Thanks this really helped me find my problem . I used a cheap fuel filter from scam mazon 😅 and it disinigrated in no time sucking junk into my carb the jet was clogged bad with a crap load of filter material . I knew I should have bought a good filter . But lesson learned . Thanks great video
Oh wow, have never heard of that happening. Glad to have you on board Donald!
Hey man, this video allowed me to completely fix my mower/carb. Super appreciated.
That is great news, now get to mowin ;)
Thank you so much for this well made video! I have my rebuild kit on order and this step by step was exactly what I needed!
Glad it helps, you are making a good decision rebuilding it. The Chinese replacement carbs on Amazon have become nothing but junk
Great video man! With the help of this video, I went from never dismantling one of these or knowing how they worked, to taking it apart figuring out what was wrong and ordering a repair kit. I really like that you put the links for the items and to your other video too 👍 My carburator was a different part number than the one in this video, but the internals are pretty much the same.
That is great to hear, makes all the effort worth while with comments like this. Congrats on the fix
Thank you for the awesome video my friend. I am so glad I found your channel and I will now be following you. I just followed your video to the T on the exact same carburetor and my cub cadet Z force zero turn is running 100% better!
Hey that is great to hear, well done!
Thak you. I'll try it when the sun comes out again.😊
Best advice to get my 1045 running again Check the solenoid ~
I'd had problems with water contaminated fuel ( so I thought ) in a few different machines
So when my Cub LT1045 died and wouldn't restart I assumed the fuel problem again
But I had run the machine for half an hour before the motor quit ???
Hhmmm, wouldn't it have drank the water at the bottom of the tank first ? HHMM ?
Watching your video (especially the last part explaining the purpose of the solenoid )
This sounded like a possible cause ! ;-)>
Checking the solenoid ... there was the power plug dangling down in the wind
Plugged solenoid back in but then found the battery dead from leaving the key on , DOH !
Battery went on the charger overnight . GREEN LIGHT GO !.
( Overnight I had a BAD DREAM that it STILL had the same nostart 🤮 )
BUT when I put the battery back in SHE FIRED RIGHT UP !
Thanks Mower Man Mike You're a genius!
My lawn is cut and my neighbors don't hate me any more 🤓
Haha life is good brother! I didn’t do anything, I just helped get that brain working for ya. Well done
Nice shot with the carb cleaner 😂 oh yeah cool to see you coming to the shop from the basement..🤘🏽 great vid, good info.
Thanks glad ya enjoyed it. (The basement bit was a lame joke lol)
@@MowerMike funny though 🤣
Great Video 😃 i accidentally put diesel fuel in my 24hp cubcadet twice 😂 but this time it shut down.so i changed the oil and filter and cleaned the spark 2 spark plugs (after I put in the new oil and filter and drained the gastank and put new fresh gas in the Cubcadet,it fires right UP! but starts sputtering again (but) watching Your great video several times, its nighttime here in Alabama area now ,11pm so ill watch your video again and then see if I can get it going 😇👍
Haha twice! Come on, do they only sell diesel in Bama??? Glad the video helped
Thanks!
Hey man I appreciate that. Glad it helped
Im trying to remove/replace carburetor on super lt 1554 and need video on removing..i ran into issue after removing airfilter housing and cant get carb off because bracket is in the way
Take the bracket off.
Great video man. I have done everything you have said. Everything appears clean, put it back together and when I start the mower gas sprays out my muffler! Maybe bad carb? Could you tell me where to find this exact carb you are working on? Or maybe an idea of what wrong? Everywhere I look I see carbs but none of them list my model koeler the 725-3055..
Check out the links on the video description, I have a carb replacement video with links to new carbs. But, if fuel is spraying out your muffler you may have bigger engine issues than the carb. Be careful don’t blow yourself up.
Best video I've seen on this Carburetor. I have the same carburetor on my Cub Cadet Zero Turn. It is marked Walbro LMC. My engine surges (too lean) whenever the blades are not engaged. I purchased a new Carb and that fixed the surging for 6 months. Now doing it again. I have cleaned both carbs per your video to no avail. It is annoying that you can't adjust these carburetors. I'm to the point of drilling out the jet as I don't want to purchase another Carburetor every 6 months. I know running lean is bad for the engine Any suggestion before I pull out my drill bits?
