Alejandro Mayorkas Impeachment Trial LIVE | Senate Begins DHS Secretary Mayorkas Impeachment Trial

The House impeached Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas in February and, on Tuesday, formally referred the issue to the Senate.
The trial has begun. Democrats are expected to vote to dismiss or table the impeachment articles. But a group of Senate Republicans will try to make the process as lengthy and politically painful as possible.
There are not sufficient votes to convict Mayorkas. Sixty-seven votes would be needed to remove him from office, and Democrats hold 51 seats in the Senate. Some Republicans have also said he has not committed impeachable offenses.
