Maybe it was wise for V&M to decide early on in their career not to get involved romantically. But G&G did, and their performances were more enhanced by their real life romance. Conversely T&D skated for 38 yrs and were never romantically involved. But they did not get the same emotional investment that fans had with V&M.
But, analyzing their performances on the ice, as well as the way in which Tessa and Scott relate to each other in many of their public appearances, it is perfectly clear that there is enormous tenderness between the two, especially Scott, a great mutual knowledge, and even a great chemistry between them. It can be seen that Scott and Tessa like to hug each other, that they are very good friends, and that each of them is happy with the other's well-being. They are very kind to each other. And, these characteristics of their relationship, which must have a good basis of truth, it is clear that they greatly value their displays in Ice Dancing.