Thanks for the compliment. If both carbs are clean and it is doing the same thing it may not be the carb. Try checking the valve clearances I have a couple of videos on it. Also, Make sure you have a good seal with the intake gasket and it isn’t leaking air between the engine and the carb.
If you can see through the jet and it has a nice round hole then that jet probably isn’t your issue. But if you still can’t figure it out there is no harm in drilling it out as long as the bit isn’t larger than the jet. Good luck I know it can be annoying.
One other thing... I am working on a Cub Cadet 1046 w/courage 22HP motor and trying to remove the engine cover. Am I wrong or does one have to remove the fuel tank and shroud just to get the engine cover off? Is there a simpler way of doing it?
You have to take the fuel tank off. It sucks. Check out my cub fuel tank removal video
If you have access to it, can you just take off the bowl with the carb still on the mower? I have one I suspect the fuel solenoid is all that's wrong.
Yes you can
Great video, great guy... Subscribed bro💪💪..
Any local shops sell carburetors where your at?
Welcome aboard, strap in it could get weird. Just go to your local mower shop they can set you up, or get one on Amazon. It is a 50/50 on if the Amazon carb will work but they are cheap
I see you took the seal off of the backfire solenoid. Mine was stuck in the closed position. I cut the plunger off mine and unplugged it. Is that a bad thing?
Haha I have no idea but that will do the trick for sure. That plunger is to prevent backfires.
do you have a video on how to take it off the mower?
I think there is one, look around my cub cadet playlist.
My cub cadet is flooding really bad. Kohler engine. The throttle control does not want to push up and down. Any idea how I can unstoppable carburetor without taking it off. I'm physically challenged and cannot take it off. Gas is in the oil and air filter reeks of gas.
It sounds like your float is stuck flooding the carburetor. Try whacking the carburetor with a hammer a few times and see if you can jiggle someone loose. Never know.
Can that solenoid be tested? Do you they sell that as a replacement? Great Video
Yes it can, check out Chickanics channel I think she has a video on testing it with a battery. Or you can just unscrew it and you will see it go down when you turn the key. Be careful with gas and fumes though
... Ohhhh yeah! i forgot to mention (yeah)i need to purchase a new air filter! i checked it out and its super Clogged!! so I'll buy one and then double check everything and let you know how I came out 🙏😁. CJ
I think it was cleaner' before , you started messin' with it 😜 🛠 It still' was a pretty good video tho' 👍
Ya ya whatever works
Do you know the serial number of the carb?
No I do not. To find the right carb you can google the mower model. Or the engine model (if it is a Kohler it is stamped on the block towards the back, Briggs will have it on the valve cover). Be careful ordering the Chinese carbs off Amazon they seem to suck lately and only half of them work.

Below this video I have a link to a carb I used.
Dang you got a concealed Carry permit for those GUNS???
Didn’t you hear open carry in Texas! Sun’s out Gun’s OUT!
I don't need to see the video but had to say i keep seeing those mowers going in and out of the shop
And wonder why is it really breaking down on those people that much or are the shop people even working on it when they bring it in i watched one womans mower like that one go to the shop about 4 times this summer this month made it the 4th time
That is some excellent pondering there. I have no idea. I know the mowers I buy are all broke junk.
@@MowerMike thats the same as mine i buy broke mowers
@@MowerMike they're still good broken mowers though i have 3 backup mower's and 2 other's I'll work on later sometime
Im still looking around for a newer used mower just for the engine for my square fender John deere 110 because the engine on it is missing a part i can't buy anywhere so i can switch the engine out and take out the k181s
I will tell ya.. my kohler and I have a love - hate relationship!
I hear ya, the new model Kohlers seem to have some odd issues. One just leaves pools of gas everywhere and I can’t figure it out WTF
@@MowerMike Yeah, mine has the odd issue of allowing fuel to into the oil/heads. I get... from Kohler.. known issue. So, I have had to replace carb., put in fuel cut off - so no fuel gets to carb until ready for use.. and on and on. LOL YOU ROCK by the way. Keep up the good work!
@@Elliottdrpaful I appreciate it. I am going to do a Kohler head gasket video. I think that maybe a source of some of those issues
The kits cost way more than the whole new carb...
True, those Amazon carbs suck lately though, about half of them actually work.
Who’s got tickets to the gun show?
Haha did a pre shoot arm workout for ya
