how often does it go out of focus and collimation?

I received mine on Jan 6, 2020 after 3 years of patience. Three in our club (Los Angeles Astronomical Society) have them.

Yes, our club events and meetings are open to the public. Meetings are online.

I've seen more color in objects in 5 minutes in the eVscope than I have when looking through large Dobsonian instruments of 20" or greater.

Thank you Rob , I purchased this telescope because of you. I have a 12 inch Dob and an 8 inch Schmidt Cassegrain and I haven’t seen anything in the galaxy department ever besides faint points of light. I live in downtown Tampa so there’s tons of light pollution. So the EV scope makes perfect sense to me. But you also see these purist that say that the EV scope is a huge rip off and site that you could build one for a quarter of the price that’s twice as powerful. however these are people that usually are very into the hobby that have decades of experience. I’m generally considered a noob I’ve only been doing this for two years but I need help in the imaging department. I just don’t get it. This telescope makes perfect sense To me but I felt like I was being naïve buying it with all these people talking so badly about it. Do you hear somebody with a telescope almost twice as big as mine saying that this telescope is good is exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you.

I was really interested in having a go at Cuiv the Lazy Geeks Automated Telescope. I was wondering if you did a review of that project. I had a look through his video and didnt see too many cables, and ive an IT background, but you said it wasn't as easy as presented in the Video, or its no where near the Automation you get with Evscope. Did you produce any photos from this project, would love to see its capabilities, Thank You.

After watching Cuiv's TH-cam presentation on building the SkyWatcher version with Stellamate and the small refractor I ordered the recommended mount, scope, reducer and Raspberry Pi and installed the software. Everything went together with some fiddling but the usability. of the finished system and the results weren't anywhere close to the EVScope ver 1. When I do outreach, I set up the SkyWatcher / Stellarmate next to my EVScope to show people what they can do for about $1,000 with the following advice:. If you want to get up and running in 5-10 minutes and use a well engineered smartphone APP to view objects and share your views with others in observer mode that allows you to capture images, then it's worth getting the EVScope. If systems integration is joyful, you don't mind using two different apps, one for the mount setup and one for observing, and you don't mind working through a steep learning curve to get marginal results, then the "roll you own" solution does somewhat work. I didn't bother to save any pictures past the first few that I took and ditched. They were not anywhere near what I was getting with my EVScope in my very light polluted skies inside the Washington DC beltway.

Read and view presentations on both and then decide which one suits your needs best and get that one. If you have the funds, get both:) You can never have too many telescopes.

I remember when goto scopes came out, amateurs stating cheating, taking the fun out of astronomy, will never learn the night sky.
Yet today most are using them.

Dwarf 2 is best advanced, ceahpest, easy, fast, portable, light, espicially for bigganers, go to telescope. It takes only 1 min to start observing.
