That is true!! First time I watched was in Spanish, they totally ruined...then I watched several times in V O. Is a great movie but as you said.. underrated
Must admit I heard the soundtrack before I ever saw the movie. Then I saw the movie. Brilliant, funny, touching, and Holly Hunter doesn't get half enough credit. Watch her face and facial expressions in this clip. Utterly brilliant!
The reason I first watched this movie is because George Clooney is my favorite actor. But it is genuinely the best film I've seen. I love every second of it; all the cast and crew did an amazing job. I totally fell in love with this song, and I dont know why 'cause I'm not a great country lover. But the performance is so funny. Everyones dancing, especially Everett's is hilarious. + 4.12 is possibly the best part of the movie O_O
give credit to the director and wardrobe department. this scene looks so authentic. they have got the clothes and props down to a science. the old couple listening to the radio was like going back in time. i am buying several copies of this dvd for stocking stuffers this year,.
Best Movie back in Y2K!!!, I just watched this flic for the second time tonight. What a fantastic adventue film...I was amazed at just how this movie made me feel as if i were transported back in time to the Deep Southern State's of America back during the 1920/30's. A Real thigh slapping, Gut Buster of a film. One of my all time favorite Movie's
my mom had the biggest crush on George Clooney, I was little when this movie came out, i can quote every line, because we watched it that much! still i don't get tired of it!
I was 8 when the movie and now just last week I finally got a chance to see the movie. Swear to God that I thought George Clooney was really singing....perfect lip syncing I didn't even noticed lol
likely because Clooney praticed hard to sing the song prior to the movie but he could't do it quite good enough, but the *lipsyncing* is good because he IS actually singing.
Clooney did sing it. But his voice was overdubbed later. So the real singer, Dan Tyminski, had to do the hard work of matching Clooney's moves. Somehow this turned a bland folk song with a nice hook into a firestarter.
OMG I LIVE THIS SONG!!!!! i listened to this is class today and i couldn't help but sing along. My teacher just sat there and looked at me like "ummm can i help you emile ?"
Smoke YaSs The KKK is and remains a Democrat Party terrorist organization, created and maintained by the Demoncrats for the express purpose of racial intimidation of black Republican voters. I love this movie soo much and Im Glad for my teacher to had show us this movie in school!!!! I love this song too I couldnt stop smiling everyone was laughing...
Charles Durning was a brilliant actor, even larger than life and he was a terrific hoofer too. He often danced in his movies. Watching a man that big dance as if he were weightless is pure joy. Who says white men can't dance?
6:00 "...These boys is gonna be my brain trust!" *whispers* "What's that mean, Everett?" "Well, Delmar, that means that you and me and Pete and Tommy are gonna be the... Power behind the throne, so to speak." "Oh. OK." ^_^
James Houston "Jimmie" Davis (1899-2000). A segregationist, he supported the separation of black and white students in the public schools. In addition to his career in politics, Davis was a successful country and gospel music singer and songwriter. He is perhaps best known for his song, “You Are My Sunshine,” one of the official state songs of Louisiana.
one of the most underrated movies in the world.
Absolutely it is

Best line in there..."These boys desecrated a burning cross!"
It's funny came from a guy who is the leader of the Degenerate Ignorant and Bigot Buffoon
This whole movie is brilliant.
Agree...And underrated....
HOT DAMNN, ITS THE SOGGY BOTTOM BOYS!
one of my favorite parts.
I listen to classic rock, alternative rock, new rock, old country-no new, blue grass, etc., this song is one of my all time favorites of any genre
Georges Clooney is really a excellent actor ! He can play all the characters he wants. Great guy.

the best interpretation of an incredibly ancient story ever.
The choreography for this movie deserves a Emmy
This is the best movie I've ever seen.
From the first 22 years of my life spent in Missouri I can assure you that Delmar is very real. I have known several just like his character.
This is an amazing movie! And I like this song very much.
0:11 The subtlety of the moment and their "What the... hell...?" expressions floored me the first time I saw it. Man I love this movie.
Love the look on Georges face at the crowds reaction at the start of the song!
My favorite part is the look on Penny's face when she realizes her loser husband has suddenly gone pop star.
Angry Nerd Bird Rhen shevgo Soft again
Or perhaps, he was always a pop-star all along. After all, King Odysseus is of heroic blood.

