Looking back at these past sets, it's absolutely amazing to me on how far these 2 players have progressed and evolved over the years to ultimately deliver the strength of Pokkén for a grand finale to remember.

Man, Pokken is so fun to watch... would you guys say the game is worth getting as a casual fighting game player? I only very rarely get to play against real people, but I like futzing around in solo every now and then. Is there enough substance here for that sort of player?
I'd say so there is a story mode that would probably keep you entertained honestly all the characters are unique and fun and all support combos help keep the game fresh like your not experiencing the same match ups over and over again I highly recommend it
Edit: This game is mostly dead now so if you do decide to play online it might take you a little while to find a match
@@whitesoul7856 Thank you, I think i'll actually give it a shot then - the last game I really kept up with the online in was SF IV Arcade Edition, I believe, so I don't think it being dead will be much of an issue for me. These days I suck way too hard to compete anyway. ^^

Commentary could be better. Seem a bit sided & got caught up on details like the terror of Nightmare mode & Celebi being useless to counter it. Awesome match, don't watch so much PTDX but interest is stirring again.

The fact that this 3 year old game has much better graphics and animations and backgrounds then sword and shield is insane. I know that they are very different but seriously they could have done better.
Tbf of course a fighting game is gonna have better animations but yeah I get your point. Pokémon is handled better by literally every company except game freak

@@AnthanKrufix Bro, Sword and Shield looks like trash, it has decent lighting and shading, that's about it, the environment, models and animations are almost all sub par at best, there's really no excuse for how piss poor the overall quality is, considering it's a triple A title on a new console.

This is a double elimination tournament, which is standard for many competitive games. They run a standard tournament, usually referred to as the "winners bracket", and the person who wins finals then waits while everyone else basically starts another tournament, generally known as the "losers bracket." This is why it's called double elimination, you have to lose twice in order to actually lose, first in the winners bracket, then again in the losers bracket. Once the losers bracket completes, the finalist from the winners bracket faces the finalist of the losers bracket in "Grand Finals." If the finalist from the winners bracket wins the set, the other person has technically lost twice, having lost once to end up in losers bracket in the first place, and Grand Finals ends. But if the finalist from the losers bracket wins, then the other person has only lost once, and they have to play another set so that one of the two will have lost twice. This is known as a "bracket reset."
If a set consists of a "best of 5 matches," then winning 3 matches will win the set. So a "6-0 run back" is a Grand Finals round in which the finalist from the losers bracket wins the first 3 matches of the first set, causing the bracket reset described above, and then wins the first 3 matches of the second set as well, winning the entire tournament. Hope this explains it. If not, you can always look up "double-elimination tournament" on Wikipedia for further clarification.

@@caolanochearnaigh9804 imagine every person gets one loss in a tournament. We see that Mewtator is on winners side, and shadowcat is on loser's side.
Shadowcat lost earlier in the tournament to someone else, so he needs to win two sets. Mewtator didnt lose, so he only needs to win one in grand finals.
Reset is when the person in loser's (shadowcat) wins the first set, and the bracket is "reset" to where now both players are in loser's.

Tbh I fucking love biased commentary, it makes it so much better when the player thats biased won or lost, go look at the skullgirls Europe evo side event finals, that was great.

I love pokken mechanics, but this commentator is horrible. It’s like watching a shitty anime where a character uses a move and a side character takes up 30 seconds of screen time sugar coating the move and explaining the move. Like, goddamn. If I wanted that sort of commentary I’d go watch your generic shonen anime fight or some shit.
