I did love the video
Grindavik was Keflavik

Nice to know what they are related to IRL. Who else has been playing PTFS for a long time?
you've called me .. sir?
Awesome I never knew where GR came from. Thanks!
It's actually based off of Manchester (MAN/EGCC)
@@LuisGotNoneor Marseille, there is two versions of GR where is based
No it’s probably marseille cuz even the terminal and the gates are similar
Even the taxiways
@fabricecamoins3860 No because the old Gr looked more similar to Manchester
Funnily enough, the developer noticed in a recent video that Greater Rockford was actually based on Manchester and also that Mellor is based on Bristol, even although Marseille is alot closer.
Meaning GR and Mellor are british
thanks for the video! we now know that Mellor - Paphos, Mellor - Larnaca, Greater Rockford - Paphos, Greater Rockford - Larnaca, Perth - Izolirani, and Saint Barthelemy - Saba all actually exist as commercial flights.
also izolirani to tokyo exists
@@odzergaming nope, those flights are from narita
Awesome video! Really cool seeing the comparisons and just how accurate a lot of them are!
Small note but Greater Rockford is actually based off of Manchester Airport, even though they don't look too similar. The in-game GR has gone through so many redesigns that its barely recognisable, but back in 2018 the old GR did share a Runway layout similar to Manchester. :)
Thanks! Didn't know that it was based off of Manchester. Thank you for sharing
Gr is Chicago Rockford int
@@MCOaviation the name is but not the runway and terminal placement and stuff
It would make sense that GR was based off of Manchester, as in the game the nearby airport of Mellor is actually named after a village near Manchester, also named Mellor.
@@MCOaviation It was confirmed by orange that GR is based off of Manchester
Paphos is an international airport, despite it’s size. It’s because the taxiway with the taxiway writing used to be a second runway. A possible second reason is that it’s the 2nd largest airport in Cyprus, behind Larnaca.
Nice Vid Really found it informative and nice to know the PTFS airports and their IRL counterparts. 😀🙂
your efforts are truly recognizable
That’s cool that they are based off real life airports (Fun Fact): Saint Barthélemy is one of the hardest airports to land at! IRL
😅Greater Rockford is the Chicago Rockford International Airport
Wow I knew ptfs airports we're real airports I actually have been wanting to see this for so long!
Orenji lost 2 runways but ok
Despite many people saying GR is marsielle, according to Orange's video he uploaded yesterday of the GR remake, GR is actually based off manchester airport!
And if people didn’t believe it was based off Manchester before, they definitely will now after the remodel!
What would Grindavik be?
Btw thank you SO MUCH for this video! I am making a discord airline and this literally helped so much!!
I believe grindavik was completely fictional. Any fictional airports I decided to skip as I did not want to add misleading information. Feel free to make grindavik anything you want and good luck with your airline
@@Kipetio Thank you so much!
@@Kipetio Oh yeah, i was doing research and Grindavik airport looks similar to Denpasar Airport :)
@@Kipetio Grindavik is a real town in Iceland, but it has no airport, as the closest one is Keflavik Airport and it serves Reykjavik and looks nothing like the airport in the game.
@@planezyylooks nothing like Denpasar
PTFS players on there way to recreate JAL516 after hearing that Orenji is inspired by Tokyo Haneda 💀
Tbh if you didn't know that...
hello kip, good video!
thanks!
Amazing! Keep it up!
Thanks!
I have always wondered why taxiway was written so big on the paphos taxiway, and I always assumed it was there because it used to be the airport shown in the tutorial, but now I know. Also nice vid👍
Fun fact, even though I might be late to respond to you.
The Paphos taxiway I believe used to be a runway. There's a small bit of apron in the west side of the runway, which is similar to a turnaround zone on runways. To top it all off, there is small faint runway markings on both ends of the runway. It might be possible that it was written to not confuse pilots (who might not be able to see the yellow text, but would likely see the runway markings) in order to differentiate the runway and the taxiway.
Again, the cause is a theory, but now 'ya know.
@@JA01WJ im more late, according to the paphos airport wiki, "On 21 September 2011, a Thomson Airways Boeing 737-800 inadvertently landed on the taxiway parallel to the runway (Taxiway Bravo, formerly Runway 11L/29R). No other aircraft was on the taxiway at the time, and the Thomson taxied safely to the apron." - quote wiki its at the very bottom of the page so you were right :D
"By 2014, yellow 'TAXI' markings were painted across the width of the parallel taxiway near either longitudinal end, facing approaching aircraft; and a 'TAXIWAY' marking was painted at its junction with Taxiway Charlie (about midway), facing the latter." i forgot to add this, again its from wikipedia
I actually love how some planes at hnd (Haneda) has to Fly over the 2nd rw then go to the rw like JAL 516
This is a big help
Wow Mellor / Bristol is so accurate! So is Orenji / Haneda
Shoutout to Bristol
Well, GR was actually said by orange to be based off Manchester airport.
Take one look at your pfp for me pal
Yo kipetio I just wanna say something. There other day I saw u in ptfs aircraft development . My user was Monkey23456p or in other words AviatorMonkey
Nice video! Subscribed
thanks
@@Kipetio Imma call u ' the comment reacter lol
I've been to raf scampton before, very nice place.
Wow. I never new the Perth INTERNATIONAL from the game would actually look similar to THE Perth International! Wowzers
crazy right
@@Kipetiolukla airport is located in Nepal and Nepal is our neighbour
I’m a Perth citizen who has seen the airport, I think they did awesome with the airport. But it would be cool if they added the domestic or international plane spotting area.
I'm australian i believe its right next to tonkin highway i have been to the airport view platform to watch planes take off and land
BEEN TRYING TO HARD TO FIND THE GR AIRPORT TYSM
No problem
It’s actually based off Manchester airport
@@Rowan66109 dude it looks nothing like manchester airport
Ha! I can now say I have been to not one, but two ptfs airports - Perth and Auckland, and every time I visit Perth, there's a very clear view of the airport!
Nice
Yo I saw you in aircraft development today!
Nice
Yoo Gr is based on Manchester international airport and orange himself confirmed it
Ngl, could use RAF Scampton for a great drifting track.
Never knew that Mellor was Bristol airport, which my local airport wow!
Mellor my local too!!!!!