Good film, and good song
I still get goosebumps from this scene
Could have been my comment, I feel the same.
Goosebumps? ...you gotta get out more!
The two guys onstage singing and that dancing....... very funny, they steal the show.

One of my all time favorite Movie's
It's actually a rendition or free version, if you prefer, of Homer's Odyssey.
no wonder it won a grammy for best album, these songs are soooo good. I also love how the movie is an interpretation of Homer's Iliad.
It was homer's odyssey, not illiad
The story parallels Homer's Odyssey, not The Iliad.
@@HansDelbruck53 And the bad guy's name in the movie is Homer :)

Every month or so i look this up, it always cracks me up.
Great movie.
"Is you is or is you ain't my constituency?" -- my favorite line in the whole film. =D
Just a bit of borrowing from Frank Zappa here.....it's all good
Love this song and movie also my dads favorite movie every time I hear this I think of him

''is you is, or is u ain't my constituency?'' ............. that is straight up from Tom and Jerry :P
You referring to 'Solid Serenade' where Tom sings "Is you is or is you ain't" by Louis B. Jordan.
Never get bored of this.. Especially when they sing you are my sunshine
Seen in my ninth grade English class! Such a cute movie!!
Damn, they're in a tight spot.
All day, I had this song playing over and over in my head.
I've never gotten tired of watching or listining this song
This movie is so good. And funny, especially this part... they didn't know that song became a hit! lmao Love it! Maybe I'm an oldie at heart.^_^
My most watched movie. David Bentley Hart's favourite movie too. - Martin from Australia
I learned my dance moves from this movie.
Love this movie, one of my favorites quotes is old pappy says Opportunity knocks...❤️❤️❤️
Great scene, great acting.
R.I.P. Charles Durning.
It's weird I always loved listen to that song. "I am the man of constant sorrow" love that part.
This scene is a master piece.

Sou fã desse filme pela história contada como pela história da música americana!!! 👏👏👏
My favourite movie, great actors, great music.
You want your mind blown? I still use Dapper Dan to this day... Imma Dapper Dan man!

Посмотрев впервые этот фильм я понял что Клуни замечательный актер.
Фильм - один из моих любимых.
Как будто Туртуро и Тим Блейк хуже. Да это лучшие в Голливуде.
RIP Charles Durning. Your dancing here was a highlight.
Time to watch this movie again soon!
This is a great movie and this song is Epic!
"The Look" that Charles Durning gave Dustin Hoffman in Toostie in the bar after he finds out she was a he is "classic"! Going to miss that guy!

This movie is art. It is more than just a movie. The Coens' masterpiece.
This scene still makes the hairs stand up :) Top movie and toons.
Still think this was the Coen brothers best film. No country for old men was good...but this was far more entertaining
My opinion:
- A Serious Man
- No Country for Old Men
- The Man Who Wasn't There
- Inside Llewyn Davis
- O Brother, Where Art Thou
MisterAZS I think the best one was the Big Lebowski then this one followed by Fargo, Burn after Reading and Inside Llewyn Davis.
Yeah, their best, no doubt!! :)
+MisterAZS srsly, every single one of them is great but.... no Big Lebowski???
Big lebowski was too weird. But bridges was great
This movie is great. I laugh everytime a woman yells "Cow killer! at George "Babyface" Nelson near the end of the movie.
I love that look at the beginning, "What the.....?"
Gott... was soll ich sagen... ich liebe diesen Film... und noch mehr dessen Soundtrack, der meisterhaft ist! Vor allem "down to the River to pray"!
The power of (good) music transcends even racism and other hateful stuff!
