aquaforest stone fix cement and the water Iv been using is tap water, do you thing it’s a problem as it’s tap water I’m mixing into the cement?
Im just thinking. Can i remove my rock from the tank, use E-Marco to glue it outside tank while the rock is still damp. After an hour, put it back it tank. Would it work?
I dunno bro, that floating one looks like a weird stoney phallus to me 😂 I guess I can't picture what you are going to put on it. Zoas? Torch? Frogspawn. What is going to just float well? 🤔
I'm debating if I should do this, ultimately I may just slap the whole thing into the tank and plant some corals on the joints, just to move things along 😅
Lol look closer at the bucket lid...those slots are for a knife...cut one...use a rag or glove to grip and peel that safety seal strip off...that's why you can't open it easily...just like any 5gal salt bucket homie 👍
The bucket lid has those little slits on the side for a reason. That’s where you stick a flathead screwdriver at a 45* angle in and and pry downward breaking each and everyone of those slit’s. Then pry up with your hand on the sides of the lid. Easy peasy! I cringed the entire time watching this guy get the lid off.
nice scape! btw whoever said the joint is harder than the rock itself - ya that's BS. it's strong, but not THAT strong. and i wouldn't worry about beautifying joints by 'hiding them on the backside' or covering them with smaller pieces. after a years worth of coralline and coral growth, you can't even see your rocks ;)

He just hit 20k subs! 👍🏼
2nd that
Thanks for the shout out man. That scape is looking SICK!!!
Ryan’s Reef thanks man :)
Inappropriate Reefer thank you for great videos. Greetings from Ukraine 🙃
On your next bucket, cut the slots open and the lid will pry open easily. Lol.
Thanks for this tip, it was a nice workout that I wouldn't want to go through again!! 🙏
Im sorry but I had to laugh lol

I was looking for something like that but no luck, I'll take a closer look!
The little holes in the edge of the lid cut those 00:032

That swan neck gives me anxiety. lol! Looks like you had good luck with the E-Marco!!
Haha I know what you mean! So far the cement is holding up well, next up would be the long term test...
@@InappropriateReefer I really love what you're doing with the tank. Happy to see corals!

Good job. I plan on giving this a try myself.
You showed that bucket whos boss :P End scape looks pretty funky! nice work!
Looks good, cant wait to see it all together
It's going to look FANTAAAAAAAAAASTIC!!!!!! Can't wait to see the final awesomeness.
Looks good! Wish I would have gone with Marco cement. That’s a wise choice I think. I used the plastic pellets in combination with acrylic rod. Looked great at first but now all the plastic is bright white and rocks purpled up.
That rock work is looking crazy!!!!🔥
Thanks brother! I think I went just a tad bit overboard, but I had to test it out 😂
The scapes perfect, I think the way you did the back piece angle just right. The new builds been a long time coming.
Awesome man I love to see you working on your tank it's so inspiring.
Glad you're taking this journey with me! 🙏
Wow very nice hangover scape! Love emarco cement!
Amazing work. I just ordered some. Thanks for the video.
Not sure if u still have a sea cucumber anymore from the 45g, but when I upgraded my tank I kept him in a sand bucket in the sump.
I have not seen my Tigertail is at least a year... my guess is that he's gone, but we will find out very soon as I break down the 45g!
@@InappropriateReefer well that happened to me, but months later it became 2 lol.
Love your videos 👍
Thanks bro!
@@InappropriateReefer No problem 👍
Great video of rock working. Please tell me where can I find the cement and white glue that you are mixing. What liquid you are mixing from the plastic bag.
Welcome back
Thank you sir, you as well!
Yes needed something to watch on my sunday funday and that acuascpae is going to look kick ass once it got some coral growing all over it.
Lol you just needed to cut the holes first on the rim of the bucket
Scape is coming along really nice
I been waiting all day finally👏🏾
Thank you 😊
What kind of leather is that huge one you see at 8:49?
Nice rock formation, I'm excited!

lmao, ok first the bucket lid there is a pull tab on the lid break the tab and the rest you can pull off. Great video thank you
That is looking awesome brother! I cant wait to see it in the tank!
This reef is going to be amazing with the arches.
The one piece of rock work will provide a very dramatic visual interest.
I hope so!!
Good job man. Love the aquascape
Omg this was so funny!! Yesh I got the stuff to try this as well lol.
I recently started saltwater, and i have really been love your page
I love it! That's awesome and inspiring, glad that cement seems to be so strong. One day I will try this too!
Wow that looks dope. Going to have to try that cement nx time. Great job on the scape.
still LMBO!!! goes to show you, there are people who never opened a bucket before
it's looking amazing! the rock looks like a dragon
Would have put a rod through those top shelf rocks. Because if it breaks off as you add corals could come crashing down and break bottom of tank, no? Hope that’s not possible. Structure and scape is definately interesting.
can't wait to see the rocks go in!
Looks awesome 👏 👍🙌🙌
Next time, cut the rim of the bucket lid at each of those little holes. It will come off way easier.

Is there not a lip on the side of the lid? Fold it up all the way around the lid and it will lift off 😆
Good job Mokyi!
nice scape work

Excellent dude 👍superbe aquascape
Good job man. Not so much my kind of scape but I think you will make it look spectacular.
Love the overhang man well done looks gorgeous 😍
Lookin good!
Any superglue works? whats your favorite from amazon or local store
Please update more often, TH-cam videos are my mental food during the lockdown
What happened to the Wing Chun arms ? Lol
Came out awesome chief I love it. I can’t wait to do my 200g scape.

Do u need cement to put reef rocks together?
Cool dude !
Looking great! Going to be awsome scape
Did you break the marco rock up to make this scape? Looks great
Looking good
Hope your new tank doesn’t have the same results of Eat Sleep Reef’s new tank. Looks great...thanks for the journey!
How long did you cycle your tank?
That should look fantastic. Just be sure to secure that bad daddy well..
LMFAO, you dope. The little holes on the side of that lid you are supposed to cut them and it opens very easily. 😂
Hey, is this cement aquarium safe?

lol you gotta cut the area that has holes on side of the lid. that'll break the seal so it'll be easy to open next time.
A floating arch?!..which I did something like that in mine...so sick

Hey man honestly I think it’s OK.. I have run reef tanks with tap water for years, just a little more algae. 😆
That looks awesome
woooow, this is amazing!
Will look good if you cover the cement up with small rocks....👍
What type of leather coral is that with what looks like hair blowing in the current? I would love a frag of that if your willing to sell one? Thanks
Dude, good job, I love that Aquascape, especially the one hanging in the air.. i mean soon water, what ever.
SuperGlue and Sand is your BEST FRIEND.

Fyi You cut down from the holes in the side of the lid and its will be easier to remove.
If you want to hid the joints spread some super glue and sprinkle sand on it

love that finger leather !
Love it!
Looks like a dragon!
Nice Snoopy Pants! LOL!
If you want to add pebbles to hide the concrete you could just use super glue once the concrete sets since it won’t be structural
Nice bathroom
yo yo yoooooo
Yooooo!
Umm there’s a pull tab on those....
These updates need to come a lot quicker. This build is taking forever lol
LOL it's ramping up!!
Tip cut the tabs around the lid
So I found waterproof glue ? 😂

Lol. The rim of bucket peels off. Drywaller
🤩
