This is such a great aircraft. I've had mine over a year now. I've only flown it on 3s. (1000mh) fits perfectly in that slot upfront and cg is perfect. I really really think you should try it. It's beyond fun!! Great video as always Brian!
We need more planes in the UMX to 800mm range so we can fly on the days we can't make it to the club with our 1200mm and up beauties. Great video you two, I just received my Arrows RC 50mm Viper that I ordered with your HobbyZone link and I can't wait to maiden it.
Love the FMS 800mm warbirds! I have both the Corsair and mustang. I use a 3s 1300 in both. I even threw 2.5 inch dubros rigged to coat hangers as landing gear on my mustang and it works nicely. I also threw a 30amp avian in both. Have over 50 flights with no over heating or any issues with cg. I have been waiting for you to review these warbirds. Awesome! Ps. 6 channels with flaperons is pretty fun to play with on these.
I added flaps to my 800mm corsair and it's friggin awesome! I'm a little weary about ripping the cowl off to slap an Avian 30amp in it. Did you have any trouble with the corsair cowl while replacing the ESC? I haven't been able to find any mounting screws on it. So, I'm assuming I'll be breaking out the China glue for this one. 👍
@@AL-RCjunkie the cowl has double sided tape holding it. The motor mount has set screws. You don’t need to remove anything but the cowl and pull the esc wires towards the front. I made connectors to step down the esc leads to the motor leads. It’s much easier to make adapters than solder new ones to the motor or esc. I have used a lot of hot glue to fix this plane and it was even completely broken in half at one point. She still flys like a dream if not better. The motor handles the extra power without issue.
@@nmfishdude200 Hell yeah! Thanks for the tips! Can’t wait for the next rainy day to tear into this little beast. It’s the only plane I don’t have telemetry on. So, I’m stoked to fly her while dust collects on my little Lipo alarm 😊👍
Tip from more than 10 years ago: (Not my idea.) You can put a skewer through the outside of the plane right by the rescue sticker, in through the "tab" on the bottom of the canopy and halfway into the other side of the fuselage. The canopy won't come up with the skewer in place. The skewer is easy to remove/install. You can store it the hole you made through the canopy when the canopy is off so you don't lose it. The only thing you see from the outside is the little bit of skewer you leave sticking out and you can paint it to match the plane.
@@BrianPhillipsRC It's kind of annoying that the 800mm FMS T-28 has had this canopy "problem" for as long as it has been around (at least 12 years - mine is from 2011) and the current plane is essentialy identical to the original except they improved the foam and added more detail to the landing gear. How hard is it to source a better magnet?
Just ordered this through your website. I cant wait to flap mod it. Ive been flying the 800mm corsair on the 800mAh 3s packs (JST) and it CGs out perfect. Super light. Really great flyer. 5 or 6 mins of flight time. And i can charge em on in my car with the little S-55 on an inverter. Can fly till my legs give out. @@BrianPhillipsRC yes in auto leveling. If you have it turned on and hold the plane while going full throttle you can see it.