boltic and airbase garry are real
I always thinked mellor is a Canadá airport btw Good video
Thx
If GR was called Marseille it would have been awesome i mean the name marseille is epic and its actually a real airport unlike GR and izo if they changed it too auckland lots of role play would happen same with bristol or mellor in this game and Southampton instead of southamptona
cool that sauthemptona is based on my home airport
I’m 300th like 🎉
Perth is my nearest airport irl!
Tbh i think GR looks like gatwick due to having the almost identical runway number and length. If you think its manchester, thats fine. I respect what you think.
U r the best TH-camr kiptio
thanks
0:35 : "Marsielle"
As a french, that hurts alot
Still god vid lol
Three words to summary your video: Accurate, short and great! Thank you for doing your research before putting something out there that wasn't true.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I agree people will put the real GR without doing really any research
Funfact (Bristol airport is where the hardest Ryan air landing was preformed
I'm an New Zealander and I Didn't know that Auckland was the inspiration
I have been to three ptfs airports, larnaca
mellor and paphos
good video
Thank you
Greater rockford is based of manchester airport you can tell by the ATC tower
I didn’t know Mellor was based on BRS, which just so happens to be my LOCAL AIRPORT!
Same

Lmao The Thumbnail😂
now i know that the "TAXIWAY" text has in real life too
the thumbnail takes life is Roblox to a whole new level☠️
Gr looks like gta5s downtown airport 😂😂
Now i know where my childhood was
Ptfs airports when I tell them to get real
Greater Rockford can be compared to Guarulhos international Airport, in Brazil, the position and the build up are pretty simillars each other, both have two runways and a main terminal.
Greater Rockford looks like Hyderabad airport reasons:
They have parallel runways
Only 1 terminal
Greenery around them
One small and one big runway
But Marseille airport is more similar it also has parallel runways the same taxiways and terminal placement
People in comments are basically saying this: GR looks like Lukla airport reasons: they all have runways, they all are airport, they only have 1 terminal and has greenery around it
@@fabricecamoins3860 It is based off Manchester, look at the second to top (Patronimo's) comment.
GR IS BASED OFF MANCHESTER! Orange said it
This was made before the remodel when it was based off of Marseille
@@Kipetio Bro he said it was based off Manchester ebven before the update, and btw the old layout was similar to Chicago Rockford Intl and Marseille Provence. On this point I agree with you but keep in mind that Orange said in his GR new layout tour "Believe it or not GR is based off Manchester airport. Many of you think it is based off Marseille but it isn't".
Greater Rockford came from here I usually go on holidays
That's where Tokyo on 2024 a plane got crash on a runway
I never knew aircraft carrier was aircraft carrier!!!
I’m so happy that They incorporated my local into the game!
same!
Well, now I know Izolirani is based off my home airport. Now flying at Izolirani is the best way to do an Auckland flight! Thanks for telling me
no problem
I've be to Auckland Airport!
rock ford is an actual airport in IRL. its in Chicago
It's based off the name but the airport no You think A Cross Runway looks like 2 separate runways?
1:47 w-why is the runway curved!!
magic
oh god it hurts to look at it
Google map's 3D terrain's inaccuracies. Which then lead to the airport being a bit curved
I went to Perth Airport in real life!
Guys the thumbnail is wrong the left one is irl and the one on the right is ptfs
Just wanted to say, not necessarily the airport but Grindavik is based on Iceland and the airport has hints of Keflavik Int'l near Reykjaviik
Grindavik is based of Bristol
Izolirani Does looks similar to Auckland AirP but in the game, there is only one terminal we have 2
izolirani is probably just simplified
I like how we can see a small plane crash to a cliff 😂
What I learnt from this video: PTFS runways are wayyyyyyyyy too short
Bristol airport is my local airport, I could actually recognise that mellor was replicating it
Bristol also my local
Bristol also my local
And mine (ish)
Bro Perth International is Copyrighted on Miami airport And the IRL airport of perth
mais ptn greater rockford c'est marseille en faite ! truc de fou, ça change toute ma vision de cet aeroport mntn
The thumbnail💀
