We are all ego driven. We use our ego to restrain our ego-mind! We are Divine eternal beings first, but we incarnated into corporal form, into the 3 D world where time exists so we may learn from the blessings and curses from experience.

This main point about the absence of a center within consciousness was quite literally eye-opening. Most definitely an "aha!" moment for me. Thank you so much, Sam. Many blessings to you.

Everything that happens outside and inside, everything you perceive with your consciousness, is the work of the mind. Once you understand this, liberation will come.

No matter what practice I try, I still feel like I’m at the center of my experience looking out from my eyes.

feel it thoroughly, try sinking into it and look for anything that appears to be a thought overlayed on this sensation, you can begin with you concluding that you feel like you are at the center of your experience looking out from your eyes

But what about when you know that the ego doesn’t really exist, isn’t a separate entity, and have all of this awareness, to the point of where you are 100% completely aware of when you are allowing your ego mind to take over and you consciously are watching your samkaras play out and that you are feeding into them? Even though I KNOW they are just thoughts arising and that they only arise on a sense of self that is a figment of the imagination, that there is nothing real about them… I still often identify with them. It is so maddening. How do I struggle less against this?

The universe is infinite. This means that the universe doesn't stop where "your" body starts, or it wouldn't be infinite! Infinity can't be divided - All is ONENESS! Simple!

Infinity cannot be quantified and neither can each of us, mans' quest to find answers has led him to quantify everything. Its time to go back a few steps in order to go forward!

This works, but u might have overexplained it. A common problem I also share. I felt the ending was perfect and the long pauses were intentional and mindful. Thank you for this insight! Wishing you Peace, Compassion and Happiness in your life!

I love your channel. As a person who loves languages I notice the when you say the most important words they have a rising tone and then a falling tone. Where did you come by that?

Thanks Sam I am on to this just recently. I am not sure if that sensed self is visible early in practice ? Maybe the sensed self hides within us ?

You appear to be saying " fix attention - always, on the "I am" and not any thoughts.
Let thoughts come and go , they appear only in the background ? (Nisargdutta Maharaj)
Since ego is associated with thoughts only, you manage to bypass.
May be another video is called for using some pictures, diagrams for simplicity.

    Sam Gow 🙏
The ego of a person is the self centric "l" or "Me".
When asked to define what is "I" or "Me", a person gets stuck, pauses and remains silent. Even he/she tries, it is futile.
This proves that the I or Me doesn't exist - it is a mind construct or a self reference pronoun.
    When a person realizes this Truth, gradually he/she doesn't hold or cling onto the egoic I or Me anymore;
Causing he/she to be fully aware of things. Awareness is like empty space - it is not shaped by what passes thru', it remains untouched, whole & free.
The _Light of Awareness_ shines on all things, it is aware of everything but doesn't cast shadows on them.
(To paraphrase) To discard One's Egoic Self - practice detachment (Non-attachment) ie not to hold onto a self, personality, an ego or idea (concepts) - the *_Buddha_* told Elder *_Subhuti_* - *_Diamond Sutra_* - refers.
    😊🙏🙇‍♂️🌷
